Why We Could Beat K.C.

This is not smack talk but the Kansas City Chiefs are posers. There is no way they win this game and this is why, their whole season is a fluke. Look at the teams they have played, mind you they have been Blow-out a couple times too.

Usually i don't like to base a teams play against their Division rivals because those games are unpredictable, so here are the teams they beat and lost to.

Wins- Cleavland, Sanfransisco,Jacksonville, Buffalo, Arizona, Seahawks, St.Louis, Tennessee.

Loses- Indy, Houston.

They went 2 out of 6 in the division games.

Also this is for the K.C fans, because their Planet Chiefs forum guys really think their gonna knock us around. I wish i could see their faces Sunday when the inevitable happens.
Glad you're supporting your team, but don't ditch common sense....You're coming to OUR PLACE...and you have no idea what awaits you.....
We almost beat Indy AT THEIR PLACE, before more injuries hurt them...
We had the Texans until late 4th.Qtr....again, at their place....
Divisional games are a beast - even you guys know this....
I expect the Chiefs to finish the season as they started....the World praised the Chargers pre-season and the Chiefs BEAT 'EM....
Don't take this game so lightly...bad things can happen

The Crow Call's it Baltimore by 14 and will shut-out Chiefs in the second half! :oldwiseman:

Your Ravens are NOT quicker....Jamaal Charles ran on a world class Texas relay team...Dexter McCluster is lightning....Eric Berry's speed is frightening...I'll toss in Arenas, Bowe, etc....

You guys should see what KC is saying about the Ravens; Flacco is garbage, they think Sanchez is better. The Ravens are overrated. Ray Lewis is a murderer. Our defense sucks. Our WRs suck, including Boldin. We're the "Rat Birds", so on and so forth. It's ridiculous the amount of disrespect a team that has beaten on a bunch of nobodies is showing a team thats been to the playoffs for three straight seasons. We play in the damn AFC North. The AFC West is the garbage can of the conference much like the NFC West is in their conference. You guys can't be serious in saying that the initiator of this thread is being cocky or that it's uncalled for.

I'm not a homer by any means, but there's a point where you have to stop saying all these nice things about a team who's fans are clearly delusional and the same team we're about to play in the playoffs. I know that a few fans online don't represent the entire fanbase as a whole, but come on now, they're the enemies at least for this Sunday. I had a whole lot of respect for the Chiefs because I liked some of their players on the team coming out of college, but now, nah, not so much. I don't take that trash talk so lightly like a lot of fans, especially when it's before the game. It's disrespectful, and to be totally honest, I don't even think the Chiefs have a chance this Sunday.
I'll disagree....each site has it's share of idiots, but the vast majority of long-time posters to the Chiefs forum are quite respectful and appreciate the Ravens as competitors....I've read some Chiefs posters to your site and I hope you'll agree we have not come to "trash talk".....

What is the board that you belong too? I think I might make a quick visit and see what's up.
If you want to check out a quality Chiefs site with tolerable and knowledgable fans check out Arrowheadpride.com It isn't a forum, but the articles are more informative and void of homerism(from the writers) for the most part. They have some pretty good writers that break down stats of our opponents before games, so I would check it out you might even learn some cool stuff about your teams tendencies as well. That is the most visited site on my computer. At the bottom of every article there is a self updating comment section that requires no refresh, so it acts as a thread in its self. That would be the best site to look into.

Be careful assuming we will run at will, because of their final game of the season.

KC is still 14th vs. the run - and better than we are (17th) vs the pass.

And remember... when assuming we will run at will:

Vs. Buffalo, 32nd vs the run - Rice had 72 yds rushing.
Vs. Carolina, 23rd vs the run - Rice had 65 yds rushing.

Nothing is automatic. Cam's gameplanning, avoiding turnovers and stopping THEIR running game will determine the outcome, IMO.

Got all the pointers i wanted to say. I don't know, maybe its cause their place is full of Band-wagoners, but their level of cockiness and disrespect is beyond believable. They got Blown-out in the same stadium were about to play by the Raiders. UGHH i cant stand that place.

