Smack Talk Section

7 posts in this topic

I see these on a lot of the other boards that I go on, and I was just wondering whether or not the idea has ever been considered here.

I know we have a no smack talk policy as a part of the guidelines of the board, but I think it could work if it was all kept in one section.

Just a thought. I'm not lobbying for it so I can start cussing whoever I like, but that's the main thing I notice we don't have that others do.

It has been considered and we are not going there since it brings down the entire board and spills it to the other forums

This has been discussed numerous times, and the main reason why we don't have it is because of the type of environment that we try to create. It's too easy for smack talk and confrontations to spill over onto other parts of the board.

We already have too many people who aren't familiar with the basic rules in the Code of Conduct; if we get people who register exclusively to post in the Smack Talk section and they begin posting in other parts of the board, they'd likely end up disrupting the civil atmosphere that we have. It just creates more work for us Mods and would also lead to more unsavory posters registering in hordes after particularly heated games.

I can see your points, especially since it's quite obvious you guys try to keep these boards clean and friendly, probably more so than a lot of other boards do.

Thanks for clearing it up.

Hey, I'm still waiting for my ALL CAPS warn status to go away, let alone trying to talk smack to those hated squeeler fans in our forum. Not that I wouldn't mind giving those trollers a peice of my mind...lol
