[News] Game Recap - Divisional - Ravens at Steelers

250 posts in this topic

this game was typical of how the Ravens played all season!

self-destructive
poor offensive playcalling (Cam Cameron....needs to be released!)
lack of execution (QB fumble off of the snap)
poor QB play in pressure games
WRs are too slow to get seperation from DBs
WRs dropped passes in crucial moments
penalties, penalties, penalties
defense giving up HUGE yards in the air

it seems like the Ravens just can't handle playing with a sizeable lead and then putting teams away!

This one hurts but somehow the better teams find a way to win. They gave away the ball, we gave away the ball, questionable calls or lack thereof for both sides. Hopefully they can get back next year with Cam "The Proven Loser" Cameron calling the plays for some high school team in Florida.

i mean boldin did drop that ball, but you gotta give it 3 shots in the air. your not running it in from the 9 up the middle against the pittsburgh steelers. you gotta throw three times. we woulda have a touchdown if we did that. i will be astonished if cam is back next season. we need a change because he obviously did not work out.

Game ball to SIZZLE that man played his heart out. Trent Dilfer agreed that Webb's punt return was an aweful call. We could have won despite the meltdown, but given up huge 3rd down plays have plagued this team all season. I am not sure what or who the problem is, bottom line we gave this game away and when i wear my Heap jersey tomorrow i am sure people will say the same. I'll see ya'll in the draft.

Once again Cam Cameron's horrible offense and play calling cost this team. Here is a prime example; ( we ran the end around last week against KC and Stallworth fumbled, and we never gave him the ball again) Pittsburgh ran it against us and had a lose of 8 yards, but they ran it again in the third quarter and got a huge gain, cuz they saw Suggs crashing to stop runs. That is the difference. We thought Mark Clayton was a bust, but he goes to the Rams and turns into a Beast! We did not use him correctly. Look at Woodhead for the Pats. If he came to the Ravens he would have never seen the field. But a progressive offensive Co-ordinator in New England has made him a important part of the off. ( Stallworth is just a Spectator ) Cam needs to GO !!!!

Why is it the officials are supposed to be the cream of the crop Jeff Triplett's crew should NEVER officiate a Revens Steelers game again. He and his crew have ZERO concept of what is and what is not a penalty. That tub of Lard Kemoaoto had at least two illegal hits one was called. How do you NOT throw a flag on that smiling Idiot Ward after he Roethlisbergered Ed Reed!

Speaking about coaching A 3 Man Rush on a Qb who you had sacked 6 times Cmon,Also WHy was Jalen Parmalee back deep in the second half on kick offs Lardarius did well in the first half and Parmalee got us back to the 20 only 1 time in the second half. I have to agree Mattison and Cameron You're time is DONE here move on and I wish you good luck.

I am still proud of my Ravens, been a fan for 10 years. Ray, Ed, Todd and all the other players especially defensive players make me so very proud, it's hard to win when the officials make Steelers biased calls (and this is everytime we play Pittsburgh). I am in Korea and have been since 2008 and I proudly wear my Ravens jersies every chance I get. Ray, your fans love you and you give every game all you have and then some, Ed too. Though you didn't win today, stand tall for all you accomplished this season. My head is high here in Seoul, Korea!! Ravens fan 4 life!!

I think flacco should have just cauld audibles the whole game they would have been much better than cams horrible plays... i think the ravens need a new offensive coordinator and a NEW CORNERBACK one that can stop the deep threats yes we have foxworth, wilson, and webb but they cant take out the good receivers

Ok it is official I am packing up all my Ravens gear and will not get it back out as long as Greg Mattison still has a job. what the heck, the pressure was working so on a 3rd and 19 we give Big Ben all day to through the frickin' ball. I was watching the game and when we were putting on the pressure Ben couldn't complete a pass, so at the biggest point of the game we let up. So you tell me what the heck was he thinking. It hasn't worked yet this season, we cannot cover receivers long enough for 3 guys to pressure the QB. Pittsburgh knew that they never let up and it worked, Flaco didn't have time to find someone open. Its time for an over haul, getting to the playoffs isn't enough....

Cam Cameron sucks, we all know that by now. However, blame must be put on Flacco's shoulders. He got careless with the ball, and couldn't make plays in the 2nd half. Elite QB's take control of the game and he never did/does that. Im honestly disgusted with the outcome of this game considering what should have been. Harbaugh has to stop being so nonchalant about all of this, you just lost to your biggest rival... again, where's the fire?

But overall, this team underachieved all year and it finally caught up with them. And at the end of the day, it was the same Baltimore Raven's recipe thats haunted us forever: Defense clearly plays well enough to win the game, but the offense sputters and puts them in horrible spots time and time again. The outcome of this game was anything but surprising for me, it just results in another extremely disappointing end to a season for a team that should be competing in a Super Bowl.

this loss really hurt , we had that game won and they let all our superbowl hopes slip away in the second half i tell you what i dont believe that we should be keeping cam cameron i think they should let him go and start searching for a new one,we had the lead at half time 21-7 how can our defense let all that slip away in the second half,oh well im proud of you ravens for coming this far now come back next year with a vengeance

i dont know what needs to happen, but honest to god, this was a disaster. NO one to blame but ourselves. yeah there were crappy calls by the refs and some non-calls. BUt fumbling 3 (THREE) times in our territory, and then a hold on a PR TD, a TD drop by boldin, and a 1st down drop by housh.
Man, these guys have been cryin for the ball, and when they get their chance...nothing. Then you have these punk @$$ rookies on the other makin 58 yd catches to eff up our SB hopes.
This has absolutely killed me, 3 years in a row. I dont know if I can let this one down.

@The Negotiator

Correct. Flacco hasn't emerged as a QB that can win the big game and it seems that in big spots we ALWAYS find some way to lose, especially to the Steelers.

For as much as this rivalry has been built up recently, any realistic Ravens fan knows that its a one sided rivalry. The Ravens cant beat Ben and neither can Flacco.

3rd quarter and the whole 2nd half sucked, no argument there however the amount of penalties that should of being called and were blatantly overlooked were ridiculous. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a bunch of NASTY players, people. I understand how it goes in football but come on. The play that HURT me the most was the WEBB return and the HOLDING call. I am not sure if you guys saw the same game that I saw but no matter what we did, we were NOT leaving Pittsburg with a win. I am thinking the officials were black and yellow fans.

Both co-ordinators need to go, but if it has to be only one, then it needs to be Cam Cama-Moron !!! The goal of play calling is to set up a play later in the game with the plays you call early in the game. We have to many threats on the offensive side of the ball to be looking like we do. Ask yourself this. What would the Patriots do with Boldin, Mason,Heap, Housman,Stallworth, Reed ( the rookie ),Rice, Pitta, and Dickson ?? We cant get first downs with these guys. I am just afraid that the success we have had is going, hinder the coaches and the owners desicion to make a change. Lord knows we need it.

ace raven - exactly!

I'll give you another - Prince Miller. Guy muffs one punt, and we send him to the PS when he could've been our blowout punt returner.

Other teams do a whole lot more with a whole lot less talent. You could argue the Pats are one of them... look how young their overall team is. The difference? Coaches and coordinators.

Cam's mishandling of talent needs to be rewarded with a one-way ticket to relative obscurity.
Larry Rosen sickens me by calling him "The Alchemist". Alchemist my a, he would eff up a pitcher of Kool-Aid.