Every opposing fanbase says that. Anonymity over the interwebs empowers a lot of people, apparently. Too bad they're not the ones that have to play our terrible, terrible Ravens :)

Wow thats just plain ole classless to say IMO...and if you spin the tables you can say we got 8 of our wins from loosing teams this year....
Cincinnati 1
Cleveland 2
Denver 1
Buffalo 1
Miami 1
Carolina 1
Houston 1

So does this make us frauds by your very definition...I know these boards are just opinionated talk from anyone and everyone and just goes to show you how quick some are to speak without thinking things out or fully looking at the entire situation....This is why I dont waste a whole lot of time on them......yet surely like to peak in from time to time cause once in awhile there is some very educational and factual stuff being said....

Fans can take the Chiefs game as lightly as they like and nothing bad can happen from it. :bitenails:
We know the Ravens aren't taking them lightly and that is all that matters.
Personally, I don't think any game is a given, ever.

I think one factor that could hurt the Chiefs is they're relatively young, so if we can get a lead on them, or humiliate them in some way, they could really fall off.
The Ravens will be hitting twice as hard in the playoffs.
However, this could also be a good thing for the Chiefs, they say ignorance is bliss, and this idea may move the Chiefs to an impressive victory.
They have a lot of great young talent and if they are able to keep them around, they could grow into a great team.
I no way do I think this is a gimme for the Ravens, but I do know that Ray is hungry for that second ring, he's gonna get the team moving, and if we see the Ravens play Ravens football, it's gonna be a good day.
Also, the weather could be a factor. I'm hearing cold and possible snow, this shouldn't be a problem for the Ravens, however, I don't know how the Chiefs play in such weather, maybe a Chiefs fan could elaborate.

Most people say the Chiefs are untested and I would agree with that. We haven't really beaten a good team. The Ravens have veterans, experience, and have better match ups on the field for the most part. However, I do think the Chiefs can win this game.

Yes. KC relies on a lot of rookies but, they have all year. They are very young and have nothing to lose. Also consider that 5 of our 6 2010 draft picks were team captains. They have composure and poise. Also, they have short memories and are playmakers. The young guys will be alright and you shouldn't underestimate them.

Arrowhead will be at full capacity. Yesterday they released standing room only tickets. This will be a huge advantage and like nothing most of your team has ever experienced.

Last, the Chiefs haven't won a playoff game in a very long time. They always go one and done. They are due for a win as far as history goes.

Come to think of it, when was the last time KC hosted a playoff game? This isn't a shot at the Chiefs or anything. Just genuinely curious. Besides, I've always wanted to visit Arrowhead Stadium someday just to soak in the atmosphere.

Anyways, the one player that scares me the most is Jamaal Charles. I don't know where this kid got his moves over the past couple of years, but looking at the highlight reels this kid looks like slower Chris Johnson (that's still pretty fast). And we couldn't handle CJ in the playoffs until we knocked him out of the game.

I still have the Purple & Black on top though. Even though we aren't playing as well as we'd all like, we still get the W's. That is the most important stat, after all.

It was several years ago. It was the season the Chief's went 13-3 under Vermeil. It was a crazy game. They hosted Indianapolis. It's the only playoff game in history neither team punted the ball. It was just back and fourth all day. Neither team could stop the other. In the second half, Priest Holmes had a long 40 yard run and a Colt's player (Marlin Jackson?) caught him and forced a fumble and Indy recovered the ball. It was the only turnover. Indy scored on their next drive and they won the game.

The evidence is here from the past 16 games that this will not be a blowout either way,The only easy game the Ravens had was against Denver....I see a 23-17 score in this one hopefully in the Ravens favor.
The evidence from the last 16 games shows that the Ravens had one of the toughest schedules of any team in the NFL and the Chiefs had one of the easiest. From that, I'm not sure how you could draw the conclusion that the game will be close(not to say it won't be).

I wonder what the chiefs record would have been if they had played the steelers twice, ne, no and atlanta in addition to the colts, who I believe is the only team they played this year that has made it into the playoffs.

