30 For 30

15 posts in this topic

I loved watching the 30 for 30 series last year, it was prob. the best show on tv last year. The one on the Miami Hurricanes rise and fall was my favorite. I would really like to see one on the Michigan fab five and the aftermath that followed many years later. Which topic would you guys like to see.

Didn't they do a documentary about the Baltimore Colts marching band?

Yea I think that was like the first one ever.

"The Band that Wouldn't Die", "Muhammad and Larry", "The U", "Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs. The New York Knicks", "No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson", "The Two Escobars", "One Night in Vegas" and "The Best That Never Was"(which I watched for the first time over the weekend) are my favorites.

If I could, I would like to see one about Inside Sports magazine during the eighties, and how it tended to cover the people in sports - not just the athletes, but also the accessory people.

Those were all pretty good; one of the few things ESPN has done very well. I never thought about one on the Fab 5 but that would be pretty cool to see. I'm a huge baseball fan and would love to see one that goes more in depth of the Gherig/Mantle 61 home run year.

I really enjoyed the Escobars one as well as The U. One other one I'll mention (not a real big NASCAR fan) that I really enjoyed is the Tim Richmond one. I remember as a kid vaguely watching him but I never really knew about all of that stuff at the time due to my age. Very well done episode as well.

I was disappointed in the one they did on Ricky Williams; it wasn't as informative as I thought it'd be, and there wasn't as much insight into Williams as a person that we didn't already see in other interviews. It was just boring.

I loved the ones they did on The U, the Colts Marching Band, and the USFL. I'd like to see them do one on Ryan Leaf since there's even more to his story than we thought.

I loved the one on the U, and "The Best that Never was". Amazing stuff.

I would love see them doing a story on:
- Ray Lewis
- Ryan Leaf or JaMarcus Russell (bigger bust)
- The whole Saints story (Katrina, Payton and Brees's arrival, and the SB)
- LeBron in Cleveland (although this one would be better if they did it after the end of LeBron's career)
- Dan Marino (what no ring means)
- The imperfect season (07 Pats)

Thats just some from the top of my head. I could probably think of many more.

That's right, "Pony Excess," which was about the NCAA's "Death Penalty" haha... my mistake.
