Finished Recording My Album!

32 posts in this topic

Hey what's up everyone, I posted a thread a while back about my band Savior. Back in the spring, we signed with Toil Records and started recording our album in July. 6 months later, there has been so much going on. We just finished mixing the album, our label is in the process of a merger with a pretty huge major record label (I can't say which one because it hasn't become official yet) and we have also been on the radar of several other major labels. We will be recording a music video soon for our first single which will be aired on the Fuse channel and also available on Fuse ON DEMAND.

We don't have a release date just yet, because we aren't done mastering but we just couldn't hold it in any longer and posted a few tracks up on our reverbnation page.

So, if you are a fan of modern rock music in the genre of bands such as Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Skillet ect.. check it out!!!!

love it, hate it, feel free to let me know!

We haven't really been travelling yet. We are based out of delaware (though I am from MD) So, we have been playing pretty much in Delaware, Philly and New Jersey over the past few months. We started just playing small shows at bars and are now starting to play the larger clubs as well.

We aren't on Itunes yet, but once the album is released it will be available on Itunes, we are going to be a featured artist of the month though I don't know exactly when. It will also be available for sale online on Rhapsody, Amazon.com, Target.com,WalMart.com,Kmart.com, Best Buy.com ect.. also if anyone isn't from the U.S our distribution is international, so it should be available through most major retailers outside of the U.S as well.

We pretty much got the attention of the record label as a different band. We were more metalcore-avenged sevenfold, bullet for my valentine ect.. until our lead guitarist quit. I was lead vocals and rhythm guitar at the time. So instead of finding a replacement, I moved to lead guitar and we hired a new singer who also plays guitar and just completely started over from scratch. It was crazy, because after we had formed the new band Savior, we officially signed with the label but had 3 months to write the entire album.

[font="Century Gothic"]Not really my cup of tea, but loving it nonetheless! It'd be worth the $15 or so, as long as all the songs are like the four you've got posted up on ReverbNation.

Question: Were the songs recorded as you played simultaneously or was it mixed in post production? 'Cause it sounds a lot like the former (which always sounds better).

finally got a chance to listen to the music u got up on reverb at the shop.. U guys have a great sound. For the situation you guys are in just starting and such a change in style and all u guys sound great. very clean.

I still gotta Pm you and i will once i have a chance to write a bit but i was just curious if u guys do any screams or breakdowns? From the sound of your intro's you're definitely capable of doing some decent breakdowns..

Overall great sound throughout the band. Ive prolly listened to each of those 4 songs about 5 times each by now easy lol.

I think the next time we are in Philly will be at the Whiskey Tango on Feb. 25th should be a great show! Also, we should be playing at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City sometime in the near future but I don't have a date for that yet!

Actually, we recorded the drums, most of the guitars and bass in analog. We didn't use a click track (metronome) for timing so it really has more of a live and organic feel to it which I like a lot. After those tracks were recorded we took it all to a different studio completely to record vocals and some lead guitars in pro tools as well as mixing. We then sent the final mixes off to a third studio for mastering.

I'd like to hear a mastered stuff, the stuff on the lables site sounds too compressed and like it was recoreded with a 4track. I work in the A V field and just soo happen to be VERY good friends with credited engineer (mostly Hip Hop.. but he's a rock guy at heart and we both thought the premise was cool but the production needs a good bit of work.

Is this label ligit? I've never heard of them. I really like the type of music you guys play! Keep it up!

The label is definitely Legit, although new. I think they have only been around as Toil Records for about a year now but are already merging with one of the more prestigious Major labels.

We do still have a bit of work to do as far as production goes but I have already heard some of what they have been doing with mastering and it's like night and day. There are also a few things that we have to do as far as some fine tuning on some of the mixes but overall I'm happy with it. Considering the fact that we've spent less than $3,000 on recording the album i'm super stoked with how it's turning out.

I definitely agree with you though

Also, I forgot to mention that maybe a month ago, a few days before it was released in the media that mike portnoy was leaving avenged sevenfold, our drummer got an invitation to go out to LA to try out for them.
