I expect a whole new back-up backfield next year.
Same. A new FB and new RBs behind Rice. If Curtis Steele adds some bulk, I think he could be a good backup but really, it isn't hard to find quality RBs or FBs so I'm not too concerned with the unit.

Nobody is going to trade Willis because of the size of his backloaded contract and 2) Willis is going to have to take a pay cut if he wants to remain being a Raven.

I expect a whole new back-up backfield next year.
that is what i want to see!

i say thanks to both McClain and McGahee...BUT....it is time to move into a different direction for the Ravens running game! let them go!

Ray Rice = BEAST!

we need at least another complimentary HB like Rice (for that 1-2 punch) just one who is bigger but just as explosive. and we need a monster at FB.

Ravens top-brass......MAKE IT HAPPEN!

McClain doesn't have the agility or speed or run power to be a good runner like Hillis.

He should stick to blocking, and im afraid some team is actually going to use him more of a runningback.....

Oh well. IM STARTING THE OWEN MARICIC BANDWAGON!!!!!!
I'm jumping on that bandwagon right now. Guy's a complete football player and is incredibly versatile.

I didn't really mean my comments to come off as a witch-hunt thing. Just a "I really don't care if these guys leave because they aren't really important or irreplacable".

Just said on 105.7 that Le'Ron has said he doesn't think he'll be back and he doesn't think he wants to be back.

Good riddance.

Now a tweet from Le'Ron: "I want to come back and play for the ravens so bad. This is home to me, but I just want to be involved more."

John just said and this might be Coach speak, that he can see a role for McClain where he gets the ball more.

That's b.s. because if he truly anticipates Cam being back, how in the world would Le'Ron get the ball more?

Hmnn, and to imagine some of us got attacked on here for saying the guy lacks class. I'll miss his play, but not really the player. I hope he does well wherever he goes.

Im glad LayRon is leaving. He was always more about the name on the back of the jersey than the name on the front....Like some of you said, we can get a better blocking full back.

As for Fabian, I do wish him the best of luck....as long as he doesn't go to the Steelers.

Actually, Bulldog was specifically referring to comments Jen Royle gathered from Le'Ron as the players are currently cleaning out of their lockers. Those comments in the article might have been made Saturday night but regardless, whether McClain is re-signed or not is all part of the off-season process.
Gotcha. Nonetheless I wouldn't mind seeing Le'Ron as a #2 RB or just a short yardage situation guy. As long as we can get a good blocking FB in front of him. Another benefit would be that if something were to happen to that new FB, we would have Le'Ron, and not have to worry like we did after he had that ankle sprain or whatever it was earlier this season.
But, after hearing that he doesn't want to be back... if he actually said that and it was not skewed and taken out of context then I don't want him back. But if he said "I don't want to be back if I'm only used to block and not even used to block a lot when we do run the ball" then I can't really blame him. Either way though, a better run blocking and more consistent pass blocking and EASY TOUCHDOWN CATCHING FB (Le'ROn dropped I think 3 easy TD catches this year. He has decent hands unless he can score on the play), would help us in those situations whee everyone knows we're gonna run, but we still get around 5 yards a carry.

Edit: I know the money he will want will probably make it not worth it though. I am sure he will ask for an amount of money that will make it a waste for whatever team to not really use him. But I hope he knows whoever does pick him up, his role will probably not change much.

The role of a FB in Cams system is to run block and Laron has shown that his needs are more important than the teams needs. We don't need more players pouting about their role. Let him go. God bless.

I think he's "replaceable" because we have two other very good RBs. If we didn't have McGahee, I think it'd be a different story. He is a hybrid fullback, and one of the best in the league (if not, the best, because how many of them are out there?). It's just that he doesn't fit in the system right now (like some other guys on offense...*cough* Housh *cough*). He'll find success on another team if he leaves.

And with his comments, he could be indirectly calling out Cam which we've all been doing directly. I see nothing wrong with it. The only problems I have with the guy is his attitude at times, but I don't see him as being wrong with his comments.

McClain is all over the place. From his twitter page: "Ravens we'll be back next year....#FACT"
Wow...

The off-season is already very interesting.

What are the chances that he meant to spell "will?"

I think his attitude at the end of the day will be the deciding factor. IMO I don't think the organization likes the guys that complain about their usage in the offense. Actually no organization likes that I'm sure. So yes I think he is expendable, just as we thought about Mughelli in the past.

Some of you guys posted about Owen Marecic out of Stanford, I just saw some YouTube on the guy and I like what I see. Let's hope Jim doesn't take him to San Fran.

Well Pete Carrol didn't take the bait on taking former USC players but Jim... I don't know if he would take any Stanford players but we'll see. Plus it would be a great way for John to get into his brother's head by taking him, and it would be better if we took him and he wanted to take him lol.

I have to agree about Leron. I was not very happy with his attitude when heading into the locker room at halftime. He was acting like we had already won and we all know what happened. Most of the team seemed to think the game was already over.

Considering we had to let another pro bowl FB leave prior to Leron, we'll find an adequate replacement.

Fabian: I could care less about him leaving. We'll be getting Foxworth back next season anyways and if we're smart, we'll re-sign Carr and Wilson.

Le'Ron: I would love it if we could get him to come back, but he'll probably ask for too much money and his attitude lately, in general, has been pretty poor. Not to mention that he wants an increased role which is not gonna happen as long as Cam is still OC. If Le'Ron can fix his attitude and signs for the right price, great. If not, then bring in a blocking FB for cheap.

Thank you for your time as a raven Mcclain, 4 years of hard work and an enjoyable player to watch. I think its time to move on from this guy. I have been as big of a fan of is as there is, but i think its time to change. He commands too many touches, and i think that its taking away from rice and willis. We can find a better blocking FB who would love to block for these guys. Ray Rice enough said. I think Willis is only going to get better at his new accepted role. Hes healthy and is really starting to bulk up in his size. You cant find a back with better vision to the red zone then this guy, and his stiff arm is just amazing. Find a new FB via free agency preferably, somebody with experience and is a blocker.

Well if this is any indication, and I know you shouldn't link player jerseys being on sale when it's possible that he could leave via Free Agency but I was browsing the Ravens online store an McClain's jersey is now 30% off and you can buy a McClain jersey for $56, original price was $80.

McClain made his first Pro Bowl for being a rushing Fullback (surprised they didn't vote in Hillis this year) and he made his second pro bowl off of reputation. He is not a great blocker, he is average fullback and I think he will demand big bucks and it shouldn't happen.
