Well I think it means either coaching in the NFL, or coaching a team who's identity is based on it's defense. It's a big deal to be the DC of the Ravens, I imagine that comes with a boat load of pressure.

As a side note, at least Mattison has a job this season, who knows what will happen in the NFL with the possible lockout.

Yeah, I can understand that. I wonder if it is harder, or easier when you have a man like Ray Lewis on the roster.

This is sad. I really wanted Mattison's schemes to flourish and grow with new players that are added via draft. I guess it's time for a change?

But jeez, we lose our DC, our OC is on the hot seat, a rumor with Jim Zorn to Seattle as their OC, and a bunch of other coaches are going to Oakland to be with Hue Jackson. Why is this whole staff suddenly changing less than a week after the end of the season for the Ravens?

Not really sure. Mattison is a good freind of the Michigan Coach, and he will be near his family which his daughter is about to have a baby. That might all fall into his decision too.

He looked really good at times, but other times I couldn't help myself but think that he wasn't the right coordinator.

I do not think there is reason to panic...Coaches come and go but if they do not sign some of the key players then there may be some concern,the rumor mill is in high gear.
