ONE THING IVE LEARNED AFTER THIS SEASON: Is that we need some youth and speed at receiver. After all these years of drafting WR and even throwing money at the position it is still a problem on our team. Our receivers lack the speed to get consistent separation from DB's. Lets face it, every DB in the NFL are quick, agile and fast. Our receivers poise no threat deep and are easily covered in man coverage even against a weak secondary like the Steelers. Anquan Boldin is alot of things but he is not a vertical threat. Until we fix this probelm and our OLINE, Joe will never be the QB that we all need and we will continue to struggle on offense. Just think about how many times this season that Joe has good protection but the WR's should not get the job done so Joe ends up taking a sack or makes a bad decision. Ozzie needs to attack this problem and fast. James Jones (packers) and Malcolm Floyd (chargers) would be reasonable free agent pick ups. I also believe that we must draft a WR between 1 - 3 rounds. When you look at other young quarterbacks receiving groups like Rodgers, Sanchez and Ryan; they all have a nice mix of youth, speed, savvy veterans and toughness. Our receiving group is missing the youth and speed aspect.

What about Childress as a possible OC replacement... he worked with Harbs for about 8 years in Philly... Childress may not be a good head coach but he is a brilliant offensive mine... you seen what he did with all those weapons he had when Brett first got there... imagine what he could do for us

Here's what I learned. Mattison is competent at defensive coordinator, he called a good game and had serious pressure on Roethlisberger all night. The one big pass play at the end was a lack of ability by our cornerbacks, not playcalling. And the biggest thing that I learned. GET CAM CAMERON OUT OF HERE. I don't care if he called a good game last week. He completely ignored what worked last week. He refused the throw to any wide receivers. I don't want to here that it was Flacco's fault, even if he was hesitant to throw down field, you have to figure out a way to get Boldin and Mason the ball. A little screen pass with no blocking for Boldin doesn't do it for me, and it didn't do it for Boldin. We have a loaded offense and an incometent or inept guy calling the plays.

It was a tough loss we all know that but in the end it all comes down to the players. I thought the defense did pretty good, got beat on a couple plays but thats not what cost us the game. You cant blame it on Boldin's drop or Housh's drop. True they didn't help but it was turnovers that made the difference. THREE in the third quarter and all on our side of the field. Nobody will beat any decent team if they do that. Even if they were held to punts there wouldn't have been the huge momentum shift that happened. A lot of people want to blame refs. Grow up, thats what 6 year olds use for excuses. For those that want to say Flacco sucks think about this. Who was the last QB for the Ravens that was even on the team 3 straight years not to mention took us to the playoffs all 3 years. But my biggest complaint is still with the offense. How do you have Mason, Boldin, Housh, Stallworth, Heap, and Rice on the roster and nobody can get open?! Is it poor play design or do the recievers just need to step it up? When the season started with all these guys on the roster I thought we could really do some damage. Last week Heap was able to beat his man consistently and had a great game. If everybody would quit crying for the ball and get open good things will happen. I would really like to see this improve next year. There are a lot of possible Hall of Famers on this team I want to see them play like it.

The main thing i look forward to this offseason is when the news is that Cam is gone and the new OC says that now Joe has to earn a spot on the roster.
When a player knows his job is on the line if he is able to step up he will if hes not able to he wont eather way we'll know just how good Joe is or can be

why cant we ever close games out anymore,it seems we always like to blow 4th quarter leads when when hgave been doing great the first half of the games but as soon as the second half comes around there goes another blown lead..we have a big lead at halftime then it all melts down in the second half for another dissapointing loss ,there are some adjustments that need to be addressed in the offseason

Your guys played well and had us down, but mistakes on your part and good playing on our part made the difference. I really appreciate and respect Ray Lewis' comments after the game, talk about class and maturity - he's a great leader for your team and I look forward to seeing him on the field again next year.

I know your disappointed in your loss to us, but hopefully you can be glad that the Patriots lost!

Go Steelers!

We need an OC who can outsmart LeBeau or else we'll never beat the Steelers and we'll never win a Super Bowl. Cam Cameron is not the guy, we gave him lots to work with this season and he still couldn't get it done. I believe in Harbaugh, but I don't know what he is thinking bringing this guy back especially with Josh McDaniels on the market...

Can't agree enough about coaching. Cam may be coming back, and it may cost Harbaugh his job at some point. Play calling cost us home field advantage in the playoffs (i.e., trying to throw on 2nd and 5 with 2:55 on the clock), and now has cost us a run at the Super Bowl. There is talent out there for the OC position. Hopefully, Ozzie or Steve can veto Harbaugh's vote. One thing to point out, the 58yard play wasn't a cornerback issue, although I know there was a blown coverage. The play called made no sense. You control Ben with pressure, not dropping back allowing him to do what he wants...
