We had more snow then that for the Bears game last year and took a pasting in the press because the game was changed to 4.

It wasn't so much the amount of snow, but for some reason everyone from Philly to NYC botched the reaction to the storm. NJ was in a state of emergency for a few days for instance. There are investigations over what went wrong and people will be fired and/or not reelected because of it.

Ahh! Yes, that one is more debatable. I want to argue it too, but Heaven forbid anything happened to a fan because of the storm. It was pretty bad in Philly. I think the NFL was pressured into by the city.

I could see it, drunk philly fans driving home after the game in the storm. I agree it with it being called off.
(was at my parents on Long Beach Island for that Sunday storm, road wasn't plowed till Tuesday.)

What do you guys call a blizzard? 5+ inches of snow? lol
Well, we had 28 inches with gusts of wind that created 4 foot drifts. Blizzard.
That is what was expected in Philly.

I'm in Monmouth County; we didn't see a plow until Wednesday. I think Asbury Park had streets that remained untouched until Thursday night. The reaction was pathetic....and widespread. It baffles the mind.

Jealous... we have about 3-4 feet total. Have a picnic table in the back that has completely disappeared.

We get 10 inches of snow at 11 pm at night and the next morning they are usually plowed.

We had between 28"-35" with 4'-5' drifts and 40+ MPH winds.

LBI I understand. It is a small beach community, they don't have plows.
But North Jersey, I don't know the excuse.
MD, last year there were people in the city stuck on their streets for over a week. But we did have a LOT of snow in two back to back storms.

This is where a snowmachine comes in handy
I assume you mean snowblower?
I lived in MN for a few years, so I know about lot's of snow. They called school off once because of black ice, but never for snow. Even though they called off school for safety reasons, our B-Ball coach had the team come in and practice 4 hours anyway.

Artificial turf yields more injuries, but running/speed element is increased. Grass is a natural shock absorber.
At one time, leagues considered the banning of artificial turf; since, it was more dangerous.

No, artificial turf does not neessarilly improve the outcome of professional soccer. The ball travels faster, but defensive plays are compromised, or higher injury rates result. Slide tackles and body checks are less dramatic

FYI guys, a fresh re-sod does not mean a good field. It takes more than a few days for it to set in, especially in the cold of winter. So expect a total mess of a field by halftime.

Going back to my days living in new england.. a few years back, the NFL mandated that the Patriots needed to re-sod gillete stadium before a playoff game with the Colts. The Pats waited till the last second to re-sod it, then left the sprinklers on the night before to freeze it, to hamper the Colts passing game. Not that anything like that creates the disadvantage here that it did in that situation, but teams will use someting like this to come up with any advantage that they can get.
