Ed Reed's Hit On McCluster...

17 posts in this topic

Anyone noticed that was the turning point of the game. THey were running all over us until Ed Reed welcomed the rookie into inthe NFL like he did to Moreno last year, and to Chris Johnson the year before

Going to the '08 play-off game, all Ed did was push Johnson back because he didn't want him stretching for a first down. Titans still feel it was dirty but he did nothing wrong.

Yeah that Hit was devastating to them... Poor McCluster had to get popped by Ed first then Ray later on.. lol the playoff welcome a rookie wants.....

Then Rays 3rd down and 1 stuff on Jones was excellent, which lead to 4th down stop on the pitch play

It's just a shame that for every big hit he makes he misses a tackle on a TD run.

True but it is not like our defense, especially our LB's to allow a run to even get in our secondary like that but he definitely took a wrong angle. I know Pitts will be watching film and trying to get some of the Chiefs blocking skeems because their team was doing a good job of bottling up our line and our LBs. We just have to lock down Ward and Wallace and it's a wrap.

I doubt it. The Chiefs have much more athletic o-line than the Steelers do. They'll pound the ball with Mendenhall the same way they always do and hope he can make some plays.

True you do have a good point because KC is more of a running team with the speed their backs have. Hopefully we improve the redzone percentages because that will be vital to our success.

I don't think Mendenhall's ever broken 100 yards against us, and I don't think that's going to change this week.... our D is looking like 2000-2001 with the amount of turnovers we've been generating.

That hit was a thing of beauty. By the books, hard, completely legal hit. I miss seeing Ed lay out people as often as he used to.

I don't think the Ravens quite realized the speed of Charles. Notice, they contained him after that TD.

Good to see Reed hitting like he used to. Reeds tackling has been a lot better than last year. I just hope that didn't hurt his shoulder. But I guess he isn't too worried about it.
