Your Offseason?

60 posts in this topic

The Ravens' players are hard at work getting into shape, adjusting to new schemes, building relationships with new coaches and each other, and learning new plays. But we all know that.

What (have/are) you (guys/girls) (done/doing) this NFL offseason? It's the worst part of fanhood..

Me, personally, I have school. I'm going to be a senior in HS next year, so yeah, that occupies the majority of my time. Along with work, a girlfriend, and XBOX 360 I keep myself busy.

i dont really play video games that much anymore like i used to, but that is simply because im working non stop and have no time to do so, and the fact that im maturing more and finding more productive ways to spend my time wisely.....

im also thinking about some sort of technical school for something in the broadcasting type field, whether it be radio or TV, i would really really like to get involved in with doing the Football type stuff on that level. something i've always been eager for/to do...besides the fact that my whole family thinks of me as a Football wizard lol which i dont think so because my main stay is pretty much about the Ravens but you know...

That's not all I do, dudes, stop bashing my XBOX. I just started reading a novel (Carrie by Stephen King), I'm going to the beach a ton this summer, as well as getting in shape for Cross-Country in the fall. Just to name a few..

Good call on King. He's my favorite author.

I'm working part-time, and fixing up my house when I'm not doing that. I've also read 3 books, and I'm about halfway through another. Plus I'm writing some stuff.

All that has kept me pretty busy--it took me 3 weeks to hook up my PS3.

At the beginning of the offseason, I had classes and work to focus on. But now that it's summer, I just have work pretty much every day, but I've found time to get out a little more and rebuild my social life (lol).

But I've been finding time to play a lot of PS3 lately, too, both at work and when I'm at my apartment.

And, of course, I always have NFL news to keep track of (whenever there's REAL news, anyway...lol)

in Baltimore can you guys go to the beach and swim or is the water too cold?

I wouldn't go swimming IN Baltimore if I was you, but there are loads of beaches around: Ocean City, Virginia Beach, some smaller ones along the East Coast. Of course everyone of them is about 2-4 hours away, but it's a good time.

Yeah, I'm prepping for my football season this year. Hopefully I'll get more playing time, I got screwed by injuries last year and was playing half butt. In my free time I still play video games. A lot. Nothing better to do here in suburbia.

Carrie is a good book, but if you want classic King, check out It or The Stand. The new one called Duma Key isn't too shabby, either. The Dark Tower series is also a must read.

I work all summer. That's the downside of having a family to support. No big vacation plans, but we have been making little day trips here and there. I like to save most of my vacation time for the holidays unless something big comes up. Taking care of some stuff around the house that has needed doing for awhile, too.

eh not really, i mean if i do then thats just how it goes you know? but i've been on TV before like 2-3 times before its really nothing special or spectacular by any means, most recent being that of a few years ago when i was a guest of honor along with another individual in which i was supposed to walk the Doctor/Surgeon that litterally saved my life when i was younger more than once, Dr Ben Carson, out to this huge room where a TON of people were sitting around tables and watching us very intently ......and in the back ground they had Celion Deion "You are my Hero" playing....while a TV camera was shoved on our faces lol.

the biggest was back on April 13th, 2001, when i was flown down to Forth worth Texas. There was a Clouded Leopard Named "Joe" at the Forth Worth Zoo where we were at, whom had the same Medical isssues as i do, i had 6 mics all over me and a TV Camera following me around, i got to hold an alligator, a penguin, and pet the leopard, they also gave all of us a Free Zoo Pass, Media Cameras literally EVERYWHERE...... bit of a shock for a 12 year old boy to see all at once (which i was at the time). had to to a few interviews and what not

oh and they also had the Zoo People personally escort me around to different areas at the zoo and i even had the chance to have a Hawk named "sundance" fly to and from my arm and back again and land on it ( i was wearing one of those Talon Glove things to protect my skin from harm due to their Talons.

i still have the pictues, and the video from that day. i even made a picture Book of everything that day, from the very first Emails to the very last day there. its neat to look back on and see.
