Sounds Like Fabian And Leron Aren't Coming Back

Yeah McClain is a good fullback because of his versatility but he's at least above average in blocking, though. imo

But there are better blocking options.

McClain is a tool to inflate the gap for Rice and McGahee running. He needs to stick what he's good at instead complaining to increase his role. If he worries too much about stats and himself, we need to find another FB that likes to excel his role....

Besides, Cam's offense is to run the ball effectively first which opens more opportunities for passing. We need a #1 deep threat and a good LT in order to work as plan.

PS: What worry me is Cam's uncreativity and inabilty to ingame re-adjusting.

McClain made his first Pro Bowl for being a rushing Fullback (surprised they didn't vote in Hillis this year) and he made his second pro bowl off of reputation. He is not a great blocker, he is average fullback and I think he will demand big bucks and it shouldn't happen.

Completely agree.....his attitude is a bit of a problem/distraction as well.

LeRon McClain wants to be more involved in the offensive game plan, he wants the ball. He did sub in well as HB in 2008 as a emergency HB but I'm sure that the Ravens will not be using him like that unless we have to. I'm also not sure what team would use him like that either. Oh well, good luck with that.

I think its up to Harbs now, if his plan dictates a bruiser, maybe they keep him McClain is a valuable asset, and will be hard to replace.

I disagree. Harbaugh knows the importance of running the rock and so I don't see him deviating from having one.

McClain though, is a good but not great blocker. Blocking FB just as good or better than him, with less individual ambitions can be found.

Whoever McClain goes to, if they give him a FB in front, will be very happy. He has the right attitude, and was wasted in our system. My fav moment was him closing the old Dallas stadium the Raven way.

He's not a HB, even in 2008 when he was our featured back he only had a 3.9 avg. He doesn't have any lateral agility, no cut back potential, and is a 1 gap runner. He'd need to goto a team like the Jets to achieve success as a HB.

Didn't need him to be, got Rice for that. Just North South, Old School style ;)

"Old school style" would have been futile this season.

I like the north/south running at times, but he has no burst and he won't be a guy that scares teams like Peyton Hillis does. He's not an NFL feature back.

We don't need him to be either. He is a change of pace bruiser back, likes to hit people, no dancing. Give him a lead blocker and a head of steam, lookout.

Good riddance, Lay Ron. About time we kick the trash to the curb.I'm in the minority here, but I'm going to miss Fabes.

I agree... Fab would be awesome depth if we could keep him for less$

I agree, after the 09 season everyone thought he was pretty good, and then after the bills game everyone wanted him gone. He is still a good CB, may not be shutdown but then again we really havent had a shutdown CB since the early Chris McCalister days.

Fabian is just too inconsistent to warrant keeping and we're getting Foxworth back anyways. Granted, he'll be coming off a knee injury, but we can rotate in Webb and Carr (assuming he gets re-signed). A secondary of Wilson (once again, assuming we re-sign him), Foxworth, Webb, and Carr isn't too shabby. I would guess that we'll be looking at taking another corner in the draft as well so really, we don't need Fabian.

I don't think mcgahee will be around next year, he's just to good to let him sit on the bench and he deserves to be with a team that starts him. Additionally he gets a lot of money for being in the line up so seldom.

With that being said, I really hope Le'ron stays a Raven and gets some opportunities to bulldose threw the middle, I loved that during the 08 season.

He's not David Pittman but he looks really bad too often. In the last two seasons, I only remember him playing well when tested against the Broncos last October.

Same here. I'd rather have a pure blocking FB, than one that wants the ball in his hands. I've never been the biggest McClain fan because he lacks what the best FBs to the best.
[/quote]
Other than that, he drew a whole lot of flags for being aggressive... We need a more modest FB

I never saw LeRon called for anything that bad.
