Why isn't Ray Rice on that list??? Obviously people didn't see the Saints game if he's not playing. And Peyton Manning made it? I thought he was having a bad season. Someone said that he's been throwing a lot of interceptions. Let's just hope the Ravens take it all the way to the Superbowl, and then we don't have to worry about it.

The Flacco/Ryan debate is now basically impossible now that Ryan made the pro-bowl. Even though he shouldn't have gotten the nod over Rogers....
yep, and you could argue for flacco over manning as well.

flacco's pro bowls will come

i think lechler makes it on reputation so i geuss he needs lechler to retire
Did Shane Lechler have a better year then Koch? I'm gonna have to look that up.

I would of personally taken Revis out of it. He wasn't as impressive this year. Glad we passed on McCourty lol :(
He shut everybody down once again. Calvin Johnson, TO, Marshall, Andre Johnsoln. He was just as good as last season, it's just that QB's avoided him.

Good for Suggs btw, he worked his tail off, he really deserves making the Pro Bowl. Hard work pays off.

Ray Rice has struggled all year despite going over 1,000 yards. He's only recently found his stride. Also, keep in mind, I believe voting was closed the day after the Ravens-Saints game was played, so that would've had minimal effect on the overall fan vote. On top of that, take into account that the fan vote only represents 1/3 of the total votes, as the other 2/3 is determined by players and coaches equally.

Peyton Manning got in based on reputation and his league-leading passing yards. However, Manning also has a horrid TD-to-INT ratio and threw the ball more than any other starting QB in the league this season.

Is it just me or is the AFC Defense stacked
The AFC's just the more loaded conference, overall.

What corner should of gone in his place? The guy led his team with interceptions and Passes defended.

I am upset Sam Koch didn't make it.
So? Brandon Flowers and Champ Bailey were better than him this season.

Ryan would not have finished ahead of Flacco in the AFC, let alone made the Pro Bowl here with Brady, Rivers, Schaub, Flacco, Manning, Cassell etc.

NFC QB's suck. All they have is Vick and Rodgers.

Not as long as Brady, Peyton and Rivers are in the AFC. It's really not a big deal though considering Roethlisberger has only been selected to the Pro Bowl once in his career but has experienced more success overall than Manning or Rivers.

Grubbs, Koch and McClain are 1st alternates, Flacco and Oher are 3rd alternates and Rice, Boldin and Landry are 4th alternates.

Even though you could argue LeSean McCoy was more deserving, I'm happy Steven Jackson made it.

Seven seasons after being a first round pick, five different teams later, Jason Babin makes his first Pro Bowl.

NONE of the NFC CBs are deserving in my opinion.

My Thoughts:

AFC:

QB: Fine with Brady & Rivers, but Manning? He got in on his reputation. To me it's a dead even tie between Joe and Matt Cassel on who should have took Manning's spot.

RB: I'm fine with those selections.

WR: I'm fine with this but only because I have no idea who would replace Lloyd.

TE: Lewis played well and is a favorite of Garrard on Sundays, and Gates... I didn't think he had a good year and got in on reputation alone.

OT: I'm starting to Joe Thomas is making it on Reputation, Jake Long? Really? I would have went with Eugene Monroe the LT from Jacksonville. Also can we please start having Left & Right Tackles go to the Pro Bowl?

OG: Grubbs definitely got snubbed and should have went especially over Logan Mankins, who was out majority of the year because he was holding out!

C: I agree with these.

DE: Wow they could certainly have better AFC DEs.

DT: No disagreement here, I agree with them.

OLB: Agreed.

MLB: Ray again keeps proving doubters wrong, he once again had a great season and earned it. Mayo too, he's a corner stone for that Pats defense.

CB: Revis is the only person I think shouldn't have went, I would have given the spot to Joe Haden.

FS: No Problems.

SS: Troy had a decent year but not a Pro Bowl year.

K: Our Voting Paid Off! Cundiff deserved it!

P: Reputation Alone.

NFC:

QB: I would replace Ryan with Rodgers. Though I can't wait for next season to show Vick was a fluke this season.

RB: I agree with all but Peterson, I would have Forte in his place instead.

WR: I agree with all.

TE: I would take Witten out in a heart beat and replace him with Kellen Winslow with Gonzalez as the starter.

OT: Good god, that is the worst Pro Bowl Tackle lineup ever. Jason Peters isn't that good anymore, Jordon Gross is falling apart, big reason for Carolina's struggles. Chad Clifton? Should have been Donald Penn, Roger Saffold and the Atlanta LT.

OG: Fine with this except I replace Carl Nicks with Atlanta's RG.

