RUMOR: Fans Say Cundiff Juicing

24 posts in this topic
Courtesy of Bill Simmons (via one of his e-mailers):

Random stat that warrants at the very least a pay-per-view urine test (courtesy of Steve in Denver): "Billy Cundiff has 38 touchbacks. That is insanely high. I didn't recall him having a particularly strong leg, so I looked over his past stats: 38 of 75 kickoffs for touchbacks (this year); 11 of 209 kickoffs for touchbacks (previous five seasons)."

Either the Ravens' special teams or strength and conditioning coach is very good or someone is injecting some dubious fluids into himself.
I was reading this on a Steelers board.

I find it amusing

:229031_rofl:

They are just jealous they couldn't find a better Kicker to replace their long time Kicker like we did.

The Steeler fans on that particular board are as crazy bad as they come lol. I read that yesterday and it made me laugh until I read this article and it all made sense. We were reading how Billy re-dedicated himself in the offseason during training camp. You can't teach clutch ala Haushka but you can get stronger and learn new technique.
Akers has always been money.
It takes kickers time, Stover did not become Stover his first season--he was on IR with the Giants.
Browns fans on Scout were kicking the FO for keeping Dawson over Billy lol

give me a break. Dont they have incessant testing throughout the year? He would have been caught already.
Besides, have you LOOKED at the dude? He's got a strong leg but overall he's pretty skinny. I dont know that you can enhance ONE body part with roids :th_shame:

This is true. Because everyone knows you cannot work on improving body strength. The only way to do so is by steroids.

I don't know about you guys. But Harrison looks like he's been taking steroids into the head and Woodley the ***. That's far worse than a kicker.

Billy was never given a chance by any team for any consistent amount of time. This is the first year and we finally get to see what he is all about. Give the guy some credit, he is a talent that was overlooked or maybe just a late bloomer.

Glad to have him on our side though.

Yeah I know. Harrison gets cut from the Ravens goes off to Europe, gets Steroirds and comes back to be a beast OLB.

His head is freaking huge! Tell me he isnt on the roids.

lol i think the story is totally bogus but the stats are there and undeniable.. this did come out of nowhere to be quite honest. i definitely agree with what mod 2 said.. it was obvious training camp/pre season time that billy was dedicated and committed to making himself a great kicker.
I didnt read the steelers forum link but i could see where they could get a "story" from and i could only imagine how much it could blown out of proportion

I'm just bummed our stupid offense didn't get him a chance to break the record....grrrr

Glad you've gotten a chance to show the NFL what you're capable of, Billy.

Yeah if I was on the offense, I'd be going around pumping our guys "Do it for Billy!" Let's give him every opportunity to break the record guys. Instead we pooped on his porch.

Steelers accusing our kicker of juicing? That's laughable...

They need to take a look at Mr. Harrison if they want an example of that.

If he was a Steeler they would say "just another part of Steeler tradition" Give me a break.
I can hear it now. "Something about putting on that black and yellow uniform, look his leg become stronger because of the uniform."
