Any lurkers or posters?

I have never seen any that I was aware of. The could have been posting on the DL and I didnt know.

It would be neat to get some thoughts comments and relpies from the players...

I'm pretty sure some of the players do. Probably not Ray Lewis but guys like Mark Clayton, he seems like somebody who's online a lot, i think he's blogging as well. Lot's of backups and practice squad guys i think lurk around. They're human. They want to know what people say or think about them. Lot's of NFL players have their own website with a message board.

I believe that some of the players lurk, but I don't think they're actually registered on the board, mainly because they probably have better things to do than bicker with fans by pretending to be a fan.

I think the only player registered on the message board (officially) is Daniel Wilcox, since his account is used to update his blog. Other than that, I'm not sure, and I wouldn't trust anyone on here claiming to be a player unless their username is their real name.

After all, the Code of Conduct explicitly states that no user is to impersonate a player nor coach upon registration. And although players COULD always register under a random username on their own, if they were to participate in something OFFICIALLY on the board, it'd probably be with a username that is (again) their REAL name.

I'm under the impression that's done to protect the players from defamation and to protect the fans from fraud and any potential scams.

If you dont think players come around this time of the year just to see what others are saying than you are crazy. They want to hear whats heard just like we would.

I have to agree with wacojs. Anyone can read these posts and I'm almost positive that the players look around to see what we are saying. I wouldn't be surprised if the staff does as well. As for if they actually blog, thats a little far fetched but I'm sure its happened.

Well, Daniel Wilcox DOES have an official blog that's attached to the message board..."83 Degreez," anyone?

But he's the only PLAYER who has an OFFICIAL blog attached to the site.

And other members of the organization DO read what we say...that's how the "Post From the Press Box" contest got started to begin with (which I was the FIRST-EVER winner of, BTW...just wanted to remind y'all...lol)

Again, even though I DO believe that players may LURK around these parts, I still think they have better things to do than worry about what fans have to say about their performance in the OFFSEASON.

It'd be different if it was the regular season or preseason and there were actual, meaningful snaps being taken. It's another thing for the players to invest so much in what we're saying and we can't even SEE the snaps they're currently taking in practice.

I'm pretty sure players, coaches, other members of the organization browse through here on occasion. That is one of the reasons we INSIST that they all be treated with respect.

if I were one of the players I would definitely be lurking, and maybe go undercover and start a thread and be like,"what do you think of this guy?". :D

a few years ago, Donovan Darius posted on the Jaguars board saying it was him but no one believed him. That was until the website confirmed that it really was him. that would be cool if one of the Ravens actually did that. B)

It would be nice to have one of them come in here and give us a real insiders perspective.

I doubt many lurk. On bodybuilding.com the 'pros' post all the time...given they are also partially sponsored by bb.com.

But, they have to deal with so much garbage from keyboard tough-guys. I love 18 year olds telling guys that have been competing for 2 decades what they need to do to improve.

Very different from anything talked about in this thread. But interesting I guess. I would say the players might look (especially in the offseason) but I doubt to many of them dwell on what we have to say. But there is power in numbers so we have the ability to complain in the masses and get someone to take notice.

I'm just trying to make the point that if I were a Raven's player I would not frequent this site. No insult intended, but sooner or later you are going to get that know it all that thinks he is going to tell Ray lweis how to tackle like the old days, or tell Boller he is washed up. lol

I was just using an example of another site in which pros do frequent the site and it always ends up getting closed because some guy with a chip on his shoulder comes in and thinks he is going to give the pro some advice.

The coaching staff is probably too busy. New players might check it out, but something tells me the vets have seen it all and aren't that interested.

I wish they would post here though, that would be pretty neat.

-But if they said who they were, no one would believe them... lol
