man we need alot of changes first starting wit flacco's punk butt

Hi,
and who would you bring here instead?

As the all-important corporate rule says - never fire someone, however bad he works, until you have the man that will do a better job.

bio

PS: Though, I guess Cameron seems to be an exception from this rule - I guess if it was announced tomorrow that Cam's fired and replaced by Ozzie's golden retriever, people here would jump for joy in unison... :D

@bio

Easier said then done, shutdown corners don't grow on trees, certainly acquiring asmougha would be a huge step but that will take a lot to pull off
Yeah, I guess if it was an easy problem to tackle, we wouldn't have it in the first place...

How's Asomugha's contract status?

Hell if we could pick up Namdi we could possibly let Landry go. We are pretty deep at safety with Zibby, and Haroki, plus if we kept Willson and Carr Webb could play safety like he was drafted if we needed him to.

Well apparently there was a certain aspect within the contract that voided the remainder of the years that he had left on the contract. Therefore that leaves Asomugha as an unrestricted free agent which means any team can go after him. Let's just hope he doesn't hold a 1 hour special on ESPN to tell everybody where he's going to take his talents to.

I question Cam's ability to play call with the lead. It seems that once we get a decent lead Cam throws out some head scratchers.

@frangecko

That's an idea but I would certainly like to see the Ravens pursue Josh McDaniels seeing as he nearly turned Kyle Orton into a pro bowler and was on pace to be the all time leader in nfl history in passing yards per season. I thin mcdaniels is currently interviewing for the 49ers offensive coordinator position.

ngata is top priority, the best tackle in the league and he can play anywhere on the line, sign him back toa lonnnggg deal, namdi is the next priority, up front, cameron needs to go, i think mattison has figured out what is best with our defense and he did well this year, harbs has to step up and start fixing the mistakes his coaches make, i would like to see a lil discipline to go with the fire he has

@EternalBossGang

We as fans aren't the only ones who voiced displeasure over the offensive play calling there was clear frustration from many of the offensive players, Cam severely limits Flacco and I've read that at times he only limits his reads to one half of the field rather than allowing him to read the entire field, that's called handcuffing

Off line coach and/or off coordinator. Joe is constantly under pressure, its not often he gets the chance to set up and let it fly, because when he does he is lights out. Cam HAS to let Joe audibe at the line, it looks like whatever play Cam calls, Joe does it, even if the receiver is covered by 2 men, and lets not forget the 2nd and 17 run calls by Cam. With that said, we still need to get younger on both sides of the ball, I have full confidence in Ozzie but not all the moves he maid paid off but most have. Last years draft by not staying with our #1 pick and taking McCourty I beleive set us back. We really didn't need all those picks its not as if we finished 1-15 the year before. No matter what happens this offseason, we WILL be there next year again and you can count on that! Tough loss, but life goes on. Thanks for the great year Ravens even tho we aren't going to the big game it was a roller coaster year and mostly left us in a victorious mood.

Well, I guess every franchise in the NFL knows exactly what he can offer and how much they are willing/able to pay him... I guess that, just like with most of our Unrestricted contingent, it'll be down to the money... I'm sure the Ravens are good enough a franchise for any players with ambition to come if the money's right...

The problem is that we have a huge number of players who become unrestricted this off-season... It'll surely cost quite some money to keep the ones we want to keep - and I'm sure we'll want to keep most of them - like Cundiff, Koch, McClain, Ngata and (hopefully) Wilson...

Let's hope Biscotti will still have enough in the safe for a star like Asomugha... :)

1. I already know we wont do it so heres the first question. Why wont Ozzie push and get nnamdi since hes a free agent or trade up to a top 5 draft pick to claim Patrick peterson or Prince A this draft seeing as theyre some of the best shutdowns out of college in the draft in a few years.

2. Why dont we get rid of cam cameron? He plays to get a lead and go idle. We need an O coordinator whos not afraid to let it rip and pile on the points to close out a game.

3. Why is mattison still here? Hes the only coordinator handed a BAD *** defense and made it struggle and become unfeared.

4. Why keep laron landry? hes an off and on player. Hes plays well, but this season weve seen him give up a number of Huge plays.... hes inconsistent. We could easily start Zibby in place of him.. Zibby quicker, tackles just as good, if not better AND plays better coverage. He was a great fill in for reed, i think he should play side by side with reed.