I agree with all of this except the close game thing... I think it will be close. Very close. On the Chief's forum I go to, I predicted 13-10 KC. Look for this game to be very similar to your 2008 playoff game in Tennesee. Cassel is similar to Collins that year, Charles is simlar to Johnson, KC has only one ledgit receiving threat, the defenses are similar in talent level. The difference between the two games will be the venue and it will get KC over the hump. You guys won against Tennesee 13-10 in 2008. We just can't let you have the ball at the end of the game.

There are parallels between the current Cheifs team and the '08 Titans team but the Ravens are much different, specifically on offense. Joe has improved, Rice is now a much bigger part of the offense and the receivers are significantly better. Not that those changes have resulted in a better offense for the Ravens this season, I can see them taking advantage of KC's defensive weaknesses defensively.

I think it will be close but not like that game. I actually think about the same score 13-10, mostly because lack of offensive lines. But if the Ravens do fire on their cylinders it could be a much higher scoring game 23-20.

That Titans game we had a lot of luck on our side which made it close. Both teams actually had awesome OLines. We went in against the best team in the NFL and eked out a win, barely. That game was brutal defensively.

Yeah. They probably were better defensivly. I couldn't believe you guys beat them and that was a good game. However, I do see some similarities between KC and that Tennesee team. I expect both teams to be firing on all cylinders. Both teams played bad last week.

I know your team will. I highly doubt our team will, they haven't all year. If they did, the whole league would be in trouble. Our team will do enough (or lack there of it) to keep this game close until late in the 4th.

I live in KC and have been forced to listen to everyone talk all week about how Charles is gonna run all over our defense and how our defense is too old and too slow to handle Bowe and Charles. I want the Ravens to stomp them to remind chiefs fans around here why they have been in the bottom of the league for so long. I cant wait to be sitting there cheering on our boys on sunday. Go RAVENS!!!

You definately have the talent to win it all. KC does not but, they are the wild card in this tournament. The truth is no one knows what KC will do. They have played good all year and earned their spot but, they haven't beaten anybody good... yet...

Hey, you have to beat the teams that are put on your schedule. We as Ravens fans shouldn't be smashing the Chiefs about not beating elite teams. 2008 & 2009 we couldn't beat playoff caliber teams, yet still made noise in the playoffs.

All the Chiefs need is one game for this to change. Just like the Pats and us last year.

something for the "stat-happy".....offenses are pretty even in pts/game, yds/gm, 3rd.down pct., TOP and turnovers....really even !!....only sacks show some spread, Chiefs/32, Ravens/40 sacks given up.....

defenses are close too: Ravens/17pts/gm, Chiefs/20pts/gm.....3rd.down pct./38%/both teams.....again, sacks show some spread, Chiefs/38, Ravens/27 sacks registered....

Flacco is the better QB in passing yds/completion and pct./completed...

Ravens FG kicker is better 90% to 77%.....

....so, it seems in a FG battle, Ravens could win....in the sacking game, Chiefs will give the Ravens a good fight.....and the all important turnover battle is key, with both teams pretty even, but at the END of the game???, probably not......

Our defense is pretty banged up, or so they are letting on, but it's a list of the people you wouldn't want on it.
Wilson, Ngata, Suggs, Reed, the list goes on.
I'm sure they will all play, but that is a possible factor that has me worried.

As far as comparing stats between the two teams, it doesn't make much sense to me.
The Ravens talent doesn't match the stats nor the record (12-4)

I kinda have a similar feeling coming into this game as I did about the Bucs game.
Am I crazy for thinking the Bucs are somewhat similar to the Chiefs?

Nope. In terms of overall youth, both teams are very comparable. On offense, both teams don't have many playmakers but the few they do have are very explosive. KC's defense is better than Tampa's but neither unit is among the best in the league.

....i know what you mean, our guys got beat up by Oakland, they're so dang big...and some kind of bug has taken hold of the team....some guys are just getting over it, hopefully fewer are coming down with it....rumour has it that the team may have just started passing it around about Raiders game time.....Haley instituted "kindergarten rules", like handwashing frequently, etc....
