That was one heck of a game. I thought the game was wrapped up in the second quarter with how well the Ravens were playing and how terribly the Steelers were playing. But in the second half the Steelers made some plays especially on defense. Still the game wasn't closed out until the last minute. T.J. was in the exact spot to make a first down and go out of bounds and Flacco put the ball on the money but it bounced off T.J.'s chest. He just didn't make the play.

The Ravens have great fans because Baltimore has a history of great football and great football fans. It was awesome seeing how excited everyone was around town before the game. It's a tough loss for the Ravens but an epic game none the less. Both teams left it all on the field.

GO STEELERS!

I give you a lot of credit. I don't think I could have a steelers fan anywhere near my right now. Or anyone in a black and white stripped shirt, for that matter.

It got a little ugly during the game as he suffers from SteelerVision. You know, when you can't even acknowledge the cheap and dirty shots your players are taking and the refs are letting go.

Right now he is being very, very quiet. Which is for the best.

Usually it is a pretty lighthearted thing. The losses to the Steelers always sting some but, I can get past a loss. This one is just different and I think he knows it.

I'm glad he recognizes this one's different. SteelerVision is one of the hardest things to take. That is the most frustrating thing when trying to have a rational football talk that puts me over the edge.

It's really amazing. The quick change of feelings. At halftime we were sitting around here at my house, smiling laughing, talking smack, talking about the next phase.

Then poop. What the hell happened? We were firing on all cylinders. Then nothing worked. Its like someone took a hammer and started banging on **** in the lockeroom.

When they called back the return for the touchdown is when I became deflated. I just thought the Refs won't let us win. They aren't going to let us win.....

I think you hit it here for me. Yes, there were a lot of things that happened in that 2nd half that one could point to as the reason for the loss. I just think that from the start, my gut went south as non-call after non-call against the Steelers came. The PI on Webb which I will still argue was bogus.

I just feel like when it really counts there is not an referee crew out there that can be trusted to call an honest game. I know our players had to feel like they were playing not just the Steelers but the refs too and how much did that feeling deflate them? We'll never know because they are not allowed to criticize the refs (guess the NFL isn't into that whole 1st Amendment thing).

I don't know. I know it's just a game and all but it all feels pretty hopeless right now.

This one really wrecked my night.. I can't believe we lost it. Not even to START with Cam's play calling: 1st, pass. 2nd, run. 3rd, pass. Doesn't he think they'll eventually counter it? God. We didn't lose to Steelers, we lost to OURSELVES. I'm sick and tired of us not executing good enough, and all our games being so friggin close. I hope the Steelers run out of luck, but for now, good game.
Gotta give Terrell Suggs props for this game though, he had the heart of a fighter.

It seemed like Ray Lewis knew it too. I couldn't understand why he was just sitting there looking sad on the sidelines instead of trying to pump everyone up.

No, it didn't. Numerous teams have lost great players before and continued to be successful.
I love the optimism after that game but I'm finding it hard to see us winning a Super Bowl in the near future if we couldn't do it with this team. I think we'll still be a playoff team and a contender but it's hard to see us getting over the hump next year at least. Ozzie needs to work some magic. Here's hoping.

Sitting there in the Ketchup Bottle...chatting with my friends during halftime and I said,

"The lead is too good to be true."

Hate to say that I called the collapse but I just had a bad feeling the Steelers would come out angry. Sorry they had to prove me right.

Cheap shot by Ward to Reed's back AFTER the play was dead. Non-call
Helmet first dive into Raven's players on the pile AFTER the play was dead by Keanu (whatever his name is) Non- call
Tackle of Webb after signaling for the fair catch Non- call
Helmet to helmet smack by Taylor on Housh AFTER the play was dead Non- call
Holding by Clark on Mason (twice) Non- call

Doesn't seem like luck to me.

This one hurts but not as bad as the AFC Championship game two years ago. It's one round earlier in the playoffs, the winner of this one will still (probably) have to go through New England to get to the Super Bowl. In the AFC Championship game we only had the Steelers in our way.

Also sad to say I'm getting used to these season ending losses. I'm starting to wonder if the Ravens will ever get to the Super Bowl again with this core of players.

gotta be the most painful loss Ive ever seen. If nothing else just because we had a large lead and coughed it up only to prove to the world the choke-artists that we are.

We had that game but couldn't put it away. This stings more than the AFC Champ loss, or any other game i've watched. We had so many chances, but couldn't convert. I really thought this was our year, one of our last chances for a while with our team getting up there in age. It was a good season, but this one is gonna hurt for a long long time.

Yes this one hurts bigtime.Especially with the uncertainty that surrounds next year

Watching the Green Bay/Atlanta game causes me to ask, why can't we have a qb like Aaron Rogers? Why can't we have coaches who want to win, know how to win, and make the necessary adjustments during a game to win? Why do we always, with the exception of our SB year, have the also-rans, the over-the-hills, and always get people who are intimidated by Pittsburgh?

