Strahan To Retire

Well, don't forget Steve McNair.

McNair might not be a shoo-in, but he'll at least be eligible, and someone MIGHT give him a passing thought, at the very least.

My guess is that McNair is more likely in 2014 or 2015, and he still may not be a guaranteed first-ballot at that point.

EDIT- Never mind, you added McNair in at the last minute before I replied.

Yeah, looks like my edit and your post sprang up within the same minute.

I agree that he's far from a lock, but he'll still make the field more crowded. If he makes it in, it won't be because of his stats alone. He'll have to slowly gain momentum with the selectors as they remember his on-field actions and off-field class.

Definitely have to emphasize the off-field class, no doubt.

A part of me was somewhat shocked that he had spoken so much about how he enjoyed his time in Baltimore, when I thought he would've made more reference to his time in Tennessee.

He really seemed as if he cherished the two short years he was a Raven, and that struck a chord with me.

He could've easily held his retirement press conference in Tennesee, even requesting to be flown down there after making the announcement to his teammates. But he did it in Baltimore (well, Owings Mills), and he spoke fondly of the organization.

That will always resonate with me.

he was one of the best DE of all time, one of my favorite players of all time

I'll have to agree and say that while I never liked the Giants all that much, I did always admire and respect Strahan.

peace out to one of the best DE's of all time! if I were constructing an all era team, he would definintely be my LDE with Reggie White at the other end.
