What Did The Game Cost You?

127 posts in this topic

Flag on Webb's TD return cost me my tv remote(broke it over my knee)
Boldin's TD drop cost me a hole in my wall(kicked the ottoman into it)
The 3rd&19 pass to brown cost me a dining room chair(smashed it into a million pieces on the floor)

Overall cost me a little bit of respect from my kids too I think. They were trying to calm me down and giving me examples of why I should be happy, lol.

The game cost me:
- What little shred of patience and optimism I had left.
- Any hope of having a good weekend despite being slammed with mountains of things that need to get done.
- My humility, after I couldn't take any more of the trash talk I had gotten from sore winners.
- My faith and belief in karma.

I thought that, after all the trash talk I had to endure without dishing any of it back, I would be rewarded. I thought that, with Roethlisberger's alleged crimes, he would finally get what we thought he deserved. I guess not.

Wow that was cynical, yet I have nothing positive to make it better. Hopefully sleeping it off will make it better.

To be honest... the game actually won me $50. I know it's nothing major, but I bet on the Steelers because until the 2nd half of last week, I had no seen anything in Flacco or the offense to make me think they are smarter than earlier this year, last year, or basically... any year.

I'm not going to get into the details because most people just won't understand.

And now I already have my down payment for next year's tickets since the Ravens won't be hosting anymore games this season.

But yes, this game did cost me some hope. I thought they had a much better chance to get to the big show. This team was healthy. The defense was playing great. Now... who knows what happens with the veteran players. No way does Ed Reed want to put his body through another season if his offense is not showing any signs of waking the hell up. Who knows, Ray probably feels the same. It's not that they CAN'T, it's just... do they really want to go through it if they already know the result? The Patriots have a TON of high draft picks this year. Imagine how nasty they will be.

Also... do the Ravens franchise Haloti? I mean, with the contracts of Haynesworth really bumping up the value of nose tackles, is he too expensive to franchise tag? A lot of our free agents might not want to come back to the Ravens if Ray and Ed and Mason decide to leave. Housh is probably gone because Flacco doesn't ever look to him, and Boldin is probably going to start being a "nuisance" in the lockerroom and media now that he's stuck here with Flacco.

I know "the show will go on" but still, this game definitely cost a lot of people some hope.

The only "quick cure" is that the Steelers don't win the Super Bowl, and preferably don't even win next week.

I was too sick to physically hurt anything. I think I have the flu. Plus I came into this game with very, very low expectations so I'm not as bad as the last time we played the Steelers at home. But all I know is that Cam Cameron needs to be fired or I'll take him out myself. He just cost Ray, Ed, Mason amongst others at least one more championship. I have no more respect for that damn joke

I'm speaking out of anger of course. I'm not really going to pull a mechanic on Cameron. But he needs to be fired

Everyone here knows I'm usually the patient and positive one. I can usually find a shred of optimism. Heck, I was able to do it the past two seasons after both playoff eliminations. This one is different.

I just lost too much of myself from this game. I'm not even really angry about the outcome. I'm just angry at the Steelers fans who've ruined this day for me and basically trampled on what little I had left in me.

Way too bet on your team's biggest rival. Who does that? Couldn't ever think of showing any support for the steelers

Cost my throat from screaming so much, Yes! Yes! Yes! in the first half and NO! NO! NO! in the second.

It has cost me my believe in Karma as well. I thought let the Steelers fans act like (place your favorite explicative here), it won't matter in the end.

Oh Yeah, it also cost me my sanity (what little left there is), just for a little while.

Roughly 4 hours of my life? Thankfully, I've learnt to control my physical outbursts...well, enough so that I don't break anything.

My pride.

Now like I stated before. I must quit my job, leave my wife, abandon my house and move to the remotest part of Alaska where I will grow my 'playoff loss' beard and eat Salmon.

Ah I hear you man. My whole thinking the entire game was kharma would play a huge factor. I figured that Big Ben would have the great taste of victory in his mouth and Kharma (Ravens) would rip it out of his mouth at the end, but of course not. Life doesn't work like that...it's almost saying screw morales, ethics or anything since it really doesn't matter. Playing dirty, cheap, etc. aren't bad and raping women along with committing other crimes is A-OK.

No good kharma for the team whose star safety's brother went missing, or play cleaner, or get no calls...no that matters none.

I'll tell you what...idc what anyone says, after watching this game tonight I don't think so, but I KNOW the NFL favors certain teams and rigs it in certain aspects. The calls again were horrible, but it was eye opening since we all already knew the officials were absolutely horrible at doing their job, but their blind, incompetent _________.

Anyways, don't feel too horrible. If it will cheer you up, just think about what some of those Steeler's players have coming for them. Think of how in 10 years Big Ben won't even be able to remember his own name, how he will most likely be in jail (if he's even alive from all of his mental/physical conditions), and how kharma actually might not have played a role tonight...but wait in see in their personal lives if it comes around.

Remember, this is just a game. Let them win this, but see how it impacts them in the game of life.

And btw, I'm a huge fan of the Ravens, but who in their right mind breaks things over a loss? That seems like someone needs some serious help LMAO :P. I guess to each their own, but not trying to sound degrading or insulting, just saying, sometimes if you let your emotions get the best of you (not saying crying is bad, but getting into a rage) might want to seek out some help. Personally, all tonight cost me was some time. Thank god I didn't purchase tickets.

I did the same exact thing. I live in Pittsburgh and everybody in my school knows that I'm a Raven fan so they have been giving it to me all week, but I tend to keep my mouth shut, thinking just like you that the luck of the game goes more toward me, but no.

I lost my voice for about the next week. I'm pretty sure my throat is bleeding, still.
My sanity is gone too. I lost my peace of mind, because I've heard screaming for the last 4 hours. I'm pretty sad too, so my happiness is gone.