C: Should have been Todd McClure, Jason Brown or the Saints Center.

I agree with the NFC Defense selections but or FS I would have chosen Earl Thomas.

Disagree with Drew Brees over Aaron Rodgers, Brees has way too many interceptions. AFC has some great RB but I would have put in Hillis since he was pretty much 90% of the Browns offense.

Also anyone find it odd that the Patriots have 4 defensive players in, yet the Steelers only have 2?

I have to disagree with Matt Ryan over AR. Come on now, and if it wasn't such a popularity contest, Flacco should have made it over Manning with the success of his team and his higher passer rating and less INTs. But congrats to Jamaal Charles, finally being noticed, as well to Cundiff. I'm proud of you man
Aaron Rodgers had nearly 200,000 more fan votes then Matt Ryan. Guess Natty Ice media crush outweights our votes.

I was really hoping DMac could go to Ravens last year (Ravens needed DB). Devin and Ray not only played together at Rutgers but they lived about 20 minutes away back in NY. Watching Devin his last year at Rutgers it was obvious he was playing on a level way above everyone else in Big East. He is a good hitter as well as playmaker. Belichick said he is one of smartest players he ever had an compared him to Ty Law.

Not really. With all the hype NE has got(and deservedly so), they were going to get the votes. Lawrence Timmons aside, I can't think of a Steeler on defense that was snubbed.

I still don't understand how Aaron Rodgers missed out because of Matt Ryan... There's NO way anyone can make that argument to me. Rodgers beat him statistically, without a running game, and in the Green Bay elements. Ridiculous.

I think Lamar Woodley and Cssey Hampton should also get a mention. Only person on the Pats list I would disagree with is Meriweather. The other 3 are well deserved.

Just found it kind of ironic that a team known for high scoring offense and an average defense has more defensive players sent than offensive.

Ray got an awful start. He began against some top defenses that keyed him and then he hurt his knee. When he came back he was trying too hard and was trying to make these weird spin moves he never used to make before (and that weren't really working). He started looking like himself again near seasons end. I expect he will bounce back. His receptions look good and hes a more polished hands receiver (vs body trapper etc). Ray's stats this year are quite close running wise except that he never gets as many red zone carries and 4 TDs is a bit underwhelming even if he has 1350 total in the end.

You can't be serious. Before getting hurt, Gates was having an amazing season.
You're dead wrong. You would have given a spot to Haden over Asomugha? Look at the stats in this entry and make that statement again. Link I don't think McCourty deserved to make it over Flowers or Champ.
RB: I agree with all but Peterson, I would have Forte in his place instead.

How? Peterson has scored more TD and not fumbled once all season.

TE: I would take Witten out in a heart beat and replace him with Kellen Winslow with Gonzalez as the starter.
Even though Witten has been more productive than Winslow?

And you're cool with the NFC CB selections even though there are CBs have outplayed all three of them this season?

Though Shane Lechler had more yards punting, Sam Koch had 37 punts placed inside the 20-yard line compared to Lechler's 26. However, the Jets' Steve Weatherford was more deserving of both men statistically; Weatherford had more punts than both men with slightly less yardage than Lechler, but an AFC-leading 38 punts inside the 20 that surpass Koch's mark.

I still wanted Koch in, though. :)

By "mention", do you mean as an alternate? Because Woodley has been outplayed by Harrison, Suggs, Wake and Tamba Hali among others this season. Ngata, Wilfork and Seymour have been better than Hampton too.

I agree about Merriweather. He's had a pedestrian season in my opinion. You could make the case that T.J. Ward, Antoine Bethea, Eric Berry and Eric Weddle being more deserving.

Brady aside, none of their skill players on offense are big names.

Brandon Flowers was my favorite CB coming out of that draft, so I'm glad to see him doing well. I was hoping he would've fallen to us, because of his physicality, but then we wouldn't have gotten Ray Rice. And I couldn't agree more with you about Peterson. Frankly, I have no idea how nobody's noticed his incredible improvement in ball security. 20 Fumbles in his 1st 3 Seasons...and 0 in the 4th? I think it's one of the most understated statistics around the league.

Wow, literally as I was praising AP for his ball security, he fumbles for the 1st time all Season. I should be expecting a thank you card from him for jinxing it.

But Brady makes those offensive players good. Branch was terrible in seattle, Welker was expendable on the dolphins, Woodhead was expendable on the Jets. These players are good don't get me wrong, but having Brady as a QB makes you a heck of a lot better. Not to mention every time a drive stalls the refs call a roughing the passer and extend it, giving them further opportunities to pad their stats. Perhaps more of their O linemen should have gone because no QB/RB has success without the big guys up front.
