What Did The Game Cost You?

127 posts in this topic

Cost...

...me to lose some dignity by dancing like a **** the first half of the game.
...nearly broke a door in half on the Webb punt return TD...only to come back and see a yellow flag...and bury my face in the ground
...my voice, my heart, and my pride after giving up that 3rd and 19
...my brother $100 in Vegas.
...years of my life from an emotional rollercoaster

AND the worst of all.
...having to wear a Steelers jersey to school on Tuesday because of a dumb bet (Although I will paste Triplette's name on the back).

Got me:
-pity points from my girlfriend.

pity points are a consolation prize. I HATE CONSOLATION PRIZES.

I fortunately didn't break anything today, but this reminds me of years ago watching a game between the Browns and Steelers, I was taking an intermediate accounting class in college, trying to do some studying during the game (lol). I got so mad at the Steelers that I had to tape my textbook back together to make it through the rest of the semester. I guess the Steelers have a way of bringing out the worst in some of us.

Everyone here knows I'm usually the patient and positive one. I can usually find a shred of optimism. Heck, I was able to do it the past two seasons after both playoff eliminations. This one is different.

I just lost too much of myself from this game. I'm not even really angry about the outcome. I'm just angry at the Steelers fans who've ruined this day for me and basically trampled on what little I had left in me.
I have to go to work today and face a boatload of these obnoxious people. Some I actually like and enjoy their company on most days. I really do not understand why they feel the need to be so obnoxious after a win. I do not act this way when we beat them. I didn't act this way when we swept them in 2006.

Edit: Though it's only one day later, the truly one-sided BS refereeing of this game just might have cost me my love of football. I take losses hard but alright. I don't take gifts from referee crews well.

While we are all burying ourselves in sorrow, how must ed reed feel? One of the hardest losses on top of the loss of his brother.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ed Reed starts talking about retirement, although those comments might be more out of emotion than an actual desire to retire, similar to Derrick Mason last season.

Nothing, its a game after all, no sense in getting worked up over something we have no control over and does not affect what goes on in our daily lives.

we should be upset. Ravens represent baltimore and one of the few positives we have in the national spotlight besides crime and drugs. Ain't nobody trying to move to and visit b-more...they take they butts down the DC. Ravens is a big part of baltimore's connection to the rest of the country.

You sir are not "die-hard".... for most of us here it did cost quite a bit, whether it be emotional or monetary.
I personally lost a tad over $1000 bux on the game, about 1/8th of my sanity, my voice, my happy-go-lucky mood and my ability to rub it in Steelers fans' faces.

What hurts the most is how we donated the AFC Championship game to these guys.

As everyone knows here, that's the attitude I have almost every week during the regular season.

But this is the playoffs. This is the culmination of our emotional investment in the team. While I'm not calling out your fanhood (because that's neither prudent or fair), you have to understand why so many of us are upset. This game was emotionally draining and indicative of the up-and-down year that this team has had. While 12-4 is a record to be proud of, and there were many great victories along the way, this was a trying year and we have never been more tested in our emotions as fans.

I'm just glad this wasn't the AFCCG again. I can feel okay about sending them to NE first.

I hope the Jets don't pull a rabbit out of the hat and have to go to Pittsburgh. Then the writing would be on the wall.

My pride.

Now like I stated before. I must quit my job, leave my wife, abandon my house and move to the remotest part of Alaska where I will grow my 'playoff loss' beard and eat Salmon.
Wow, that is exactly how I felt! It was so accurate that I had to look to make sure I didn't post it myself.

This game cost me my stomach lining (YAY ulcers!) It cost me the enjoyment of watching Matt Ryan and the Falcons fall apart (was looking forward to it since I had to endure a love-fest from Millen and Theisman earlier this year) Couldn't even watch it all, just went to sleep. It also cost me any hope of silently gloating over the Pastor at my church who is a Steeler fan. Luckily he's like a father to me so I can be reasonable about it. It cost me the elation that I would have had seeing Hines Ward cry in the post game presser. Finally, it cost the the chance to see Ed Reed hold up the Lombardi.

It cost me $4 for my share of parking down at Fed Hill and my voice... although it's slowly coming back now.

The Steelers being sent to New England would be like a lamb being led to slaughter. I would relish every moment of Tom Brady butchering that secondary. I don't care about his Justin Bieber haircut or his feud with Suggs. None of that matters. I want revenge, and if I have to see it done secondhand, I'll take it.

Hehe, yeah, I guess I did... It wasn't of that factor though it was more like a rage thing than a show off, lol.

Dont get me wrong, I was just as pissed off as the next person, Im not fair weathered by any means. The first thing I heard when I turned on the radio after work was housh dropping the first down pass at the end of the game, tell me how I felt about that. I was ticked off. Im tired of loosing to these punks. Believe me, I want this team to win the SB as much as any other ravens fan, I grew up watching ravens football for crying out loud, was born in maryland and am from there. But Im not going to let a football game ruin my day playoff game or not. Im a positive thinker most of the time, and just dont let things get to me, thats who I am. But to me, theres no reason to overreact like most people are doing. I consider myself die hard, I may not be as die hard as some other people on here tho. I work with steelers fans also, so you can imagine how Im going to feel going to work tomorrow and having to face them.

Yeah, we need Brady and the Pats to win so they can show the Ravens how a real offense goes after Pittsburgh.

I went to sleep last night thinking I would feel better in the morning. Didn't happen. This is going to be a long offseason.

Same. This loss really stung. Assuming the CBA gets worked out, I'll be excited for football come September but last night's L is on par with the one in '07 to the Colts.

It could be longer if the owners and NFLPA don't hammer out a CBA... I can't imagine not having football, and only having the O's to talk about all summer long. I shudder at the thought.

I think it will. This entire playoff i'll be wondering what could have been, which makes it worse.
