Unsung Hero

21 posts in this topic

I just felt like creating a consolidated topic to recognize the unsung players this season. Who do you feel it was? Carr, Koch, Redding, Wilson, Koch, Heap?

EDIT: I give up. I attempted to make a poll but it didn't work for some reason. I'm done making polls.

Not really unsung, but Kock and Kundiff definitely. Also worth mentioning; Morgan Cox (long snapper) (before his season ending injury)

its Cundiff :)

Carr gets this one.Not only for his fine coverage, but at a time where no one could force turnovers, he was intercepting Tom Brady (one of only four people to do so this year!).

I think there are so many really talented players on the team it is hard to pick out just one as an unsung hero. Though I finally heard some media types praising Heap, I think he is one of the most unsung hero's, every year, on the team. I also think Mason does not get the respect he deserves. Koch and Cundiff are not unsung, they get praised all the time, and rightfully so.
Jerret Johnson, always seems to be pushed to the back behind, Suggs, Ngata, Lewis, and Reed.

Cundiff certainly does but I don't think people grasp how valuable Koch was to the team this season. Plus, his Pro Bowl snub qualifies him as unsung in my opinion.

Carr certainly exceeded all of my expectations. Forced Fumbles, Fumble recoveries, INTs and great open field tackling ability. He really stepped up in a big way for us this year!

Jarret Johnson. He was still lingering from a shoulder injury in the beginning of the season, but he really stepped up in the second half and played much better. The defense was getting better when he got more healthy. Also broke the Ravens record for most consecutive games played.

The Pro Bowl snub was bad. I may be wrong but I think the results of the fan voting had Koch in and Cundiff out. It wasn't until the rest of the votes came in that it was reversed.

Carr, Koch and Cundiff by far. And props to Terrell Suggs for going through with his word and having a much better year.

It's a shame Webb wound up being the goat for giving up that 58 yard reception, becaue up until that point I would have said him. He had 1 nice kick return plus the punt return TD that was wrongfully called back.

Carr, Wilson, Zbikowski (when he filled in for Reed), Cory Redding. I wouldn't necessarily say Koch and Cundiff were unsung as they got a lot of national praise, but regardless they were fantastic.