5. When will we get a deep threat... Whos tall, fast and can fight for the ball? Masons age has caught up with him despite what many will admit... Housh is a slower more possession guy. Boldin is made for the slot.... quick slant yards after catch (which he is unable to do for us because of how we play him) and stallworth.... hes quick but thats about it.... Not much else if anything to him.

6. What adjustments will be made to our O line? Run game getting stopped 2/3 runs... flacco hit every play.... Thats not cutting it.

7. When will we get suggs some pass rush help? A legit defensive end who big and quick and get to the QB?

Answer those 7 for me front office.

@BioLarzen

LOL nah dump our young up and coming QB and pick up Favre, then well be just fine.
I heard Aikman and Theissman are free and would come quite cheap... I'd personally go with experience rather than risking with young relentless like Favre...

(Just one question, completely off topic, came to my mind mentioning Aikman and Theissman... Just how much money do TV companies pay that keep famous and (SB...) proven coaches like Cowher, Gruden or Billick from getting a HC job at NFL clubs? Must be huuuuuge money...)

Just pray to God that IF mattison is let go that they dont' get Mcdermott from the Eages to run the defense,Harbs knows him well. He is awful! Waht do you all think of making Pagano the Def, coordinator, I think that he did a heck of a job the past 2 yrs with the secondary. Just a thought.

I read on an ESPN AFC West blog that Baltimore would be a possible/likely landing spot as asomugha said that he would love to play with ray lewis and often speaks of him in awe.

@ravens626

In order to maneuver into the top 5 picks of the first round would likely mean forfeiting the rest of our picks in the nfl draft. Don't wanna pull a Mike Ditka like when he forfeited all his picks to move up to the top 5 to draft Rick Williams when he was coaching the Saints

@bio

It's probably if i had to guess 1 million bucks certainly not as much as coaching, but the luxury of virtually being stress free and not being constantly under media fire is a huge incentive for them, also they have an opportunity to spend more time with their family and have a social life.

And who would you give for that top 5 pick? That would require a big name - or more than one respectable ones... Top 10 picks are way too valuable to get them easily... It's a move that only franchises with a really urgent and bad need of a position make, since it requires a huge sacrifice... Someone as huge as Boldin was worth "only" a late first round pick for the Cardinals (the bargain of the decade for us, IMHO...)... Just imagine a top 5 pick...

Thats a good point we have some cute reporters here in baltimore, I would hate to have even more distractions on offense because he sends a picture of his junk to Amber Theoharis. LOL Don't forget about Montanna he is well rested.

1. Sign Haloti for six years. 2.) Get help on the O line 3.) New OC 4.) Keep Cundiff and Koch. Those four are musts, anything after that is gravy.

Well, we are a likely landing spot - but i guess we'll have ur fair share of competition on that :) And as for likely landing spots... I clearly remember, just a day before we signed Housmanzadeh, pundits on NFL.com were discussing the possible landing spots for him - no-one mentioned Baltimore... Still he ended up here (our pleasure, I think...)

After all, i still think it'll all come down to the money we can offer him...

Well, than look into a sweet deal and get nnamdi to baltimore. at this point its ridiculous our secondary has been picked apart. If reed gets no REAL help, i wouldnt be surprised he retires before hes ready, nor would I blame him.

He puts his heart and soul into it just to watch the rest of them get picked apart.

Landry cant play coverage well, Zibby can..... So when zibbys healthy why not start him when hes faster, stronger and better cover and can still run support? Oh and he was ORIGINALLY a SS in college, not a FS.

Carr is good enough to slow down a QB, I dont got many complaints with him, specially with foxworth coming back. But webb? Ive seen 4-6 games now where QBs have their way with him. I think hes a good nickle or back up when a starter need a breather, but hes not starting caliber imo.

We need a true shut down. Its our missing piece. and an amplified pass rush from a LEGIT DE would help also, but I think CB should be one of our top priorities.

1. a LEGIT shut down corner... AKA NNAMDI.
2. Resign nagata.
3. find a LEGIT deep threat receiver... tall, fast, can jump up n fight for the ball.
4. Find someone to replace Gaither. Yes he is good, but I dont believe hes an injured as he claims... Either tell him cut the BS or get off the team and make room for a tackle who wants to play and who can protect flacco/boost our run game.
5. Get a LEGIT DE in this draft. I leave his for last because its important, but if you look @ this years draft, theres lots of depth in pass rush ability.
