KC Papers Report Dwayne Bowe Is No Show For Practice Today

21 posts in this topic

The Kansas City Chiefs website and Kansas City's local papers are showing that both pro-bowlers, Bowe and White were absent from practice due to an "illness". (http://www.kmbc.com/sports/26378506/detail.html) It is probably the same stomach flu that went around our team the last couple weeks. However, any practice he misses and the more his body is worn down due to sickness, the better it is for us, regardless. Hopefully, he is sick enough that he misses practice all week. Of course, it's not like he's a qb and it will make that much difference, but we will take the advantages where we can get them. Hopefully, appendicitis is contagious!!!

I never hold credence to "illness" injuries. Usually these guys come out and put up monster numbers and the commentators are left praising them because they were sick.

I saw its appendicitis
Per Nick Wright of 610 Sports, coach Todd Haley said that Bowe will appear on the injury report as not practicing due to an illness. (Maybe he really does have appendicitis; the Chiefs supplied the same description several weeks ago for quarterback Matt Cassel.
Which is really strange since Cassell had it, If its true that is really strange since its not contagious.

I think we prepare for KC's absolute best, and if we get gifted with some gameday illnesses, look at it as a blessing.

Cleveland has Staph Infection... Kansas City has Appendicitis.

Hope Bowe can play, definitely want to see if we would be able to shut him down.

Grain of salt. Nick Wright is sports talk personality and a questionable source of information.

He will play, and he will have an impact on the game. Him and Cassell have a pretty good connection going right now. I just can't see Bowe not being relevant in this game, too much at stakes.

Nothing some IV before kickoff and at half cant help him with, the dude will play, no one is going to miss this game if they can walk/run.

Our guys have it a lot worse, and some mystery illness, unless it's the Bubonic Plague, isn't going to stop Bowe from playing, and playing well.

Exactly. Same reason Reed will play with his rib injury.

This will be KC's only playoff game, so I'm sure everyone will be there. We have a remedy for Bowe and his name is Reed. Cassel gets happy feet when pressured and throws wildly. So, we must rush the QB to win. Hopefully, we can score many offensive TDs to quiet the critics. Go Ravens.

There seems to be a bug going through KC. I hope they shake it before you guys arrive. I am beginning to wonder if the illnesses were setting in last Sunday, because that was a very uncharacteristic game for our team. The whole reason he said maybe he does have appendicitis is because the last time we signed someone to the 53 man roster was when Cassel had appendicitis. It was an attempt at a joke.

Bowe was back yesterday but Waters still has the flu. Losing Waters would be horrible for KC. It would mean Asamoah (rookie) would be starting his first game in the playoffs vs. Ngata :34853_doh: . He's been pretty good in limited snaps but that's a big assignment...

I heard the Chiefs are urging players to wash their hands at every opportunity.

I scared of players sneezing into the faces of our guys, etc. Even if we win we could come away with the flu bug.

Man the front office must think their players have some crazy Xray vision that gets rid of microbes and bacteria when they stare hard enough lol

just messin with ya lol

Is it actual FLU or is it just the common cold, the two are highly different and the symptons carried with them are extremely different as well.

Caught again. Wash. But sometimes if you stare at something hard enough, strange things can occur.

I am unsure what it is. If it is the flu or common cold. But considering players are getting extremely sick, isn't a good sign either way.
Chiefs G Waters returns to practice after 2 days

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)—Kansas City guard Brian Waters(notes) has returned to practice after missing two days with an undisclosed illness.

The Chiefs appeared to be close to full strength Friday for Sunday’s home playoff game against Baltimore. Pro Bowl wide receiver Dwayne Bowe(notes) was back Thursday after missing Wednesday’s practice.

Chiefs players have been urged to wash their hands frequently with soap and hot water to try and keep germs from spreading.
