WWE announced today that veteran performer D-Lo Brown has re-signed with the company. Brown, a former Intercontinental and European champion, was released from his WWE/F contract in 2003.

I remember D-Lo Brown back in the WWF days when he used to be a member of the Nation of Domination with Faarooq (now semi-retired and working under his real name, Ron Simmons), former-Olympian Mark Henry, Kama Mustafa b/k/a The Godfather, and an up-and-coming Rocky Maivia b/k/a The Rock (now Dwayne Johnson in Hollywood).

I always thought he had a lot of potential as a main event performer, but was lost in the shuffle when the WWF Attitude Era came to an end and WCW was purchased by Vince McMahon. There were simply too many performers on the talent roster, and he just didn't have the mic skills at the time to stand out. His character was too basic, and when he was paired with Chaz (formerly Headbanger Mosh), that tag team went nowhere.

It'll be interesting to see how D-Lo will be brought back to TV. He'll probably be a surprise draftee in the upcoming WWE Draft in two weeks.

I remeber D-Lo Brown. He was kind of plain. I remember his special move being some spasm attack then doing a leg drop.

Well, I remember he was one of the more technically-gifted workers on the roster before guys like Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, Chris "We-don't-mention-him-anymore-because-of-things-he-did" Benoit, etc. came along.

And yes, I remember the leg drop with the little spasm/shimmy beforehand. LOL.

But his finisher was the Lo'Down frog splash. Which looked awkward when he did it since he tucked his arms/hands completely underneath himself (almost like a split or something) before outstretching his body for the splash in mid-air.

In an older N64 Wrestling game, I renamed him "Houseguest" because he looked like Sinbad in that game.
