Anyone Else Questioning The HC Choice

You do know what happened with the Jets offense this year right? They lost a game 9-0 to the Packers, lost a game 10-6 to the Dolphins in just an awful showing, put up 3 points against the Pats, and only put 9 against us even though they started all their drives at liek their own 40, and we started ours at our own 9 in the 2nd half.

But no Rex would never put up with such shenanigans of an offense!

I heard he can also walk on water, no?

I'd be happy with Rex or John. I'm not questioning the decision at all, Harbaugh is a fantastic coach, but Rex is too, no matter how many of you want to deny it. He turned a no-name defense into an outstanding one. Two straight years as a HC in the AFCCG, with Mark Sanchez. Thats impressive by itself.

I'm not saying Rex is better, but I'd be more than happy to have either. Though, I much prefer Rex's mentality to John. Rex has the killer instinct, John's a nice guy.

I have no question for the HC choice. We are good with Harbs, and all he need is a SB to shut whiners up.

Yes he does. He came scoreless against Greenbay, getting asswhooped by NE, and owned by Miami. Again he does have instinct :empty trophy case:

He came out strong in the first half against Pittsburgh. And his 'no shenanigans' offense not scoring on the goal-line was a thing of beauty! Oh that's right, their offensive coordinator is still there, too...

He made it further than us. And he asswhooped NE in the playoffs when it mattered, didnt he?

His defense, aside from NE, was also killer

His team also reverted back to the inconsistent play they'd shown all year in the biggest game of the year against the Steelers going down 24-3 at half. And he made it one game further than us, its not like we didnt make the playoffs or something.

Exactly. Going "one game further" doesn't matter unless you get the ring.

And who knows what would've happened if they had to the face the Steelers one game earlier. Maybe we could've went into NE and beat them. That's two years in a row they have been flat in the playoffs. People want to glorify the Jets. But what about what we did to them the prior year?

Theres showing your fustrations in a professional responsible manner, and then theres acting like a little kid who doesnt get his way. Rex just doesnt scream professional to me, and Id rather have a professional quality as one of the qualities in my coach.

In all honesty, I'm more peeved about them going further than us for one reason alone. This means that Sanchez now has more playoff wins in his first two years than Joe does, which frustrates me so much because Sanchez is not on the same page as Joe is. If there's any QB who rides his team in this league, it's Sanchez.

I don't really care about Rex going further again. I'm sure he feels it makes no difference because if you don't win it all, you win nothing at all.

I think we made the right choice in getting a outside guy when we cut Billick. I say this because Billick lost control of the locker room and if we brought an inhouse coach it could have been the same stuff going on just a different head guy. I think it was best to bring in a out of house guy to put in a new message.

Well to be fair, Sanchez has performed pretty well in the playoffs. He hasn't done anything to really cause them to lose and has contributed a good portion to their victories.

He definitely has the help of a very talented and well rounded team, but it's not like he stinks out there. I think he is well deserved of those playoff wins.

Anyone who is contemplating this idea should ask one simple question:

What has Rex Ryan accomplished that John Harbaugh hasn't?

He made it to the AFCCG 2 years running with IMO a lesser QB. That said, I don't think Rex would be a better fit here. I like Harbaugh here. I think he's done some good things as far as disciplined football and fundamentals.

With the current move to increase Cam's responsibilities to include QB coach, I am now wondering a bit though.

I might be inclined to agree, but I'm sure there are plenty who would argue the level of QB play. And again, the Jets backed in last year. Still, they both had running games and I think the Jets #1 and #2 WR's are better than the Ravens this year. I might not have said that in the beginning of the year, and the stats may dispute me, but they came through in key games during the regular season and in that Divisional game.

The Ravens' running game sucked for the most part this season.

The back-to-back AFCN games is more than Harbaugh can say. Regardless, I'm happy that John is the HC of this team.

You mean AFCCG's?

Like I said, yeah they won two play off games last year, but if the Colts and Bengals don't rest their starters, it doesn't happen.

:34853_doh: Yep.

The Jets certainly got lucky but they also proved they belonged to an extent by advancing to the AFCC. Granted, they played two somewhat overrated teams, but again, they handled business.

You're debating me, but you're not really taking a stance. I realize I left myself a bit open with my original question, but I was hoping to avoid the "well technically" stuff.

Overall, Rex has accomplished nothing that Harbaugh hasn't. Harbaugh has also had the better record these last two seasons.

To be fair, John Harbaugh and Brian Billick have been known to blow their lids at times. Those affairs were during the game, though, and mostly directed at referees.

What Rex did was different. That just shows he was pissed off with his D for not getting a stop, even though he talked them up to be the 2000 Ravens. Not quite. That's showing childish anger in a loss - ala Bart Scott throwing a flag into the stands.

That and Harbaugh started with an inferior team. 5-11 < 9-7.
