Romo Ravens

ESPN Poll

30 posts in this topic

I just did a poll on ESPN which asked the question, "Which of these quarterbacks would you least want to have on your side in a playoff game?"

The choices were Jay Cutler, Joe Flacco, Matt Hasselback, Matt Ryan and Mark Sanchez.

Coming in first was Mark Sanchez with 38%, second was Jay Cutler with 34%, third was Matt Hasselback with 17%, fourth was Matt Ryan with 6% with Joe Flacco at 5%. I thought it was very cool seeing Joe edge out Ryan, even if it was just by one percent.

I don't know about you guys, but that seems like a great deal of respect, just knowing that only 5% voted against him, probably Steeler fans :P

Pretty Funny, In NY only 3% said Joe wouldn't be their last pick, better then he fared in Maryland. Most least favored Sanchez.
Also Cool, except for Mass, New Hampshire Conn, Vermont and Washington St. The rest of the United States % wise chose Saturday as the more anticipated games to watch.

I thought for sure people would want to see the all mighty Pat's and the loud Rex. Even Illinois has 64% to 36% favor for Saturday. You would think they want to watch Da Bears.

Another poll has Shayne Graham as most trustworthy kicker over Cundiff by a 10% margin. That kind of goes to show you the intelligence of people voting in these polls. Do they even know he wasnt on a team until Gostkowski went down?

I hate that abbreviation more than anything else >=\

I was pretty amused that Maryland had the most votes for Joe, also. I half expected most of them to come out of Pennsylvania lol

Isn't Shayne Graham who we picked Cundiff over? Are Shayne's stats better? (of all positions, I think stat's mean the mostis kicker stats.)

Yes, Graham was the one in competition with Billy over the off season. As for his stats, he was one of the, what, top 5 kickers in accuracy of all time. Sadly, his missed field goals last year cost him the job in Cincinnati.

I think you mean we picked Billy over Shayne, but I do not believe his stats are better this season. He is 12/12 but he hasnt really been tested. He also shanked a couple in last year's postseason for Cincinatti.

That's cool, seems like Joe is starting to get some more respect. I'm voting on all the poll questions because you can't skip to a certain poll, and what I find odd in the question that asks in which rivalry do you think there is more genuine dislike between the teams, Ravens/Steelers is just edging Pats/Jets, 52% to 48%. In the question that asks which day of football, Saturday is blowing away the Sunday games, oddly enough everyone picked Saturday but the little red is in Washington, thanks to the Seahawks.

The Final question... which AFC kicker do you trust to make a game winning Field Goal? Shayne Graham of the Patriots leads the way with 37%, Billy Cundiff and Nick Folk are tied behind him with 26%! We need to vote for Billy more!

top 5 of all time that's great, but how did he do this year compared with Cundiff. It just seems Cundiff was sooo good this year. (homerizum? raise my hand)

edit, your right gabfergy, that is what I meant. I think we cross posted. Thanks!

He has actually been perfect this season for New England, however he has only one 40+ fg, and he only has 12 attempts. Billy is 26/29 and he definitely has the stronger leg of the two.

I really don't think you can accurately compare the two this year. Cundiff's played an entire season, Graham... not so much.

Cundiff: 16 GP, 26/29, 89.7%, Longest FG of 49 Yards.
Graham: 8 GP, 12/12, 100%, Longest FG of 41 Yards.

Graham may have been 1st in the league with percentage, but he was 34th in field goal attempts. While, Cundiff was 9th in percentage and 12th in attempts.

Ah But since the poll has most of the US looking forward to the Saturday match ups to the Sunday, seems to say not everyone (less then I expected) is on his bandwagon.

We are a very critical fan base. We have higher expectations I think. Living with a Steeler fan I can tell you, if they have a bad game but come away with the W he will say they did enough to win and that's what counts. Where I have walked away from a Ravens' W smh about this or that. We seem to expect excellence all the time. Especially from Joe. It seems our fanbase wants him to perform at a level equal with names like Brady and Manning, forgetting this is only his 3rd year.

Now, I am off to vote and congrats Joe! With those number of votes I think that is pretty impressive.

You couldn't. Everywhere you look, Cowboys are mentioned. The nickname "America's Team" needs to be dropped now. Easily the most overhyped team in the league IMO.
