I'm a huge fan of Indian food, and a couple years ago after dropping a shrimp into my chicken curry, I had the idea to try something a little different from the usual chicken or beef curry and make shrimp curry instead. Got that down to a science now lol ... one of my favorite dishes.

I figure you guys might get a kick out of this. This is what my dad cooked for Thanksgiving, along with two stuffed Turkeys. He has problems going a bit overboard with food. They bought a restaurant grade Vulcan oven for their house so they can pull off stunts like this.

I feel old now .... I have the same shirt your dad is wearing lol

I consider myself a connoisseur of Lamb Vindaloo.

My wife has Bengali decent and here parents are staying with us for the week. My house smells like curry. I've been stuffing my face with puri, chicken curries, sweet ball thingys and all the other Indian delights.

My favorite is south Indian because they turn up the heat.

If that pig was kosher, I'd eat it.

It was really pretty good. I was hoping to find some ham or bacon or something, but that's all cured pork. The only thing the meat on this pig resembled was pulled pork. Add some hot sauce or something and it was very good.

Actually the meat in the cheeks of the pig are considered a delicacy.

I always try to get steamed crabs shipped out here to So.Cal at least once a year from Kent Island Seafood... the crabs out here are lousy(Dungys we call em) otherwise pink salmon and shrimp are the usuals.

I came home last night to a chicken pot pie. Even the pie crust was made from scratch. This thing was delicious.

So Men's health had an awesome article on exoctic meats.
My link

And apparently you can buy Lion's meat from Exoticmeatsusa.com for $281.70 for 6 lb roast. Seems very interesting. Apparanently its farmed raised. Thinking about giving it a try. Here's what they said about it:
What It Tastes Like: Absolutely nothing you’ve eaten before. Its flavor is bold and its texture is tender—definitely not gamey.
They also talk about Aligator, Kangaroo and Black Bear.

Anybody daring enough?

This is another snipet from the blog:
Did You Know? Hold your hate mail: Unlike tigers, African lions are not an endangered species and can be raised on farms (including here in the U.S.) and sold for meat, the World Wildlife Fund reports.
Those are some sketchy animals to be eating. Muskrat? No thanks.
I guess I'm boring, the weirdest thing i've tried is frog legs.

That sounds like stuff reserved for the apocalypse.
That reminds me, my squirrel, rat and cockroach pate is almost ready...

There are many silly shows were people go around eating absurd things, I don't get it, are they setting us up for something we're not yet aware is coming?

Jokes aside, there are some that think in the not so distant future we'll gradually no longer be able to afford to eat meat, and it'll either be for the rich, or basically a flavoring agent, which in some cultures it already is used that way.

I love meat, even offal and charcuterie is my favorite, but when I think about it, having learned about the production and process of meat, having worked in the food industry and love cooking, eating animals or sea creatures actually disgusts me.

Veggies, fruits, grains, nuts, cheese, legumes, etc. are delicious as well folks...

Cockroach I've never heard of anybody eating. They are just filthy insects. That would gross me out. But it wouldn't surprise me if the Asians do.

But I do love those shows like Bizarre food. I am envious of Zimmern. I don't know what my fascination with strange foods are, but they always peak my interests. Seriously, is it wrong to wonder what Bulls Testicle Cerviche really tastes like? It's a native dish in Nicaragua. Why not?

With your last point, I agree. My wife works for Whole Foods and we are well educated in the processes of food. I SUGGEST that everybody watch the documentary Food Inc. That doc is a real eye opener. That is what the food industry has become. We eat mainly organic and local foods here. But I still venture off and eat exotic foods when I can.