Aaron Rodgers was still holding a clip board at this point in Flacco's career. Give Joe some time. Aaron was learning behind the best. Learn the gunslinger attitude. We had Troy Smith and no time for Flacco to watch and learn.

Their coach is also from a very prominent NFL coaching tree.

id have to agree that the window is closing, if the older vets that r contemplating retirement come back and again nuthin next year, u may c this team miss the playoffs, but on the other hand oz is the best gm in the league so even if we do they wont b gone for long

We definitely need to upgrade this team in order to get past the steelers. They are always one or two plays better than us and that is the direct result of not completing plays when it really counts. I love the Ravens, but the fact is the Steelers are better when they have Big Ben. Hurts me to say it but they are the better team. We are the ones that dropped passes - not Hines Ward or Antonio Brown. And if it wasn't for the freak play we picked up to score when everyone thought the play was over then it wouldn't have been that close.

Lol, me too. I commented "Don't give up steeler fans, Ravens do have a knack of giving up leads." Only I was so confident that we'd come out on top.

This is only the first season I got to follow the ravens from off-season to post-season, so I guess I can say this one REALLY stings.

You always have your buttholes and drunk uncles in the crowd but for the most part steelers fans respect how hard we play them and kept telling me if they lose the Ravens must go all the way and win or they would feel disrespected. Alot of them feel our teams are the #1 and #2 in the AFC.

All in all a few pissed me off but there was a mutual respect for each other and for the game of football. Hopefully next year I can come back and have a different outcome next time.
Look, I am a newbie and have been reading on here today. I hate the Ravens, but only because they are such a damn good team and you just know that its going to be such a heated, hard hitting rivalry. Had the Ravens won, I would have pulled FOR them against the Cheatriots (A team I hate but for a whole other reason)or the Jets. If you truly ask most Steeler fans, (Not the ignoramus, blowhard types that tend to monopolize message boards), you will find that most of us feel that same way.

As for treating fans of visiting teams badly, it happens everywhere, but normally its just a few *****'s. Anyway, hopefully we will see you guys next year 3 times again. But I don't hate Raven's fans (my relatives and many of my college friends were from that area and are diehard Raven fans), and I really hate when fans of a team impugn a whole fanbase as being classless, unintelligent, etc, just because of an allegiance in a football team.

As for the fan who went to the game, I hope you enjoyed your experience (minus the ending of course) and I hope most Steeler fans treated you with respect and some good natured ribbing.

Yeah its getting old and im starting to think we are cursed, we had that game. all the Offense had to do was not lose the game. Man that sounds familiar which is b.s because we had all this Talent on Offense. Im pissed, i had my razor ready toward the end of the 4th quarter for my play off beard. I just knew we werent going to be able to get it done. I lost my voice for a little while.

Already put ALL my RAVENS stuff away, i dont even want to look at it. It hurts more because it was the STEALERS, i would have rather lost to K.C than them.

Yep, this one did hurt, it seemed so unreal how the second half could be so different from the first half.

Most Steeler fans likely won't want to admit this, but it was MORE that we gave the game away then that they won.

Whether a fan, coach, or a player, having that competitive drive that is satisfied with nothing less than a super bowl victory is of course needed to help motivate you to reach that goal, but when that goal is not reached we need to step back and appreciate all the positives of the season.

I think the players understand our disappointment, but we have to remember we are all human and we all make mistakes.

Out of 32 teams only one can be a super bowl winner each year, so the fans of 31 teams will feel disappointment each year.

Let's be glad we have a lot more to feel positive about this past season than a majority of the other teams who didn't make it this far.

As much as this game hurt, it would have hurt more if we were one of the 16 teams that had an under 500 record for the season.

Yes it hurt, but look at the glass half full :-)

Sigh...it's almost like playing the lottery, just so hard to win a SB. Lots of respect for the Steelers doing it twice in the past 5 years, and poised to do it again.

Steeler fan here and I must say..... that may have been the most stressful Steeler game I have ever watched and I have been watching them all since the late 60's.

First off, thanks to the Ravens for being the other half of the best rivalry in the NFL, the two most physical teams in the NFL, the two teams who still play football!

Tough one for you guys to lose just as it would have been a tough one for us to lose.

Why the NFL assigned Triplettes crew to this game is a mystery, it's like throwing gasoline on a fire!

The game was officiated horribly both ways! I watch with guys who simply don't believe in complaining about the refs and there were numerous plays where we wanted to choke Triplette and his crew!

The Ravens and Steelers both have age at some key positions and let's hope they both shore up those positions so these two teams can continue being the most feared teams to play!

It stings pretty bad here also being one of the few ravens fans up here in upstate ny. The steelers fans here are pretty horrible and fairly trailerpark so im sure i will be hearing about how much better the steelers are than the ravens for another season. Its ok i have broad shoulders and the solice of knowing that the patriots are going to totally destroy the steelers next weekend!
