It says the he would only return if he took a "drastic" pay cut. This is from the Carroll County Times, so I'm sure that a lot of you have seen it.

What do you guys think the Ravens will do with the RB position? Do we draft one to compliment Rice, or pick up an FA?

Probably try to make Parmele an everyday back. If Cams still here he'll rely mainly on Rice anyway. Can't see them spending a draft pick on a RB and anyone decent in the FA market will cost us more than we are probably will to pay.

I don't think that Parmele is talented enough to be our change of pace back. I was thinking someone with a lot of speed. Is Curtis Steele still on the roster?

I love Willis though D:

So do I, but I think it's time.

Willis is the one offensive player we have who has had somewhat consistent success against Pittsburg. So it figures we'd let him walk.

Seriously though. We saw this coming a couple years ago. His salary is just too big for a backup running back.

I'm just not sure what we have in Parmele. He's gotten very few touches in meaningful games and I can't even remember any decent performances in preseason games. Unless we draft/sign somebody he would be our backup running back.

I didn't want to cause World War Three, so I avoided that lol. But I agree, he doesn't have anything to offer us anymore.

Its cool no world war 3, just sometimes despite popularity you have to move on. I would love for us to find an arian foster or blount in the draft

I saw this coming. His contract was backloaded and it isn't worth keeping him around at that price tag especially since we have so many starting free agents.

I fully expect a whole new backup backfield next year. We'll see if Steele or Parmele turn the corner and take that backup spot.

I don't think the team necessarily needs a speed back. Rice isn't a burner but he's got burst.

Steele still is on the roster and will probably battle for spot on the team next year. I actually like him more than Parmele.

I think we all saw this coming since the day we drafted Rice.I love Willis, want nothing but happiness for him. Hopefully he'll take a pay cut and stay, but I have no hard feelings if he doesn't. I'm sure he has personal goals of his own that he'd like to achieve that doesn't involve being a backup.

Here's a question: Do you guys think that Willis would take a pay-cut to come back? It seems like he's enjoyed his time on the Ravens so I wouldn't rule it out, but I can definitely understand if he would rather just move on.

I just think that a speed back will add a whole new dimension to the offense. Rice can pound it in between the tackles, then we send out the other back that we can throw some tosses too and burn the defense. But I agree, I really like Steele as well.

can't have probowler backups at every position. I think we were overloaded with quality backups this past season. I love Willis but we can't keep him as our backup much longer.

As for his replacement, i think it's almost certain we go bargain hunting on the FA market. This draft is barren of quality prospects at RB. If we do draft one, which I highly doubt since Parmele probably has more potential than any of the late rounders, it wont be til near the end of the draft.

Maybe he could be traded to the Packers? I recall around week 6 there was speculation that he didn't play in the Patriots game because of the trade deadline and the Packers could have been a suitor. Maybe that's a possibility if he doesn't take a pay cut.

Well if we want to keep Rice fresh towards the end of the season we need a reliable back-up. That means no Parmele or Steele of course. If McGahee is not back,McClain could be a happy man , show him the money and make him a lock for +100 carries per season

McGahee is a great team guy and it wouldn't surprise me if he did. Because he is at that age when RBs decline.

But I have to believe he thinks he can still cut it elsewhere (which may be the case). If that's true than its either pay him or cut him. Let him test being free, and if nothing is out there, offer him the lower contract.

I think Willis goes and we re-sign McClain on a contract we could now afford, as well as the extra carries he'd want.

I like Willis, but he's probably a luxury we can no longer afford due to his contract.

But not many of those RBs are available. Around the league, Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles and a few others are the only RBs that can really burn a defense.

What this team needs to focus on is upgrading the WR corps, improving the o-line and getting Joe to take further steps in his development.

I think the only way we keep McGahee is if he takes a pay cut. We all love him, but the guy has a crazy contract for his diminished role and I highly doubt anyone would be willing to trade for him.

As far as a back-up to Rice, I really like the potential of Curtis Steele. Put some weight on him in the offseason and he could be quite the bruiser.

I don't think the Packers are in the market for a RB anymore. Kuhn has been doing really well, and Starks has come into his own. Plus they'll get Ryan Grant back.

Mr Magoo is as good as gone. I dont think Parmele will be the answer either. Im hoping we'll have a real blocking FB and two backup HBs. Considering they could both contribute on ST when willis didnt, it is convceivable to have 4 active RBs.

Is Ronnie Brown a free agent? It would be nice to see him in the backfield, depends how much hes gonna be asking for though
[/quote]

He is a FA but turns 30 in December and I could see some other teams overpaying him.
