Thank You, Jets!

They did 2 huge favors for us by beating the Colts. The first is obvious, we won't have to face the Colts this year. But the second thing is less obvious.

We now will face the Steelers next week (assuming we beat KC) instead of the Patriots. The last thing I wanted was a scenario where we go into New England and knock off the Patriots only to lose to the Steelers in the title game and hand them the AFC crown. Now as long as we take care of business this week, we will have the opportunity to kick the Steelers out of the playoffs first, then take our chances with the Patriots after that.

Not to mention, there is still slim hope of us hosting the conference title game as long as the Jets keep winning.

NE is nearly impossible to beat after a bye week, so I'd much rather take my chances against the Steelers. (all this is assuming we beat KC, and after todays games thats the furthest thing from a safe assumption)

Exactly. I would much rather play NE in the AFCCG (or the Jets if they somehow pull off a victory, which I don't think they can).

Exactly. They just have to take care of business tomorrow.

In all honesty. The Colts were weak. This isn't the same Colts team that has given us (and the entire league) fits over the last few years.

It's all set up for us to take out Pittsburgh next week! Of course with them first getting the win in KC, which IMO wont be no cake walk. Who knows what Baltimore team we are going to see tomorrow, hope Cam brought the big boy playbook for the playoffs! Good luck boys, the stage is set for you to get some get back next week in Pittsburgh!

Nice scenario but we are getting WAY ahead of ourselves, lol.

So what your saying is today isn't Monday and we haven't beat KC? This is one strong drink I have.

Just curious as to why you think that. I know Clark is out because of an injury but besides him being out of the lineup the team is basically unchanged.

Jets deserve credit here, not many teams come back down the field and score after just watching Manning do that to your defense.

What does it matter whether we play PIT next week or in the AFCCG?
[/quote]

Rather see the Jets in that game, then at least the Ravens will have home field advantage, which would be huge. I don't want to get ahead of myself though, still have to stomp the Chiefs tomorrow afternoon!

Agreed. I wasn't worried about facing either the Jets or Colts. I just wanted to go into Pitt rather than NE. I think we know the Steelers better and even though it's hostile Heinz Field is an environment we are used to playing in.

Now. if the Jets can knock out NE (which I doubt) I wouldn't complain. AFCCG at The Bank!

I'm not calling anything. If Seattle can beat New Orleans, anything can happen.

At least a loss to KC wouldn't be that embarrassing if it happens. If the offense shows up I think we win. But I don't think it will.

The New York Jets, Rex Ryan and Sanchez hmmmm. I think I'm starting to see a trend here that looks very similar to the Harbaugh/Flacco show we got going on here. Now take personal stats out through the regualr season and playoffs with Flacco & Sanchez, TDs/INTs etc etc. And it's really funny to see Rex and Sanchez along with the rest of their team of course, sitting right where Harbs & Flacco were last year. Rex & Sanchez make it to the AFCCG their first year, Harbs & Flacco same thing and on the road none the less. Second year here Rex & Sanchez sit in the same spot once again where Harbs & Flacco were their second year together. Now what happens from here on out is of course the unknown, but just funny to see a complete deja vu scenario unfolding before our eyes, with the way this is playing out between the two teams and their first year coaches and QBs. Now I think it's just crazy and funny how similar the Jets and Ravens really are, and with out the nit picking of how they got there or who they played in the playoffs, or the Ravens knocking off the #1 seed Joes rookie year and etc. etc.! Just the plain and simple similarities of first year coaches with Rex & Harbs, and their QBs to start fresh with them and their careers with their new team(s). Kind of freaking crazy if you ask me.

And then of course there are the Falcons, ughhhhh well my beer is gone and that's a whole different book lol. Get a win fellas, I need some get back on Pittsburgh next week!

What's interesting is if we beat the Chiefs, two division rivals will play to advance, that will hands down be the best games next week, if it works out that way.
I would almost want to face the Pats due to having a weaker defense than the Steelers, but the Pats have a stronger offense.
Who knows, we're on the road either way.
I would want to face a weak Colts team, rather than a Jets team that could beat the Colts.
I said before the game, if the Jets win, we would hope not to face them if they are able to beat the Colts, as they did, even though it's a fairly weak Colts team.
But, if we ever face the Jets in the playoffs, we'll have home field advantage.
Yes, like everyone responsible is saying, let's focus on this game against the Chiefs, which could be a very tough game.
But, I like our team from what I'm hearing about the energy they have as a team, and our veteran experience.
Do I ever like seeing the Steelers in the playoffs, no...
Do we ever really beat Big Ben, no...
Can we, sure...
I think we can do it, and I hope we do, but it's gonna be a hell of a performance if we do.
And like I said, two intense AFC divisional rival games in the playoffs, you can't ask for much more, if we make it through tomorrow, or today, for those early birds.

This is a bit off topic and a touchy subject but I think our players will fight twice as hard, if not more, for Reed and the situation with his brother.
I think Reed could have a huge day, and the Ravens in general. I just hope it can translate into the offense as well.

I will say this Pitt after a bye tends to be a 65% chance of them coming out of the gate and tripping on the start line . with reed back we can add some stairs to that trip

They lose 65% of their matches after a bye week? That's bad. (for them of course)

From an outside perspective, if we do the business today, one of the best AFC divisional line-ups is on the cards. PIT-BAL and NE-NYJ will be one heck of a weekend of football.

as good as home field is its not that big of a deal to the Ravens. They are a very good road team.
That said, things are working out how I had hoped. Indy is gone.

I don't doubt our D for one second. They will be there and they will be ready for this wildcard clinch. My doubts are pointed towards our offense. Joe reaaally needs to show up today to pull off this win in Arrowhead. I do have faith in him, but he better not take this young Chiefs D for granted.
