I live in LA and always watch the national sports shows on ESPN, Dan Patrick, etc. to see if they will even mention our Ravens.
It is pathetic.
Here we are in position to go to the Super Bowl and on Sports Center they hardly gave us 2 minutes of their hour. The focus is always on the Jets, Pats, Giants, Eagles,Brett Favre or teams that are bad or good, but we must be really unexciting for TV.
Maybe it's me, but I have been on the edge of my seat of almost every game this season.
Oh well, maybe it's a good thing to be "under the radar", but I would like to see our guys get a little recognition once in awhile.

Its true, Ravens never get national attention. The funny thing is when they do briefly talk about us, normally they have good things to say. So its not that they dont respect the team, they just cater to the larger audiences. The same can be said for the Falcons who have dominated the NFC but rarely get talked about. I dont know what would happen if they were forced to talk about an Atl-Bal SB, probably just a Ryan-Flacco lovefest.

As a small-market team whose biggest personality is an aging defensive star, the Ravens just aren't going to get the same coverage as the other teams.

It doesn't bother me too much anymore though.

i would be curious, however, to see the ratings increase after the blind side was released.

One of the "finer" TV shows i have seen about the Ravens/Players was the Ray Lewis Coaching Circle that NFL network did, oh maybe a few months ago.

I think its good that were "under the radar" since a lot of times when a national sports center like ESPN focuses on a team its a lot of times problems so I'm ok with it

Well we lost to a broken down Steeler team in front of the whole country, and we are a defense first team.

I usually don't think 1 loss can make such an impact, but before that we were getting love from all over the place. So many analysts picked us to go the SB. The Ravens are getting as much hype as they deserver IMO.

Every fan base feels this way. But only fans of teams like the Falcons have a legitimate reason to complain.

I don't so much mind that we don't get talked about much, but the media beat two long dead horses:

Brett Favre and Michael Vick/Eagles.

I'm so sick of hearing about how Favre is so manly getting up to play once again when he sucks so bad every game now. We all understand he is remarkably old and has a lot of records, but the man's done it over at least half a decade more than everyone else. He has more INTs than any other QB in history. He leaves every game injured and doesn't know when to stop embarrassing himself.

With Vick and the Eagles I just think that all I ever hear is how good Vick is, how he's apparently the best player in the league and how the Eagles are supposedly the best team in the league. Fair enough, they are exciting to watch, but don't just focus on them. There are 31 other teams in the league, just because the Eagles have won some games doesn't make them special!

you've got that right, however, it is tough to hear nothing about the game, as I am a Baltimore girl living in LA
I will tune in and wait to see any mention, and it comes later in the hour and is very brief!

It is hard to compete for media attention when you have .......

Favre sending pics of his junk to a Maxum model

The Jets coach has a foot fetish video on the internet

Vick stating that he wants a dog

A Jets asst. coach is caught on tape tripping an opposing player

Not sure I want the ravens to have any attention

Oh please....The Ravens get much love from ESPN and all other sports media outlets. Give me a break with this "no coverage" BS.

Ravens are in the playoffs and are talked about every day and rightfully so.

I often wonder if when the hosts or reporters or analysts are wearing a purple tie, they are somehow someway saying we support either us or the vikings for that particular weekends game.......I have seen Dilfer and Sharpe in purple more than a few times............

Its true shows arent built around talking about the ravens, but If you listen to games you almost always here comparisons. For instance if a safety make a great pick they are compared to Ed Reed. If a team gets a pick and the offense forms a wall and starts blocking, they say they are playing like the Ravens. I know it doesnt seem like much but it shows me everyone has alot of respect for us.

Either way, I would much rather us fly under the radar. It does kind of bugs me though that Harbaugh is getting absolutely no attention when it comes to a mere nomination for Coach of the Year. I understand the love that Todd Haley and Raheem Morris are getting for their teams' turnarounds, and it's on good reason, but it would be nice to at least hear his name mumbled when the topic comes about. Maybe it's just the NFL Network.

Colts are also a small market team with an aging superstar and they get their share of coverage but see what happens after Manning retires and they become bottom feeders again. Sometimes no coverage is good coverage.

that's the best thing i've ever heard, that's a good thing, when u fly under the radar, teams underestimate u, and u can just plow ahead to the SB. i think we will win the SB, this our year, we have the team that can make the run, we just need to get it together and crush the indy, pit, NE, and eagles in SB

Peyton is getting older but not only does impact games much more than Ray does, he plays the most important position on the field.

Real football fans know that as long as there is coverage on the field. Obviously we are 11-4 with 1 game left win or lose we have defensive coverage and that is all that matters.

As a Ravens fan I'm glad we dont get as much coverage as do the Jets do and Favre do,etc... Obviously the team has respect but let it stay that way.. This team always plays better when they are completely under the radar!

C'mon Man! You know that's not true. I watch NFL Network everyday and always notice that the Ravens get very little airtime whether they won big or lost big. We are in a small market and don't get the attention that the larger market teams get and that is just a fact of life. I have learned to live with it.

That is my point!
Of course the local media is all over the team, rightfully so, but when I am trying to get some info - I am looking at the national coverage and it is lame.
Of course when we win the Super Bowl, perhaps they will give us a break!

Ray Lewis Coaching Tree is great. Thank God for the internet, you can find all kinds of things about the Ravens when you want. You don't have to watch stuff about teams you are not interested in to hear the 2 second bit on the Ravens.
