The Raven

Tom Cable

I personally think that Cam cam should be fired, and Cable should be brought in as either the OL coach or the OC. He would bring an attitude to the offense that we need, and he would make us run the ball effectively. Not to mention, he was a former OL coach, and could potentially help us greatly at that position. After seeing them pile up the points on the Broncos, and go 6-0 in the division, i want him to be our OC!!!

I would prefer someone who is known to have a good scheme. Someone who can help our receivers get open with those schemes and keep the opposing team off balance.

You're delusional.

Cable's attitude isn't going to help Chester or Birk become better blockers. And he certainly isn't going to help Rice stop stutter-stepping when there's a hole in front of him.

Talent acquisition is more important.

The only reason I would bring Cable to the Ravens is to have him punch Cameron right in the kisser

That I'd pay for.

I'm delusional? Only an honest debate. How mature...

Back on topic, he has whats called the killer instinct as well. In other words, he doesnt take his foot off the pedal. He did fairly well in oakland considering the lack of talent. He's just a back-to-basics kinda guy, who doesnt exactly have a flashy offense, but he has a good offense.

For those opposed, care to elaborate at all?

I mean, Darren McFadden seemed to run well in Cable's system, think he had 1200 yds in 9 games or so. He had a 5.2 average. Thats good OL play. Rice didnt have that much in 16 games. Just saying...

I'm not completely opposed to McDaniels, but his ego is a lil too big, and I prefer a running offense. Idk if he's the right fit here. Harbaugh doesnt like egos.

You're delusional if you think Cable's presence alone will make a big difference with this team's run blocking.

Did John Matsko become a worse coach from '08 to now? No. The o-line personnel got worse.

Because the Raiders have a better run-blocking offensive line! Players play the game! Ray Rice averaging a full yard less per carry this season compared to last comes down to poor o-line play, which is obviously because of a decline in talent and players playing out of position.

It's obvious flacco and cam aren't a good match. We do need a change at OC.
[/quote]

One of them need to go and im not giving up on Flacco just yet, been saying it all yr. Get Cam outta here ive been done with him. Even though i wouldnt put all the blame on him on this game, but he sure as heck didnt help with running on 2 and 17 , with the Stealers D knowing they were going to run. It only works once in a blue moon.

The only thing that will make me feel slightly better is to know that Cam is gone, i dont care who we get right about now.

I'm not saying he alone would make a difference, but y'know what? He couldnt possibly make it worse. Look up the Raiders rushing stats under his OL. Pretty good right?

And you're saying im delusional for thinking he'd help? Our OL is lightyears more talented than theirs, and they ran all over people. Stats dont lie.

Oher has struggled at left tackle all year, Grubbs is steady player but not a mauler, Birk has aged and proven time and time again(even going back to last year) he can't move people like he used to for the Vikings. Chester isn't starting material and Yanda isn't playing his natural position. And even though it wasn't their fault entirely, the o-line surrendered over 50 sacks in the 18 games they played this season

So be honest, how talented is the Ravens o-line really?

Who knows? Cable may help the o-line a bit but again, John Matsko hasn't declined a coach; the production along the o-line have though.

While our OL was below average this year, theirs did allow 47 sacks, I believe. still terrible. In addition, without looking it up, can you name or recognize any of their OL? Only Bruce Matthews comes to mind for me, and thats cuz they took him right before i wanted us to get him. lol

Get McDaniels! He's the best OC in the league if you just do what he says. Denver's management limited him and he still made Kyle Orton and Brandon Lloyd an amazing duo. They are nobodies. Let's be honest.

I really dunno if he'd be the best fit for our team/offense. His ego is a lil too big. also, we've historically been a running offense, i'm afraid he'd turn us into a spread offense, where as we may not have the personel for that next year.

What he's actually good at doing is making an offense that fits the personnel. With the pats he used a papercut offense and witht he broncos he used more deep routes. He is versatile and would help our team. He's smart enough and good enough to help this team.

Well thats good too. I mean, I really dont know much about him other than the crazy passing offenses with NE and Denver. If he can help us win, he's welcome here.

Tom Cable, Josh McDaniels... I dont even care, anyone other than Cam.

Me not knowing their o-line off the top of my head doesn't mean they aren't a good unit and probably better than the Ravens' unit as a group.

Can you name everyone KC's line? Probably not but they had the best rushing attack in the league this season.
