Roll Call For Pittsburgh

28 posts in this topic

Hey everybody. I just found out that I am going to the game this weekend in Pittsburgh. I was just wondering if anybody else will be going. If you are, what are you doing for tailgating? I am taking a bus trip there on gameday and if anybody is going to be at a Ravens tailgate that would be great to know where other Ravens fans will be. Also, has anyone been to a game in Pittsburgh before? I have been to other road games but I was wondering what to expect haha.

Expect 80's Female mullets and very few teeth.

I was thinking bout going with WNST, they have a promotion, but it's my Birthday this weekend and I don't feel like going to Jail for roughhousing with a Steeler fan.

Haha yea I remember seeing that picture of Housh when he caught the game-winning TD earlier this year, and I saw a few Steeler fans that were a little rough around the edges. Definitely a few mullets in there.

I have many enemies in Pitt with my FB posts about the Ravens. I hope you have a good time in the enemy's territory. Please, go with the blessing of Little Italy and the Sicilian of Baltimore.

Me and three of my buddies are heading up Saturday morning. Would love to find a Ravens tailgate as well. First time at Heinz Field so would like to find some friendly fans. Where is the WNST rally at? If anybody knows of anywhere else the information would be great.

I'll be there for my first time on Saturday as well. I was wondering if there was a rule of thumb for wearing your jersey in hostile territory? I'm not a wuss by any means, but I don't go out of my way to look for trouble either. I can handle the insults but I will not tolerate physical attacks of any kind. Are the fans at Heinz as borish as the philly crowd...or worse? What can I expect?

if my lady friend from pittsburgh would have gotten ticket i would have been up there and held it down amongst the black and yellow including my friend, lol. I just didn't have the disposable income this week to get up there w/o driving and get tickets, haha.

it's 4hrs away...and they try to flood our stadium. Can i expect to see some purple in the crowd?

If i had the money i'd buy up an entire section and raffle them off of for a small donation so we could have an area reserved like they do in college football.

just wondering....

Well I am too poor to afford the tickets (GGRR!) <_< but since I live in Pittsburgh, I'll be at a local bar watching the game.
If any Ravens fans will be venturing around the town, let us know! We're thinking about going to Station Square's Steel House to watch the game. It's a huge bar with many TVs, which is why we'll probably be heading there.

PS - I am not one of the Pittsburgh locals with an 80s mullet. B)

Although it is true that Pittsburgh locals take their football team way too seriously, I don't think you have to worry about physical violence, unless you're seriously running your mouth at the fans when the Steelers lose! :P The worse I've had when wearing Ravens gear is being booed by a state cop while at a local gas station. But if you ask me he was being flirtatiously obnoxious. But yeah, wear your jersey proud. Maybe take a coat or a hoodie if you start feeling uncomfortable.

As for me, I'm wise enough to not wear my Ravens gear on Saturday if I'm at an establishment called the "Steel House" unless I'm with several other Ravens fans! hehe Drunk sore loser Steeler fans are not my idea of fun.

Is anyone tailgating? I'll be parking in the North Shore Blue 10 Garage, but I read that there's no grilling in the garage

GO RAVENS!

Just be careful - I have been at M&T and Steeler fans there were pretty creepy. I can only imagine how they are at home!
Rockin' the purple and black!
I love how Harbaugh always acknowledges our fans in other stadiums - class move.
WE ROCK!
Go Ravens - all the way...

I was at Pittsburgh for our week 4 game. It wasn't as bad as some people may lead you to believe... however it's the playoffs now so...

You're going to run into your stereotypical, ignorant Steeler fans, no way around it. However, you'll also run into some good football fans who you can talk to. I remember the parking lot attendant telling me I couldn't park there because of my colors, he said it with a smile and a laugh then told me to have a good time.

Lol....me and a pile of the Crew are going. Happy early birthday to me!

We travel as a pack. Safety in numbers.

Not sure what we're doing yet. I'm sure that will be decided rather spontaneously.

Hey Guys, we're sending a bus from Baltimore to Pittsburgh and still have room.

You can tailgate and get a round trip for less than the cost of gas and parking.

Check it out and let us know what you think: http://afcdivision2.bowlbus.com/

We're going to be doing this for every Postseason game and for regular season next year as well. Like us on FB and we'll keep you updated.
