....i know what you mean, our guys got beat up by Oakland, they're so dang big...and some kind of bug has taken hold of the team....some guys are just getting over it, hopefully fewer are coming down with it....rumour has it that the team may have just started passing it around about Raiders game time.....Haley instituted "kindergarten rules", like handwashing frequently, etc....

Guess there is a lot of Happy Birthday being sung lol Flu sucks.

I heard about that, and a player missing a game or practice because of an illness is the worst.
The Ravens had the bug a couple weeks ago, although everyone was able to play and I assume the same with the Chiefs.
I know they are only human, but you'd think NFL players are very healthy and in shape enough to bypass a cold, but I guess once someone gets it, it's so easy to pass around a locker room, especially those that have and are able to see their kids.
I heard the handwashing was for 2 minutes or something, that is a bit extreme, if anything they'll end up with dry hands...

Whatever went through the Ravens team was more than a cold. I don't recall which player it was (I want to say Reed) but they said they felt the worst they had in their lives. Flu bugs are horrible contagious and hard to get rid of once the pass the germ merry go round begins. Note to KC: Keep that bug on your side of the field! lol

Harbs once said they thought it could have been food poisoning, but I think that was about Fabian.
And then Reed, Carr and a few others got sick.

Anyway, back on topic, sick or not it'll be a great game, but I have faith in our experience and veteran leadership.
We'll be hitting twice as hard in the playoffs, the only thing I'd worry about is getting the passing game back in order, get Boldin and Heap the ball put up 7's instead of 3's and let our defense show a relatively young offense what the playoffs are all about.
I think this game favors the Ravens in many ways.
I don't at all count out the Chiefs, home field advantage will be huge, and youth can help with confidence until it's beaten out of you, which could really demoralize the younger players.

It's funny, but I was going to mention the Happy Birthday rule, I didn't see your post until now, nor did I think anyone would get it...

They did say Kindergarten rules lol I would really hope all the teams stress hand washing for flu and not sharing towels for MRSA and regular staph/strep infections.

Shouldnt the thread title be, "Why We WILL Beat KC"?
I think that's actually what it was originally, but it was changed to a more PC perspective.

I would think it could have been changed to "Should" then.
"Could" is sort of implying that we're not expected to win...I think we are supposed to win this game, as predicted by about 90% of sportswriters and talk show hosts...

Mike Shanahan -
"I know people have tried to prepare me but until you actually experience it, you really don't know how loud it is. It is a fun experience. I remember in that playoff game, that 14-10 (playoff game in 1998) -- and this is before the game -- I'm talking three or four minutes before the game and I am trying to talk to my son (Kyle). He is standing right next to me, I'm yelling and he can't hear me. I am yelling at the top of my voice trying to get him to get something and he has no idea what I am saying. That is how loud it was."

Rod Smith -
The first time I ever went in there it scared the hell out of me -- and that was just the national anthem," Smith remembered. "When they say, 'The home of the Chiefs' right there in the national anthem, I thought they were going to attack us. I thought 70,000 people were about to come out of the stands and get us."

Tedy Bruschi -
"[Arrowhead] is the loudest outdoor stadium in the league. It's so loud you can't hear yourself think."

John Elway-
“I don’t know if you say you can’t wait to play that game because this is going to be a blast. When you went to Kansas City, it was an absolute physical, lay-it-on-the-line game. When you got done, you were going to be totally exhausted and beat up.”
“The one thing I remember the most is that it was loud. As a quarterback, that’s your worst enemy. And that I heard every little thing in the book that could be said about my mother.”

Jim Mora -
"It felt different in Kansas City. Kansas City's crowd is amazing and you felt it. You felt it. It's like I talk about our Dome...you want it to be a suffocating feeling. You felt that at Kansas City. At Denver yesterday...you just didn't feel it. You didn't feel the heat, you didn't feel the emotion, you didn't feel the crowd, so we didn't get worked up. We kind of just kept playing and we felt like our offense was moving the ball and they continued to move the ball, so we felt like we'd get back in it. And we did. But I think, honest to goodness, a lot of it has to do with the crowd. It's a big difference between Kansas City and Denver. Big difference. Big. Big difference between Kansas City and most places. We want to be talking about Atlanta like I'm talking about Kansas City and I think we're on our way.

Rodney Harrison –
"It's not the same as other places," said the Patriots' Rodney Harrison, who formerly was with the Chargers. "It's loud. It's the loudest I've ever played in. The fans are out there four hours before game time, probably tailgating. But it's a great atmosphere for football.

I looked for the quote of Ray Lewis's statement but can't find it. It was along the lines of: The upside of away games is the crowd is quite for the KC offense, which Ray Lewis says works out great for the defense. It makes it easier for them to communicate with each other to make their adjustments.

Edit:
Well I found one quote, not the one from this year, but from 2007
"Most of the time, our defense might play better away, because we can communicate better, because when we're at home, it's extremely loud".

This is not smack talk but the Kansas City Chiefs are posers. There is no way they win this game and this is why, their whole season is a fluke. Look at the teams they have played, mind you they have been Blow-out a couple times too.

Usually i don't like to base a teams play against their Division rivals because those games are unpredictable, so here are the teams they beat and lost to.

Wins- Cleavland, Sanfransisco,Jacksonville, Buffalo, Arizona, Seahawks, St.Louis, Tennessee.

Loses- Indy, Houston.

They went 2 out of 6 in the division games.

Also this is for the K.C fans, because their Planet Chiefs forum guys really think their gonna knock us around. I wish i could see their faces Sunday when the inevitable happens.
This post is exactly why people automatically assume football fans are meat heads. Seahawks won today, nuff said.

I really don't care who Kansas played to get to the playoffs. They made it this far, and we should mind our own game, not theirs. In fact, I would actually love for Ravens fans to stop talking trash to KC fans as well as any other football fans (except for maybe Pittsburgh, lol). I don't give a rats behind whether they trash talk us on their forums or not. I just hope we go out and do what we do today.

Really, did anyone doubt we were going to win this game. You guys should go to the Kansas city chiefs board. They are just pissed off. They're acting like they got upset-ted.
