Sobering Article On The Receivers
This is it...

That's the most telling quote of the whole thing. Almost every skill player has had their worst season, statistically, in recent memory, but we're having one of the best seasons, as a team, that we've ever had. It all comes down to winning and, like him or not, we've had a 12-win season with Cameron as our coordinator.
Many of us would say we won 12 games despite Cam, not because of him.

But didn't it count against the Pats or the Steelers, when the team was playing for the #2 seed?

Isn't the goal to win every game you play? I just don't see how any coach could be so arrogant to think he could get by and win a game without opening up his play-book unless his team is playing a doormat.

Boldin is ready to go every game; he loves to compete. It hasn't been his fault he's gone entire halves without getting a play drawn up for him.

Have you seen the things Cam does? I mean would it really surprise you that much? It sounds a little absurd for me I'm just trying to put logic to whatever goes on in the head of Cam.
And I do see how Cam could be so arrogant to think he could just get by and win a game, that is illustrated by his conservative second half play calling.
And yes Boldin is ready to go any game, he has shown that. But you cannot deny that he steps up an extra step on those important games, as does Flacco usually. And the two stepping up combined means more yards for Boldin.

Hey, now, I never said "because" of him, I said "with" him. While I may agree with you, he succeeded in spite of him, in some cases, we were still very successful with him.

I see what you mean, and your point is valid, but I just can't see Boldin and Co. being held back any longer. This is why Mase came back, why we brought in Boldin and signed Housh. It's now or never.

I love the optimism, and I would love for it to happen, but we have been saying that since about week 8.

It's true we fans have been saying it all season. NFL pundits are now getting in on the act though. Starting to question Cam's abilities. This puts the spotlight on the play calling going into the playoffs. Harbaugh has been defending Cam all season. I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to look like an idiot. Plus the players are coming out and voicing their frustration, not just with production, but specifically with the play calling.

Yes, as fans we've been saying it all season. Now though, I think the pressure is on Cam to produce. I could be wrong but the feeling I get is he is fighting for his job. Question remains though: does Cam even KNOW any other plays? Guess we find out on Sunday.

Harbaugh has shown that he will defend a Raven till the bitter end PUBLICLY, and that is something I like about him. That is a good character trait. I refuse to believe that he does not see the writing on the wall, he is too good of a coach. I'm with you, Cam is playing for his job, and I hope he wins his job, because that means we do really well in the post-season. I really do believe that he is hampering this team, but I also believe that he deserves the right to fight to fix it. Up until now, he has been extremely hard-headed though, I hope that changes. I have to think that at least the attempt will be made. Use the darned player the way they are supposed to be used. Someone has to have said this to him by now right?

I'm not sure that is true. I think the play calling is going to be much more creative beginning this Sunday. I might be dreaming, but it may be that we have been laying low and will "unleash hell in January". Anyway, one can hope.........

"unleash hell in January" is our playoff quote next year!

In all honesty, I think the Ravens will come out clicking on all cylinders this upcoming game. It's just in the air, I can't put a finger on what I precisely think will be the factor. But I'm really expecting a huge game out of our offense, to silence all the critics.

Interesting article, if they could be frank, I bet they would say that we could still have the production from Rice & Heap, and each of them would have much better numbers- with better play calling.

we've had what now? 17 weeks of watching the Ravens offense in operation? we need to face the fact that it is what it is! we can't squeeze blood out of a turnip!

they have had "flashes" of explosiveness this season but that is all they were...flashes! the Ravens offense didn't blow teams out in the regular season and they probably won't during the playoffs. they have played (for the most part) close low scoring games and probably will do so in the playoffs. the offense has stalled at times and yet they win ball games and probably will do the same in the playoffs.

yet, they were 12-4 in the regular season. go figure! but, to believe the "hype" that now that they are in the playoffs that the "real" Ravens offense will some how materialize and that they have finally found their identity is kinda absurd. the Ravens are a decent team. they are good, not great and could be better.

can they win the Superbowl? i don't know! but, i do know that they are in the tournament and have a great opportunity (as well as all the other teams) to do so. i hope so!

Let's Go Ravens!

You guys need to find a way to get Q the ball. The man is a Ray Lewis on offense. He can take over a game. I know Flacco favorite receiver is Mason, but if you want to win you better find a way to Q the ball.

Thought I'd post this here..

Apparently, the Carroll County Times has stated that the Ravens have given up on throwing to Anquan's way due to defensive schemes. With the way he's been looked at the past few weeks, I wouldn't doubt that either. Not trying to start a whole new thread about why Cameron should go, but just found it interesting

Good job posting this. The quote from the actualy article reads:
The Ravens don't seem to know how to get Boldin the football on a consistent basis, usually giving up on throwing it in his direction if they think there's any risk of an interception.
I can live with them not wanting to force him the football but not even drawing up plays for him like screens, crossing routes or slants is pathetic.

They can't give the ball to Q ? Come one, every DCoord know they must stop Wes Welker but they can't. Why ? Because the Pats created plays where he's so good at. Why can't Cam creates plays to use Boldin (quick passes, screens crossing routes etc.)

Same thing goes with a lot of other WRs, if you can't give the ball to your playmakers, doesnst look good. If they put 2 on Q every play, theres no way they can stop Rice/Heap/Mason/Stallworth/Housh with their other players so we should be able to score a lot more with our passing attack..

our playbook isnt good thats it. we play conservative football, with easy and predictable routes.
