Saturday's Predictions

Some bad news to relay but wish it was not true but the Steelers are 8-0 against division opponents in the playoffs.
Yes and the Patriots had a win streak that lasted how long in Gillette before the playoffs last year?

Those kind of stats don't frighten me. They are pretty irrelevant when you get down to it. Different teams etc etc etc.

This game will be close, I know it wouldn't surprise me or anyone else on here that this game test the new OT rules. I see stats like Steelers are 8-0 in playoffs against Division rivals, and stats like we have never beat the Steelers with Ben... there is always a first and no better time than Saturday to put those stats away. Billy "Clutch" Cundiff will make the game winning FG to send the Ravens to New England, though I'm hoping that the Jets win so that Cundiff can just send us back to Baltimore for the AFC Title game.

My Prediction:
Ravens 13
Steelers 10

Gladly.

Anyway, I I've no idea what the score will be, but I'm guessing the winner wins by 3 or 4 per the usual. That, and as Mr. T says, "Pain."

No disrespect to the Steelers but if Cam opens things up I believe we can beat Pitts by atleast 2-3 touchdowns. They have to get some of that Bellicheck, Brady type of mentality in them where they don't fear teams like the Steelers and Jets D. You can still respect their D but you don't have to fear them. The Coaches have to be the main ones to break free of that mentality b/c I'm sure the players feel they can beat the Steelers by a decent margin.

Flacco shows poise, keeps his eye on Hairball 43, no picks for Joe. The Ravens O-line shows that they can max-protect, giving Joe just enough time to hit LilRay, Heap, and Mason on some short-medium passes. If Harrison and co. seem to be pre-occupied with the blitz, a long ball to TJ or Q may get whizzed downfield. Flacco will be hurried and hit a good bit, but I feel like he has better vision than he did 5 weeks ago.

RayRay52 and co. will not be bringing the blitz (if they have learned anything), because Big Bone is at his best when being chased. You can bet that Sizzle wants a piece of #7 really bad, hopefully he knows to go after the arm when he does penetrate, and he chooses carefully on which play to go. Coverage and confusion will be the key to keeping the big play from happening. Our secondary needs to double Wallace and Ward ALL DAY LONG. Ed Reed has been waiting for this day; I smell a pick 6.

I see a 10-10 tie at HT.

I predict a bench clearing fight sometime in the 4th Q.

Ravens 27
Offense - 6pts on the ground, 6pts in the air
Special teams - 2 FG + 3 extra points
Defense - 6pts

Steelers 17
Offense - 12pts in the air
special teams 1FG + 2 extra points, 1 missed FG

Yes, I have it with a 10 point margin of victory, higher than history shows. History will be made.

I had fun doing this, my own little brain just won us Blood Bath III!

Any given Sunday, or Saturday in this case...

This is tough really. I can see us going either way to open this game. Either it's the usual slugfest with Cam feeling out the Steelers D to see the weak spots in the first half or him just attacking from the start. I think he knows that his job is possibly on the line in this game. My gut tells me that we will attack aggressively early. Screens and slants, short stuff over the middle. Then a deep throw into man to man coverage.

With Heap and McClain healthy for this game, I don't see Troy coming through the line untouched. In fact I think he becomes a non-factor much like in the first game. We missed their blocking talents in that second game and it was obvious even before the strip/sack/fumble.

Scores are tough for me. I'll say I expect the score to be tied or within 3 pts at halftime but that we will pull away in the 3rd. That 4th quarter could be rocky, this is the Steelers after all, but I think we hold on to win by 7 pts.

In my opinion, we can win this game if we just start tackling strong. Tackling hasn't been a huge problem this season, but in certain games there were certain situations where the tackling was just atrocious. One of those key missed-tackles was the game-winning touchdown by Pittsburgh in December. If our tackling had been where it should have been on that drive, it would have been a goal-line stand. They had him wrapped up, but didn't bring him down. He went on to score the TD rather than having us keep them to a field goal. Even despite the Flacco fumble, we still should have won the game if the tackle that should have happened had happened.

Ravens : 13
Steelers : 10

Tied with 2 min to go i think we drive into 53 yrd field goal range Cundiff sends us to AFC championship game as we hold the Steelers with only 15 seconds on the clock left after the FG.

I'd take a blowout win momentum rather than a bye week
I think with an older team like ours, I would rather take the bye.

Steeler fan here, one thing I'd like to say that this game is the archetype of how football games should be played. Good luck you guys! This game is going to be good!

23-17 Steelers

I just don't have a good vibe about this game

I could never bring myself to pick against my own team.

I figure this game is going to come down to 3 points again, and I really really really hope we're the ones on top. However, it's going to be a hard fought game, period, no matter who wins.

ravens will win it by 3 points or less, it comes down to pass protection and cundiff. ravens win 12-9, or 6-3

Fair enough. I feel with the way the regular season match-ups between the teams played out this season, especially the second one, you can be a realist and still predict a Ravens win but to each his own.

I believe we are all caught up in the 3-5 point margin. I believe this is standpoint where one of these teams will win with more than a 5 point margin.

Ravens 24

Boldin TD
MagaheeTD
Heap TD
Cundiff FG

Steelers 17

Ward 7
Redman 7
FG

I dunno, our combined scores from the previous two match ups are:

Steelers: 30

Ravens: 24

I still think it'll be closer to a 16-13 result.

84 - 2 Ravens.PIT's safety comes when Ray Rice gets so dizzy from running up and down the field all day that he runs into the wrong end zone.

I don't think you guys have tallied that many points in the last 6 games Homie.

If Cam isn't stupid, and actually follow the Saints/Patriots blueprint than I'm 80% sure we are going to win

that's a BIG if though

My prediction is that the decisive moment will involve huge plays from Todd Heap and Le'ron McClain. Heap will make a tough catch in the middle of the end zone, and McClain will be the one who picks up the Polamalu blitz to give Flacco time to make the throw. Game winning drive orchestrated by Joe Flacco and ending with the perfect play and the perfect throw.

Ravens 21
Steelers 17

That's about as realistic as some of the other predictions. But this one would be much more fun watch.
