Seeing as how the way to beat the Steelers is to pass the ball... I was thinking McGahee should be starting and getting the most snaps anyway. He's a MUCH better blocker than Rice. And when we do run... he's really not a dropoff at all.

The first priority in this game is to pick up the blitz though, and McGahee is definitely better than Rice in that area.

We can run, especially when we have the lead in the 4th quarter... but I look forward to seeing the Ravens keep 3 receivers out there all game long, and just stretch that defense out all game. Wouldn't mind some 4 receiver sets with Stallworth in there either! Mark Clayton and Demetrius Williams proved you can beat Polamolu in man-to-man deep. Let's see it! Force Troy to have to drop back. Don't let him dance around the line of scrimmage.

I agree, but Rice isn't bad at picking up blitzes. I personally think the biggest drop off is that whenever Flacco has to check down, McGahee isn't as big a threat as Rice. He is a threat of course, as we saw against the Dolphins, just not quite as lethal as Rice.

I hope he plays to an extent, but doesn't try to overdo it early on and make himself too bad to play all game.

If it's just Ray Rice I'm not to wooried. Willis McGahee I think could shine in this one. I'm just hoping others aren't waking up this morning feeling the same affects.

That's cool. I was worried about the KC players tackling Ray Rice while sneezing in his face.

But if he just started feeling the affects of this on Friday it couldn't be from KC. Must've been the bad burrito he ate.

Good post, as often as Flacco uses his check down, Rice will be a big lose in the backfield. The Steelers have had problems tackling Rice in the past. The stats may not show it but 1 on 1 out of the backfield, Rice provides many more problems. McGahee just isn't as dynamic. (Not saying he's bad, just saying comparatively to Rice)

I hope he's fine for the game, I hate when a star player is missing, definitely no fun.

Great....so when the offense is anemic and unable to move the ball Cam has a nice scapegoat. :lol3:

It must have been those nasty Pimanti Brothers sandwiches.

The puking-squirts are usually the worst of these types of illnesses. This sounds like just a little stomach bug. Even so, he's an NFL player...I have the utmost confidence that he will play and be fine.

If we see Ray Rice running off the field into the tunnel in a hurry. We'll all be like 'ahhhhh'.

Good thing they gave us advance notice of Ray's illness.

I think it's the other way around. Popping several Immodium tablets will keep him in check for several days. He might even miss diarrhea...lol

I don't know if they would have him on the injury list already, I don't think they would, but he's not on there, so let's hope he can play.
that was a ridiculous hit...he does want revenge and I'm sure he will get it! If he doesn't, another Raven will for him!

i swear to god y'all, i was thinking about this like two days ago, i was thinking what if somebody slip some to the ravens food or something that would make them sick or sleepy for game day, and i was like nah, that wouldn't happen, but the reality is it could happen, there's some people out their that would take things seriously, especially in this huge rivalry.

Vomiting is one thing, and GI related illnesses are often euphemeral.

Let's hope he is not running fever, and other complications as well.

If stomach pain, it should pass with the 34' rest, and rehydration.

Also, Raven, think out of sight out of mind. The psychlogical factor is involved.

Whatever the source, Ravens on major Play-off scenarios should have their own meals, and nutritionist counselors on hand.

Since intentional food-poisoning is speculation; we can only learn from the experience and consider any and all possibilities.

Taking added safety precautions will be necessary hence forth; against incidental or diliberate cases.

Maybe we should go smashmouth with Willis, we need to bang on Polamalu while he's in his "probable" state.

I doubt that's what happened. Something's been going around the team and he probably just got that. I'm not saying that people take things seriously...but if someone did that, they'd just be shallow and desperate for a win. And, they would've gone for Lewis, Reed or Flacco, not Rice.

So wait, that one hit negates all the TDs he's scored against the Steelers in his career?
