The Glass Being 1/2 Full.........

10 posts in this topic

To be a Ravens fan at this time is probally a whole lot better than being a Patriots fan, beings as though they had the most expectation to go all the way,all announcers, analysts and bloggers constantly saying they're the team to beat all year...So as a fan I bet they are a bit livid at what happened yesterday......

I like to be an optimist but looking at what other teams are dealing with still doesn't make me feel much better how what transpired Saturday night.

The patriots are a young team. But our team had everything lined up and i really don't think we will be this good next year. We had 3 pro bowl receivers, a QB in his 3rd year, defense playing lights out(even with age), everything had lined up perfect.....

As the resident optimist here, I applaud the effort at trying to look at things with the glass half-full. I, however, won't be joining that movement until next month, most likely.

It's pretty bad if even I'm still angry a couple days after a loss, and I usually get over losses pretty quickly.

Well the Patriots went 14-2 in what was a rebuilding year. They also have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds so they can really retool, which is harder for the Ravens who have 17 free agents. I think this year was the hardest because a lot of veteran players that fans love (Lewis, Reed, Mason, etc;) are close to hitting retirement and wanted an opportunity to see them go out as champions. That's what hurts the most about this season.

But to pile onto the optimism...

The Ravens play the NFC West (the worst division in football) and the AFC South (outside of the Colts, not very good). I know teams change ever year, but you have to be pretty optimistic about the Ravens chances of looking towards a 10+ win season and being a contender once again.

If we win the division, we'll have a much easier road to the SB. No matter what can be said about the Ravens, we practically never lose games were heavily favored in.

I feel better about Saturday night. I mean, 29 teams have to sit around and watch the Superbowl, not everyone's going to be in it, some teams don't even make the playoffs. It could be worse- we could be Redskins fans! Ravens will go at least 11+wins next season, I guarantee it! Next year we'll be most likely keeping Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Mase, Heap, Koch and Birk, so we'll be all good! Go Ravens!

Haha, I get over losses about a week later, and somehow I'm almost fine with this Pittsburgh loss- well not fine, I'm aggrivated that Steelers played like that (possibly cheating), and think that we definitely should have won, but I mean, you have to get over a loss eventually, and I know this hurt- but no matter what the ending score was, we played as the better team.

That is the toughest part for me.
I expected I'd feel better today about the loss. But nope, not yet.

I am optimistic about next year, though. But I always am....

Better to be a Raven fan whose team played this past weekend than a fan of a team who did not and there are a lot.
