The ESPN playoff machine is really awesome for figuring out what happens to the Ravens if different scenarios play out
I can't figure that thing out for the life of me. I do know indy has to win this week or else jaguars are back in the driver's seat

Nothing is set in stone yet. But with the Jaguars loss if the Colts hang on to beat the Raiders, they will officially clinch a playoff birth and a home game. If the seeding were to end today, we would face Peyton Manning once again in the playoffs in Indianapolis.

There is still another week of football, and it is quite possible we avoid the Colts if they beat the Titans and the Chiefs lose to the Raiders..

My gut feeling tells me though these two teams will meet in the playoffs again, with the Ravens seeking revenge after tough losses involving the colts in recent years.

Not since they lost. If the Colts lose this week and win next week they still make it in no matter what Jacksonville does next week. The Jags need to win next week and have the Colts lose out.

Not true, if indy loses to oakland jags have a better conf record tiebreak

Well we didn't beat them up too badly so they should have something in the tank to pull off the upset.
And, with their coach in the hot seat and this one a Loss, they might be way motivated. Not holding my breath but anything could happen in a division game. Especially since Cleveland dislikes the Steelers more than the Ravens.

No. If they finish with the same overall record, Indy takes the division. That's the way they have the scenario. In order to control their own destiny, the Jags needed to beat the Colts last week.

The colts haven't locked up anything yet, they have to win out or hope jags lose next week. Today's loss to the skins really didn't hurt jacksonville as it was non-conference. Jags can still win the division if colts lose today or next week as long as jaguars win in week 17

I'm not saying the jags control their destiny, thry need indy to lose. If indy loses and jags win, jags will own the tiebreaker

Yes I understood what you were saying but Jags do not own the tiebreaker. Indy owns the tiebreaker. They need Indy to lose this week and next, and they have to win next week.

Per Playoff picture as of today: (before the Jags loss)

Now tied for the AFC South lead, the Colts control their own destiny. Win their final two and they capture the division title.

Edit: My bad. I get what you were saying now. Conference games now. So if Indy loses they take another conference loss. All this stuff gets confusing. Sorry.

Ok if both teams end up 9-7, which would mean a loss for indy this week or next and jags win next week, Jags would have the tiebreaker. Colts conf record would be 7-5 and Jags would be 8-4

Colts dont scare me. Pittsburgh is probably the only team Im scared of. Not that we cant beat them, but we always get beat up when we play them.

If our road to SB has to be that way, so be it. We have to bring in our As game all the way, no mater who's on the other side of the field.

I'm not sure who is paying attention to the Chargers/Bengals game, but the Bengals are about to knock the Chargers out of the playoffs and make the Chiefs the 2010 AFC West Champions which means the Bengals are going to have some momentum heading into our game next week. Especially if the Bengals that are playing hard today for Marvin Lewis' job we may be in for a shoot out next week.

Bengals 34
Chargers 13

At least we are already in the playoffs. They CAN'T do that to us, so I'm good.
