Thanks To The Ravens For A Great Season

9 posts in this topic

The season may not have ended the way we all had hoped but, I would like to take a second and thank all the players, coaches and staff for a great year.

Ravens fans are a bit spoiled so we have a tendency to look at the down side of each year if we don't hit the Super Bowl. We are quick to play the red queen screaming "off with their head" and we have a huge list of what we think should have been done. Thats just part of being a fan. But after all the smoke has cleared....we love our Ravens.

12-4 with a wild card win, not bad..not bad at all guys. I say job well done, and lets get ready for next year! I BLEED PURPLE!!

GO RAVENS!

With all the threads about how bad we are and I want Cam gone and this and that is to blame for us losing etc. I really think that a thread with each user being able to detail a positive thing or their appreciation for the team and the players should be pinned at the top. Beyond all the negatives that can detailed and talked about I think the most important is that we are lucky as fans of the baltimore RAVENS to be able to look back and see what we could have done. To even say we could have made it to a superbowl that those were aspirations not out of reach says alot about how great of a organization and group of players that we all love to criticize, complain, and argue about in the end we cheer for them on sunday and each sunday it added up to a another playoff season with the best record since 2006. we went 12-4 I know im proud to still have all the jerseys hanging up in my house. All the players know that we really wanted to win that game and show how much we love our team with a AFC championship game at home. I hope that they can see that we are proud to have the team we do and that next year they can do better and we will have their back yet again. I know im extremely proud now that its tuesday and over 48 hours from that loss and no matter how how it will take for the steeler fans at my work to get off my back... I think I can see the positives and take a little of that sting away. We could have been talking next season 2 weeks ago but instead we were talking superbowl glad to be able to have had that possiblilty in my mind for the thrid year now. Hopefully next year it will happen and be able to think about a superbowl for the fourth year in a row and maybe even get there.. who knows but Ill be there at M&T in September yelling again for my favorite team in the NFL.

How are we spoiled? We have won one superbowl,if we were Patriot fans sure,we are spoiled. But we are not spoiled. We should of won that game, but terrible reffing and turning it over and 3 stright drives lost it for us. I am not happy with out offense, and most likly until we remove Cameron and see how it goes

this season was one of the most disappointing seasons ever, this was our only and best chance at SB, we were loaded with talent, i think its gonna take at least 3-5 more years for us reach SB, b/c we're probably gonna lose a lot talents through FA's think about it, if we dont re-sign most of these FAs:
mcclain- slim chance of him returning,b/c we never let run the ball,
carr- we need re-signhim ASAP
wilson- we need re-signhim ASAP
ngata- costly re-sign, but we need him
koch-we need re-sign him ASAP
willis- might have to take a pay cut to stay, i hate to see him leaving.
washington- out here
landry- good run stuffer, need to keep him around
bulger- franchise him, if someone signs him we get draft picks
cundiff-we need re-sign him ASAP
yanda-we need re-sign him ASAP
chester- replaceable thru draft
gaither- if he's healthy, sign him,
housh- if mason retires, housh is good option
stalworth- never used his speed, thanx CAM, we need him to stretch the D along w/reed, u have to have speedster in the NFL now, just look at the final four teams, they all have atleast one speedster.

1st time posting. The game is too big for Harbs. He is not qualified to be a head coach. Biscotti & Newsome have really screwed up this team. Why hasn't alochol been mentioned in regard to Kindle's fall? He had 2 DUI incidents in college. Cody is too fat and out of shape to play at this level. We could have drafted Devin McCourty at 25. That might have made a diff on 3rd and 19. Webb is playing out of position. He should be groomed as Reed's replacement. I say Rex Ryan & Mark Sanchez win a SB before Harbs & Flacco. Flacco looks more "Boelleresque" every day. This team and its coaches need to be blown up and rebuilt. This is a result of Atlanta jumping ahead us 3 years ago and drafting Matt Ryan.

Or a Bills fan, like most of my family is. They said "at least your team made it to the playoffs"! Imagine how stressful it is to be a Bills fan.

Yeah, we sure do stink. A 12-4 record and three consecutive playoff berths is just plain bad  I think you're looking for the "Crying Thread".

Good thread. I would add my thanks for all the thrills and spills of this season. I've been guilty of tunnel vision, not appreciating the wins, however they were achieved, enough. Looking around, my co-workers who are Cowboy and Bengals fans sure would have liked to have traded places this year. Better to contend and lose than be hapless with no hope. A play here or there going the other way and we're in a different situation. That's the game, and we were never blown out, always in the contests usually until the last play.
In thinking of the whole season, for me, I'll never forget the OT interception pick six by Wilson in Houston. That was fantastic, as were other moments too numerous to mention.
Thanks again for this thread.
