Congrats Chuck!

Your work with the DB unit this season was arguably the best by a positional coach this season and now, you're getting rewarded for it.

Wow there goes one down, can't wait to c how he does this coming season.Let's cross our fingers and toes for Cam to go somewhere. But its likely that since we want that to happen,it probably won't.

Congrats to Coach Mattison, he will do a great job at Michigan. I'll be very interested to see how the players mesh w/ Chuck Pagano & what wrinkles he will put into the defense.

Yes defensive collapses when theyre on the field for 70 plays a game, your train of thought with the defense is so pre-school

I wish Mattison the best, and hope Pagano can live up to the tradition of great defense in Baltimore.

Any idea what school of defense Pagano comes from?

Finally a reason to get excited. Let's not forget the tremendous job this guy did with Wilson coming in , with Webb in his rookie year , with Carr improving every year . Zibi made some plays last year , Nakamura has been very good in our sub-packages. I like it

Congratulations to both Mattison and Pagano!

We all knew Greg was more of a college DC but he did an admirable job, here, as ours. After a rough start, he really got it together.

That said, I'm very glad to have Pagano as our coach. He's done his time and has been one of the best DB coaches the NFL and college football has had. Hopefully he injects some new ideas and passion into this group and gets them performing like the defense of old.

I admire what Mattison did here. I'm not going to foolishly blame him for the defensive collapses when you consider what he was working with and the fact the offense repeatedly failed to stay on the field and left the defense for a long time.

I believe he's a 3-4 guy, if that's what you mean. Not entirely sure, but I think so.

I think we should have picked up Rob Ryan to replace Matty and get Childress to replace Cam.
Rob Ryan already accepted Dallas' defensive coordinator position, anyways.

I hope pagano just because lights out when it comes to scheming hopefully just can fire up our d as much as ray lewis does. Hopefully he shows emotion throughout the game and not sitting stoned face the whole entire game get pissed when your deffense is slipping get pissed on bad ref calls and make the steelers look like little girls like they should.

Yeah, I wanted to know if we're still going to stick with the 3-4, and what kind of players to bring in to fit the system.

I guess we won't know about his schemes (whether he's blitz heavy or not) until next season.

Good luck Mattison!

Actually pretty excited about Chuck as our new OC. Loved what he did with our CBs this year.

Why take a step down? Does his age have anything to do with it? Anyone?
I don't think it's that. He was always a college coach, his job coaching our LBs, here, was his first ever NFL gig. I just think it had more to do with him enjoying and being more successful as a college coordinator plus he's coached at Michigan before...

But, hey, this means his son won't be on the team anymore!

I am certainly hoping it means just that!

Ok... anyone know if Chuck intends on being a Head Coach because if he doesn't than lock him in for more than 3 years please, I would like some continuity on the defense other than Ray Lewis. Let's make sure Chuck never leaves and is our "Franchise" Defensive Coordinator.

I think we should see how he does first.
