Which "win" Would Be More Painful To You?

38 posts in this topic

as Ravens fans watching the AFC Championship battle to go to the Superbowl....

which would be more painful for you to watch?

1. a Steelers win? (Ravens arch-rivals)

2. a Jets win? (Rex Ryan...former Ravens D.C. and known loud-mouth)

I keep flip flopping. But in the end, the Steelers win would be worse. They are our division rivals and they will continue to talk smack and then would be given even more ammo.

We needed this game much like the Jets needed to take out the Pats, to keep this rivalry honest.

How any Ravens fan could root for the Steelers is beyond me. Go Jets.

Come Super Bowl I don't care who wins. I'd love for Ladanian Tomlinson to get a ring, he deserves it. But I'd lean more towards an NFC team winning it. No one other than the Ravens should win the SB coming out of the AFC.

The Steelers winning again would hurt more but th Jets winning would create even more useless discussion on this forum.

i hate the steelers but my friend is a jets fan. He always says mark sanchez is beast and better then flacco. He overall is annoying everytime the jets win. he is like rex ryan. So i just hope the jets go but lose to whoever the nfc is(packers?)

Its clear that we can't win in either situation.

Even if one team losses. The Jets got past their hump and made it to two consecutive AFCCG games. That will still be used as ammo in this forum for people pimpin Rex. The Steelers lose, they still trumped us and still have 2 SB rings since our 1.

...I'll take the loudmouth behind door #2, I'd rather see the Jets win. If I'm supposed to show some AFCN conference loyalty I apologize...I cannot form my lips to say "Go steelers"....

i actually feel the same way and like all of Rex's bravado, trash-talking and arrogance.

look....it has gotten his team to the AFC Championship 2 years in a row.

Both would hurt really bad for me, so I'm not even going to watch it. I'll stick to the NFC championship.

I'll be the biggest NFC fanboy in America.

It's going to be lousy either way, but I will always hate Pittsburgh more than any other team in the league. Rex Ryan's mouth can do nothing to change that.

I couldn't care less about who wins the AFC this year. I'm sick of all this talk about the overrated Jets with their loud mouth coach and laughable quarterback, and I'm sick of Pittsburgh every year. The Jets win and we have to hear all the talk about "Rex should have been our coach!" and the like. The Steelers win and I have to hear about "We're going to get our seventh ring!" from every freaking person in my town. It's a lose-lose situation.

I'd second a Bears-Packers Super Bowl.

After thinking this over... I'll also take the Loudmouth behind door # 2 as well because even though I hate the Jets and their over rated team, I wouldn't be able to stomach the Steelers being in the Super Bowl after beating us. I just hope that the Packers beat the Bears because if the Bears win it will be a guarantee that whoever wins the AFC Title will win the Super Bowl because the Bears stand no chance to beat either the Steelers or Jets. I'll put it this way, if the Packers with Matt Flynn almost beat the Patriots, than I'm pretty sure that the Pack with Aaron Rodgers could beat the Jets and the Steelers.

GO PACKERS!

I tend to believe that a Steelers win in the AFC Championship would be more painful, as far as the psyche goes, because the Steelers are our rival, and I also believe that there is a certain amount of arrogance coming from Pittsburgh - certainly from the Steelers - and if allowed to run unchecked, this could lead to a much more dangerous situation.

Considering the Steelers didn't even win this past weekend, and were just GIVEN a ticket to the AFC Championship by the Ravens/officials... they don't deserve to go any further.

On top of that, any team that goes to Indianapolis and beats Peyton Manning, then goes to New England and beats Tom Brady... DESERVES to play in a Super Bowl. I'm shocked the Jets were able to get by two of the NFL's and officials' favorite QBs in their home stadium. I thought for sure the NFL would make sure to have one of their marquee QBs in the big game.

Either way, go Rex! You deserved a Super Bowl ring in 2006, but were sabotaged. Glad he's doing it his way, and not letting anyone else stand in his way.

Definitely for the Jets this weekend, AND in the Super Bowl!

Not surprising since you were cheering for Loud Mouth Rex and The Jets since week one... of last year.

I'd like to see the Steelers beat the Jets, then watch the Packers beat the Steelers in the SB. Many of us here hate the Patriots and Colts and we have already seen those teams lose in the SB lately, why not watch the Steelers lose in the SB?

Because there's always the possibility that they win... then we have to hear about seven rings.

I hope the Jets win. With the Jets we at least have some highly regarded (while they were here) ex-Ravens to root for...the Steelers in the Super Bowl again would just be disheartening, them winning would be unbearable.

That said I am hoping the Pack win it all.

I don't care which one goes to the SB as long as they get destroyed, embarrassed, beaten down by the NFC.

My dream now is for us to beat Indy in the AFCCG next year...the prize? Playing the SB in Indy!

A Jets win would be more painful for me, because then we'll have to hear even more blowhard comments from Rex in the media and lots of threads from folks here on the boards who are licking Rex's boots (which I hear he likes) about how we should have hired him over Harbaugh back in 2008. At least when Tomlin wins, he's excited, but he also has some class and dignity about it as well. I would expect the opposite from Rex.

I've accepted the fact that one team is going to the Superbowl. More power to them.

What I have my sights set on is the idea that one of these teams will have to lose. It is the loss that I am going to bask in. If Jets lose, it's three straight AFCCG for Rex with no results. We can call him the 'Eagle'. If Steelers lose, there will be no sevenburgh in Pittsburgh.

Glass is half-full.

I hope the Packers and Jets win their games and then the Packers win the Super Bowl that way the term"Stairway to Seven" can be put to bed for at least another year.

Is this honestly even a question? It's not about rooting for the Jets, as it is rooting against the Steelers. I'm shocked to see a single fan claim to be able to cheer for Pittsburgh. Even if Rex does win, he'll be another coordinator forever linked to the success other DCs have had in the NFL after being mentored in Baltimore.

A Jets win would be more painful to me. I hate the Jets. Call me stubborn but I think they are just as overrated as the Bears (with the exception of Revis). I hate how much love Sanchez gets and they also talk smack. I hate the Steelers but at least I have respect for them for what they have accomplished as a franchise without talking smack much as an organization.
