Confident?

VERY CONFIDENT!

We got this game!! Our defense is on fire right now, creating turnovers, making stops.

The offense is the big question but we seem to be able to get atleast 10 points against the steelers. Might be enough to win it!

I was actually more nervous about the Chiefs game than this one. I didn't watch the Chiefs play a single down all season and had no idea what to expect. I have watched the Steelers more than any other team besides the Ravens, and if the Ravens bring their A game like last week, they will win.

If Michael Oher plays well we are in excellent shape. If not, at least we have McLain and/or Heap to help out this time.

Exactly. The Steelers, Ravens aside, are the team I'm most familiar with. As you said, I hadn't seen the Chiefs play so I was a tad nervous - you always fear the unknown. I know the Steelers and I know how the Ravens play them so I'm not worried - it is what it is, another Pittsburgh / Baltimore match-up.

If the Ravens defense keeps playing like it has the past few weeks, we won't give them much to cheer about in Heinz Field.

I get the sentiment, but that last statement isn't 100% true; the Steelers have the same stakes as the Ravens. The only reason there's more pressure on them is because they're playing at home, they are favored by Vegas odds, and they've had the Ravens' number, both in games played in Pittsburgh and when Ben Roethlisberger is under center. Otherwise, pressure aside, the Steelers have as much to lose as the Ravens do since a loss has the losing team sitting at home the following weekend after a promising season.
I dont know about that. The Steelers don't have as many superstars in the last year or two of their careers as we do who have never won a championship. This could very well be Mason's last shot as well as others. The Steelers have a team loaded with people who have hoisted that trophy as recently as 2 years ago. This a Ravens team full of veterans who have never tasted that. Ray Lewis wants another. Ed, Mason, Q, Suggs, Ngata, Joe, etc. all want that first one. The Steelers are still playing for a lot because I know you can never have too many Super bowls, but i think it's different when so many of our guys have been so close and fallen short and don't know how much longer they have. Something seems different this year to me. Ray talking about taking his ring out and leaving it on his bedside table for the 1st time in 10 years, Ed and his brother, Flacco showing great strides....

The Steelers are still going to fight and dig in and want it, but I just have this weird feeling our guys want it more.

Yeah, in the past. I too have a feeling it is time for that to change.

as long as we keep flacco upright, we're ok, i feel more confident with this year's ravens than any other year past, my gut feeling is we will win the SB, b/c we can match any team in the playoffs, the only weakness i see in our team is the o-line, that's what every team is focusing on, they will blitz to the point where they overwhelm our o-line.

Their odds of winning are better this time but it all depends on what the officials have to do with it.

playing the Steelers is ALWAYS intense, but at this moment, we are really due to win this one.
I am sure it will be hard-fought on both sides, but we've got the emotion and momentum and they have been sitting around all week.
This is our time!
Go Ravens.

Obviously we're all riding the high of the beatdown on Sunday, but I am just as confident in our team as they are in themselves for Saturday. Now that Cam realizes he needs to attack the middle of the field to help negate blitzing, we should be solid!

Are you really predicting a complaint about the officiating? Does that mean if the Ravens win they called a good game but if the Steelers win the officials screwed the Ravens?

First, the refs can call a bad game that does not actually favor either team and still affect the game.

Second, Triplett is the crew. I really don't anticipate officiating issues, big ones anyway.

I'm sorry but it's comments like this that bother me. If you don't believe or aren't confident we can beat the Steelers...go put back on your Ward jersey please.

I myself have never been SO confident going into a Steelers game. It'll be tough no doubt. But a win is in the horizon.

Side note, thank you Warden for being a good fan, I sincerely mean that.

Oh boy, I can never say I feel confident going into a game against the Steelers... As much as i hate to admit it, the Steelers are definatly a world class team, and are never easy to beat. But I don't see why we couldn't win this game, we are, after all, getting used to Heinz.

With the last 7 meetings between these two teams being decided by a FG (or less) I'm not sure either side should feel "confident" exactly. I will say that I feel better than I've ever felt about us facing the Steelers this time around.

I have a calm going into this game. I was more worked up going into the game with the Cheifs. This one I just feel great about. I think it's our time.

Because I'm not overly optimistic I should become a Steeler fan?

I said it before to the chagrin of other forum members that I felt more confident of our chances against the Steelers this upcoming week then even the chances of beating KC. Having "momentum" being healthier, the road play-off success in past year gives me confidence. I'm kinda tiered of hearing the Ravens have NEVER beaten the steelers in the playoffs...because of what two games, that's not a wholew lot of opportunists there.

Nope...because, and I quote, "after the last game, I can't say that I am (confident)..."

Do you think any of the Ravens players aren't optimistic? You need to believe Jamal. That's all I'm saying. Positive thoughts lead to positive outcomes.

No ill feelings intended.

I sure do still plan on going to Dallas to watch the Ravens win.

On psychology and confidence-factor. Discussions and sitting around the locker room as someone described of Pitt, does not make for a very moving rallying call.

At the same time, expectations and over-assuredness can also yield drawbacks.

The Ravns team seems to have the right balance; especially, with regard to Flacco. He has more leadership capacity, and apparently more direct ivolvement in decision-making. I sense Harborough and Flacco have improved their channel of communications.

I saw you made the same mistake on another thread. It's Harbaugh, not Harborough.

As many of you have said, I am more confident about this game than I have been about a Steeler game for a long time. Our team is really peaking at the right time.
