How Much Is Ngata Going To Cash In

51 posts in this topic

I think it's definitely gonna be a 6 year deal. 7's too long for anyone, 5's gonna be too expensive. 6 is a good number unless you're Catholic.

6yr/$75mil

That sounds about right. I could see something happening where we pay him somewhere around $9mil/year for the next 2 years and then really start to bring in the big bucks after that, around $14.25mil/year for the remainder of his contract.

I say that because I estimate that's when Ray's gonna retire. Also the FO has specifically stated that they want Ngata to be our cornerstone when that happens.

But for now? If we wanna bring our guys back, I can see Ngata taking less money for the next couple of years in exchange for the big money in the years after. Security is a beautiful thing. Especially for negotiations.

This deal's gonna be crucial.

Whoever said 5 years 20-30 mil is losing their mind. The guy is probably going to be the highest paid defensive player in the league....look for an 8 year 105-110 million dollar contract. Locking him in as a raven for life and getting him what he should get as one of the best in the league. This is a business......humble or not you work to get paid. If your the best at what you do you expect to get paid as such...as far as the charity thing, that's a lot of charity bank for him.....let's stop kidding ourselves about his heart and his love for the game.....bret carve came back a million times because he loved the game....still got 12 million a year. Payton Manning is a true leader and one of the most humble people I have ever met.....always working to get better, but you know damn well he is going to get the largest contract in history when he resigns.

Ain't no way, Haynesworth set the bar at the 100 mark for a DT and he disappointed at that mark. It will be under 100M. 65-85 is probably the most likely range.

6 years, 80 million. Probably 45-50 million guaranteed. He could get 100 million on the FA market though, of that I've no doubt. So I think if we get him for that I'd be pleased.

Yeah but that was for 6 years. This guy's talking about 8 years. And Haynesworth had plain-as-day personality and professionalism issues, so it should have surprised no one, it certainly didn't surprise me, that he fizzled out after he got his money.

7 years, $86.7 Million with $38 Million guaranteed.

We want him to be a life-long Raven and that contract locks him up until 2018, when he'll be 34.

I think 6 years, and around $65million, at least $45million in guaranteed money. And a whopping signing bonus as well. He deserves it though, that man is truly a special talent.

I know it's got to be against the rules, but what if we found a way for Ngata to take less by having the "Ravens organization" contribute money to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on his behalf?

5 years, $80M ($30M guaranteed)

That would hurt, that's pricey.

Yeah haynesworth was a different beast all together, the ravens are locking this guy up for the rest of his career if they are smart. I figured like this...8 years he's locked in till he's 35...13 mil a year puts him at 104 so 105-110 makes sense for a deal that locks him in for life....if its 7 yrs still think its for for 90+

Just to help this make sense for more people, let's compare Ngata to say Dwight Freeney, 3 years ago Freeney signed a 6 year/72 million dollar contract (12 mil/yr) I would say that with that being a pretty good bar to set Ngata at it makes sense that he would get at least 1 mil a yr over that salary and if the ravens want to lock up his services they would be smart to offer a 7-8 yr contract with 7yrs at 13mill = 91 million.

Freeney is a DE, a premier pass-rusher. It's tough to use his salary as a comparison to a DT.

Gerald McCoy got 63 over 5 yrs....Agata will get at least that but over 6-7 and that makes it 76m/6 and 89m/7....stills my guess is 7 yrs over 90 mil.
