Asomugha is now a FA, i would really like to have him..... Would you take him??

Ill go ahead and say it for everybody

"Right player, right price."

That being said, I dont think we go after him because we already have a good secondary.

Unless we think Asomougha at age 30 is more valuable than Ngata, Flacco, and Rice than I doubt we will enter the bid war for him.

Please see this active thread on Nnamdi Asomugha.

Bear in mind, Asomugha is not officially a free agent until the start of the offseason, which is the day after the Super Bowl.

In re-reading the explanation of what happened with Asomugha, essentially, the Raiders only retain him until February 7th formally, but can do nothing to retain him under the current contract because the incentive-based clause automatically voids the final year of the contract.

What this means is, the Raiders can attempt to negotiate a new deal with Asomugha, but if no deal is reached, he is a free agent on February 7th and is eligible to be signed on March 4th, the start of the free agency period. The Raiders cannot tag Asomugha in any way; they must either sign him to a new deal or he will be let go.

Because of this technicality, any discussion of Asomugha still belongs in Other NFL Teams until he is eligible to be pursued on February 7th.
