The Fix This Team Needs

28 posts in this topic

In the offseason there is only 2 free agents this team should target. Mathias kiwinuka would make a good olb opposite of suggs. And nnamdi who would help us immensly in pass defense. we need to resign haloti to. This is what the starting lineup should look like. qb-joe,hb-ray rice,fb-leron mcgahee has to go to make cap room,ol,lt-gaither,lg-grubbs,c-birk while teaching draft pick,rg-yanda,rt-oher,wr-boldin and 1st round draft pick,Te-heap.Our defense nt-cody gregg has to go for cap room and cody will need to get his weight at about 320.re-ngata,le-redding,olbs,kiwinuka and suggs kiwinukas pass rush skills would be a major help. mlbs-jj and ray lewis jj at 260 wold help stuff the run.cbs-aso and fox.safetys-reed and landry.2nd and 3rd round picks should go to a center and mlb to learn behind ray and birk.

Has Kiwanuka ever played in the 3-4? I'm not convinced he'd be a good fit for the 3-4.

Asomugha is going to get big bucks from another contender. I don't think he'll come here.

The Ravens have to re-tool through the draft in my opinion.

I noticed to had J.J. as an ILB. I don't think he'd be a good fit there.

JJ moved from nose tackle to OLB, hes one of our best cover LBs and run stuffers. I think he could make the move. Plus he seems to be willing be the "thumper" to eat up the FB so Ray can make the tackle

Kindle could be brought back and medically cleared. Even if he isn't though, I have a feeling the Ravens will draft a rush Lb. There's no standout at ILB but Jameel and Ellerbe still have potential. It really isn't hard to draft one either.

I could see the Ravens making a move on him but we'll see if they do.

I think Ravens most need help on O-line. Ravens can't run well on good teams and when Flacco stars getting hit/pressured he loses it. The look on his face becomes like that of a 7 yr old who lost his parent at the mall. I get spooked myself at home just looking at him. Nobody is going to mistake Flacco for Joe Montana anytime soon. It would be easier to beef up the OL than to hope Flacco starts to play with piss and vinegar.

Isn't Champ Bailey a free agent? Not only is he still a shutdown corner, but we could get him cheaper than Nnamdi. I mean, I would love if we could somehow get Nnamdi, but he's gonna be asking for a lot of money probably and we have many players to re-sign (especially Ngata who's going to get paid A LOT).

I could definitely see Kiwanuka getting looked at though. We need another pass rusher besides Suggs and he could fill that role. Whether it's Kiwanuka, Kindle (if he's cleared to play), or if we draft another pass-rushing LB remains to be seen.

Champ has reportedly said he wants to play safety to prolong his career. Even though he'll probably be cheaper than Asomugha, I can still see a contender forking over more cash than the Ravens are willing to pay for him.

Why would you want your 3-4 NT to be 320 pounds? Think the Steelers or Patriots ask Hampton or Wilfork to stop eating donuts? Your 3-4 NT has to be big and strong at the point of attack.

Well, I definitely wouldn't overpay for Champ, but if he's willing to take a little less money to get on a serious championship contender then I would love to have him. That's based on him playing corner though and not at safety seeing as we don't really need another safety at the moment.

we need people that we all ready drafted or will draft, we dont need to sign anyone as FA's, we need people within, we could use HARPER instead of James hardy, Mcclellan is in PS he looks like clone of james harrison, we signed stalworth but we never used him, thanx cam, all we need is draft olineman in first 3 rounds, thats all. we need resign carr, wilson, ngata, stalworth, housh, koch, cundiff, houser, yanda, chester, mcclain (and let him run the ball),

nnamdi yes is a dream and will prolly go to the eagles or chargers who want him. kiwinuka should definetly be getable. our oline problem will be ok when they give gaither a contract and the lt spot and his pride back.oher dont care where he plays. Then the only o line problem is center with the aging birk.Wr will probably be our top pick our corner one will be a big name free agent and the other will be the 1st round draftpick.

werd. JJ i probably the second best ILB on the team playing OLB. He has no lateral agility so rushing off the edge never seemed to make much sense for him. He is money in pass coverage for a LB though, so it makes more sense.

I don't know if he'll ever be a three down guy but if he can trim some weight, put on some muscle and improve things like gaining leverage and avoiding getting chopped, he'll be a fine player. Even if he's not a starter, the Ravens need an interior pass rusher who can get penetration like a Barry Cofield.

You guys see under yahoo sports rumors it says chargers are gunna pursue nnamdi watch they will break bank to get him and let vincent jackson go and still suck haha. What do you guys think of vincent jackson coming to baltimore i think the price tag will be to high maybe if mason retired prolly still wouldnt happen though.site here http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Chargers-going-after-Asomugha-;_ylt=Ato3Dv2_xAIj8Vq3klohDMI5nYcB?urn=nfl-307546

thats like saying if mark clayton ran better routes, improved his quickness and worked on body control he'd be a fine reciever lol...I mean, there's not much to playing DT -- size and strength, good technique and shedding blocks are the only real requirements. And as you mentioned, Cody needs work in every aspect. What the heck does he bring to the table?? (other than a knife and fork lmao)

Wilfork is like 400 pounds, like a literal 400 pounds. Cody doesnt need to be a 3 down lineman, Hampton isnt a 3 down lineman and comes out when the Steelers goto their nickel package.

What I said was obvious but is not true?

During the season, all he brought was sheer mass, strength and the occasional display of athleticism for his size. I hope he does more next season and believe he will but the team never drafted him to be a pass rusher.

of course its true, which is why I had to quote that, since you know I hate (well, dont like) fatboy...just saying that everything you need to be to be an effective DT, Cody needs to improve on.

Sure. But if he does improve, he could be Big Baby lite.
