Obviously things could change once Harbaugh has his meeting with Bisciotti and Ozzie and of course, we don't if Sergio will even be cleared to play football but this is relatively good news.

I still think the pass rush will be need to be addressed whether he's re-signed and cleared but having a young talent like Kindle would go a long way to bolstering the D next season.

Harbs is too PC. According to Harbs, the team is still committed to everybody. Then once they go a different direction he'll come out and say "Hell of a player, but we decided that they aren't in our future".

But in regards to Kindle. I'm not ready to give up on him yet either. But he needs to get on the field.

Why wouldn't they be? If they weren't they would lose their first pick of last years draft. Its really up to Kindle if he is committed to the Ravens. He has to make smart decisions and try to make something of himself in the NFL.

So true. He's the PC King.

I agree. With the amount of players we may not see in our uniforms next year, it only makes sense to try and keep Kindle. If he is cleared to play, his potential is just too promising, especially for how little the Ravens would have to pay him.

Giving up on Kindle unless we were pretty sure he would not make a full recovery, would be huge. He was our first pick in the draft last year, and he could really give us some much needed youth and pass rush out of our linebackers.

Heres a quote from Kindle :
"The guys never lost trust in me. It's just me and my decision-making," Kindle said in the locker room as his teammates cleaned out their lockers. "That's what it's mainly about. I just have to make better decisions. Grow up and be a man because that's what it takes to be in the NFL. You have to be a man, not only in football. It's about what you do outside the field because you're seen by everybody nowadays, and you've got to be able to handle the spotlight as much as you want it."

He sounds like he knows what its going to take at the NFL level, lets hope what he says and what he does equal each other.

Agreed. Him getting medically cleared seems to be the biggest hurdle right now.

I want the Ravens to draft the best LB available at #26. They seriously need an OLB to help out Suggs.

If Kindle is medically cleared it will be great news. I always like it when players defeat personal battles and can overcome these hurdles to live up to their potential. Sergio is a great physical talent, one of the best prospects in last years draft. I hope he can live up to expectations and make an impact for this defense that needs some youth put in place.

Hope he can recover...if he can't do it in 8 months I do not think there is any hope for him playing so next season is pretty much his last chance to get onto the field and make better life decisions.

He has a lot of potential and I hope he is able to make it.

He does, now he just has to act upon it. Words are just words. Actions are the true test of character.

This line in the article gives me hope Kindle will eventually be cleared.
Kindle, who has participated in physical therapy with the team, said he has finally been given the green light to take part in noncontact football drills.

Thats really great news :)

And y'know, I am glad we're sticking with him. He's so talented ,and its not like he killed anyone either. He's a football player not a preacher. On top of that, he's shown remorse for the situation.

Excellent news! Ill keep my hopes up for the kid. It would be a great story to see him overcome this, and become a dominant force for the Ravens pass rush.

+1

It would be stupid to give up on Kindle especially when we have a lot of issues to address through the draft. OLB hopefully won't be one of them if Kindle is cleared.

The potential is there if he is healthy. He deserves a chance to at least show what he can provide if he is healthy and begins to make smart life decisions.

A lot of teams were leery of Kindle and I was instantly sorry the Ravens weren't one of them when they picked him.
Hard to pass up that talent when it slips into the second round. It was impossible to predict the skull fracture.

If Kindle is cleared to play, and can get help for his apparent drinking, there is no reason to give up on him.
If his injury or giving up drinking makes him not play as hard, than we might have something to say...
