Strongly disagree. From 2007 to 2008, nothing changed on defense besides Fabian Washington....

Rex brought in a lot of guys. I dunno how you can say that he didnt.

Thomas Jones? Ugh, Willis McGahee.
Dustin Keller? Todd Heap
David Harris, Kerry Rhodes? Ed Freakin' Reed and Ray Lewis.

Sorry, you normally have very interesting opinions that I respect but I just can't agree with you on this one, man.

Nothing changed? Really? We got word of Ed's neck impingement, Ray was another year older, so was Pryce, Gregg missed the entire season, McAlister got hurt and went to the IR and Landry got hurt.

Rex signed a lot of player this past off-season but not in '09. I was wrong to say Rex hasn't built crap but I don't believe he's had to deal with as much transition as Harbaugh.

Did you see the way McGahee for most of '08? Jones was a better player.

Heap is a better player than Keller but wasn't right in '08.

Harris an Rhodes obviously aren't as good but they aren't slouches.

I understand your argument but I just disagree that Harbs had to make more moves to rebuild the team. I honestly would say its about even. They both did things very similarly but yeah our aging defense did need to get fixed (still does though).

Like Berad said, Is that Rex or Tennabaum? Could be said is that Harbaugh or Ozzie?

Harbaugh had input but I'm pretty sure Ozzie has final say. It's not about whose made more moves, it's about which coach had to deal with more adversity and a dearth of talent when he took over. In my opinion, since taking over, Harbaugh has.

Ah, very good point. Chicken or the egg - we'll never really know, we're only fans. All we can do is speculate. But, hey, what is this board for?!

Jets or the Steelers...omg what a choice. I'm pulling for the Packers...Aaron Rodgers is white hot right now. I can't see anyone beating the Pack the way they are playing. Aaron Rodgers is an "elite" quarterback...Joe please watch tapes of him in the off season.

Just to further prove my point, look at the current state of the Ravens and Jets right now and which team will face more transition in the off-season. It's obviously the Ravens. The Jets have certainly made some good moves since Rex got there but their corps was already firmly in place before he was hired and best of all, they're relatively young.

In '07 when the Ravens dealt with so many injuries, you saw the lack of depth the Ravens had when key vets went down. Since Harbaugh took over, the Ravens have found a QB and RB since then and drafted some solid players like Oher, Webb and a number of players with potential but so many key players and in the twilight of their careers. We've literally watched some decline in the three year since John became the HC. To me, it just proves how things were tougher for Harbaugh taking over this team.

Honestly, I feel Rex would have been a better HC for us regardless of what happens in the future. That swag that Rex has would put our team over the top in all the close games we lost or the games where we were up for 3 quarters and lose the game in the 4th. Plus, we would run the ball more with Rex at HC.

I'm not really sure that's a good thing

We ran the ball plenty. Really. Look it up.

Would swag have helped the o-line in pass protection or the WRs get more separation? Or made Joe a more polished QB?

I don't yet know the answer to this question.
I do know that it would have been an easier transition for our players had Rex been the HC, but that doesn't mean he'd be a better choice.
I think if what Rex was doing wasn't working his players would give up on him quicker than Harbs, simply because Harbs seems to be more of an authority figure than Rex.
Rex might be more of a brother, and when the Jets have collapsed they have been bad, that never happened with us this season.
The one thing I will give Rex huge credit for, and this might come down to the players he has, but I will give Rex a lot of praise if he wins the SB, having gone through, Manning, Brady, Roethlisberger and most likely Rodgers.
That would be very impressive.

And you know what, it may actually come down to something as simple as that. While running the ball may have been the key to success against the Broncos and Saints, it was a huge downfall against the Patriots and it kept us back in some other games as well. So perphaps Harbs is a better coach for the Ravens than Rex is because he isn't as much of a run first type guy as Rex (or so it would seem). Idk, but like I said, I'm not really gonna dwell on it.

it's takes wolf (bully) to knock out a wolf. Jets can take out the steelers and all will be right.

jets ain't our rival like Pats, steelers, and colts. Jest re-created our team and has coaches that can maxmimize what they do best...especially on offense. Cam thinks he has robots that he can program....least up in NY they realize they have humans with certain talents.

that why i strong belive joe flacco would be even better than 25td's 10int if he played in new england. Only cause brady is proven success in his system would we ave to throw in a 2nd round pick along with flacco to get brady IMO. with our current system...brady couldn't have done better than flacco.

I would still rather have John then Rex. We just need to find a new offensive coord that knows how to use the talent he has.

Really? The only thing that's ridiculous was your statement. If Boldin catches the pass last night and the Ravens win, Joe is going to the AFC Championship. Flacco >> Sanchez

Yea if..if..if..Jets and Steelers can finish off their opponents. Seems like the Ravens can't. Coaches who have blind spots for their players and coordinators are soon unemployeed. As much as I respect Coach Harbough...they collapsed. They should have won the game...oh whatever

He knows they collapsed. He's never been the kind of coach to throw anyone associated with the team under the bus in the media. I'm pretty sure he'll be referencing the game come OTAs and training camp as motivation though(assuming there's football).
