Kindle Arrested, Charged With DUI

166 posts in this topic

I just received a text message from WNST literally 60 seconds ago indicating Sergio Kindle was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DUI). This is being reported by WNST and the Sun.

*facepalm*

In yet another setback in a troubled season for Sergio Kindle, the rookie LB was arrested early this morning and charged with drunk driving. In a brief statement, Kindle apologized to the Ravens and said it was a "mistake." (LINK)

Kindle's brief statement is included in the link. It's hard to discern whether Kindle was referring to the arrest itself as a mistake, or whether Kindle is owning up to the situation as a mistake on his part and acknowledging responsibility for his alleged actions. Either way, this severely hurts his chances of stepping onto an NFL field for the Ravens, especially since Kindle is a repeat offender and his football career -- let alone his quality of life -- was already in jeopardy because of his fractured skull.

Just WOW...I realize he's going through a great deal, but this is just a sad turn of events for everyone involved. I hope he pulls it together quickly.

Out of curiosity, why wasn't he in Cleveland w the team?

Injured players, particularly ones on injured reserve, are not required to travel with the team to road games or attend all meetings and team activities.

Time to move Kruger back to OLB because we know Harbs is high on high character players and this just seems it will put Kindle in Harbs dog house.

So it begans, I hope Ray Lewis reaches out too him. This situation could get out of control real quick. There's something about players that come from Mack browns Texas longhorns. They seem to have a hard time dealing with adversity. They are so use to being handled with kid gloves.

Don't throw him under the bus just yet people. So long as he gets the message this time around and Ray takes him under his wing for a while, he still has a future with us.

A Ravens spokesman said the Ravens were not aware of the incident.

Reached Sunday night, Kindle said he was driving home with friends, one of whom had to catch an early flight. He said he had informed one of the team's security personnel about the arrest, and apologized to the team.

"I just want to apologize to the organization, because I don't want to bring a negative light to the team," he said. "It was my mistake. I can't take it back now. I don't know what's going to happen from here."

^^^

wow! soooo, the Ravens are out in Cleveland playing lights out defensively to secure a playoff spot and this cat is out there getting drunk and then driving? really Kindle? you may be gone after this one buddy!

The guy sure knows how to hang around with right group of friends to kill his career. Tumble down the stairs while getting drunk with friends the DAY before going to Ravens facility. Get a DUI with friends while partying late night in the hood.

I had high hopes for this guy. But his career is over. Man...what a waste of 2nd round pick. So angry right now..

Great, this is what you want to see from a kid who 'falls down stairs in the dark at a friends house and misses his rookie year' and you spent a 2nd round draft pick on.

Keep on making mistakes Sergio, you won't even get a chance to play for this organization!

"Kindle had off-field incidents at the University of Texas, including crashing his car into an apartment building when he said he was texting while driving."

Seems the Ravens took a chance on him and he's proving himself unworthy. Can he turn his life and career around? Sure, but will he? And will the Ravens want to keep him around long enough for him to do so...that is the question.

His a wasted pick. He keeps getting away with trouble, and makes excuses for everything. He'll repeat it again, ..its over. He can now work at macdonalds or where-ever his group of thug friends work at for all I care.

Was he drunk when he fell down the stairs or is that speculation?

OK, I've seen enough. I'm done with this guy and I hope the organization is also. Between the strange preseason injury, to the baffling tweets, to now this. My idiot-meter is pegged all the way. He will not reflect positively on this organization in the future.

Keep in mind, all of the details of the incident are not yet available, so there's still a chance he was not drunkenly driving. We can't assume that everything is as cut-and-dry as what's being reported. Kindle also did not directly admit to the reports being true.

That said, if the report is true, then as a repeat offender, his career with the Ravens is pretty much done -- and that's not even taking into account if he's cleared to play again.

The Ravens should try to move him but that's impossible because he has ruined his value. If he can focus on football and come back healthy that is what I want. I'd like to see him turn his life around and pair up with Suggs and be a dominate pass rusher. Let Ray sit down with him, attach them at the hip, whatever you have to do.

How can these athletes be so dumb? How can anyone be so dumb? Drinking and driving? Come on Sergio, this is Baltimore..not Cincinnati
