Hue Jackson is new Raiders coach.

And look for Al Saunders to be Hue Jackson's likely offensive coordinator.
Now it's not official that Saunders will be the OC but it looks that way.

I would have loved to see Saunders be the replacement to Cam, but I guess thats not happening.

The week just gets worse and worse....

I wouldn't have minded Al Saunders taking a shot at being our OC. He knows the team and a little change is all we need.

Oh well. I'm not even sure how much consulting Cam let him down in regards to the game plan.

That joke would have been better in person, sorry.

"Who?" "Hue?" Get it?

Aaron Wilson is saying that QB coach Jim Zorn won't be back too

Which strongly hints that Cam is prolly not coming back

For a QB coach I didn't see coaching improvement in Joe to keep Zorn around. The play against the Steelers where he ran out of bounds can't be going on, and it seems like it does a lot. Flacco is still responsible for making plays, but I not very confident in Zorn. But that's just my opinion.

Not Pagano, he's one of the better assistants in the league, and he's done a tremendous job with our DBs
Damn, if it comes to losing Pagano, I would just offer him the same position as D Coord on our team...

The rumor is Hue could tap into our coaching base since he has a lot of strong coaching ties to them. Chuck being one of many.

Pagano has done a stellar job with the pieces given and the adversity dealt. FO should make sure they don't let him go. He knows how to get guys to play as a unit.

Pagano also has ties to the Raiders. He was there in 2006 when the secondary only allowed 151 yards per game...

I would be surprised if a coach who had ties with the Raiders Org would want to go back there and risk being fined/fired/humiliated.

If he's going back, it'll have to be for a nice contract and because he wants to be part of Hue's crew.

I'm surprised Hue wouldn't retain play-calling duties a la Sean Payton... Saunders knows the AFC West, so that'll be a good fit. I think teams should get some sort of compensation for their coaches continually being sniped.

So how come there is no news for Cam departing?

Cam stays and the rest leaving? :34853_shakehead:

We'll find out in a few days once Steve B meets with everybody. Steve knows the pulse of the fans on this matter and he's seen the proof in the pudding as well.

I wouldn't be shocked either way. Steve might be willing to give Cam one more year , instead of having to go through another turnover.

So you're saying Mr. Bisciotti is ok with throwing away another season with a coach who has regressed and held us back from winning a title?

Considering he has much more invested in the Ravens than any of us, if he brings back Cam, I don't think he'd see it as "throwing away another season". Neither would I when you consider how the Ravens lost Saturday night.

I think 3 years are enough to grade someone's performance. If Steve doesn't want to make change now, it'll be another heart broken ended season.

Steve is a great owner and I hope he made the right decision for the franchise.

Installing a new offense isn't as seamless as it seems. Steve and the FO will probably look at the availble options and if they can find somebody that fits their aim and scheme. The move will be made.

But they aren't going to just fire Cam for the sake of firing him.

I don't want Cam to return to but taking that stance is a defeatist mentality. As a fan, it doesn't affect the team at all but I'm not going to think the Ravens have no shot because one coach doesn't get canned, especially when the player personnel is by no means perfect.

Of course not, but Joe and the entire offense are clearly struggling to really break out in Cam's system, and change is needed.

It happened, Saunders is officially the OC for the Oakland Raiders

Jason Campbells' offseasons don't get any easier...

Good for Saunders.

But your right about Jason. Poor, poor Jason. He is the poster child of what not to do to a QB. Way to many different systems. Instead of learning how to better his technique he instead has to learn new playbooks, terminology and systems, year after year.

That's another argument for keeping Cam around. At least Joe doesn't have to worry about learning a new offensive system. He can spend the offseason and TC working on his technique.
