My issue with this: McClain's $40,000 fine still standing and Merriweather's being reduced. Merriweather was being fined for both hits on Heap that game making it a fine for multiple offenses in the same game.

Yeah, plus Merriweather's seemed a lot more egregious than McClain's. Maybe in a couple of months, Jameel's will be reduced, too? Just odd that they did it so long after the fact.

Why did they reduce Meriweather's fine?

He's a repeat offender that has been cheap-shotting people all season. He should've been a prime candidate for suspension for outrageously dangerous hits.

I think McClain appealed his fine so perhaps they are waiting for that process to reduce it. I agree though that Merriweather's hit(s) appeared intentional and it is obvious that McClain's was not. It was just unfortunate.
