Not only that but Joe went for over 10,000 yards in his career today!

He's set a few records this season and it's not over yet!

How many more records does he have to set before we can end the "Is Flacco Elite" debate?
A couple of SBs coming along with it.

Yes I'm greedy lol

He made some great accomplishments today and played a solid game. Time to improve those stats next week and head into the playoffs strong. I can't believe people still doubt Joe.

p.s. Not trying to steal Joe's thunder here but since I haven't seen anyone else say anything about, today was Ed Reed's 10th career game with multiple INTs. No one else has as many. The closest behind has 8 and I don't remember if they're even an active player anymore.

Quite a few actually. Look, I'm a big fan of Flacco, but he is not an elite QB YET. Do you really put him in the class with Manning, Brees, Brady? I think he can definitely join them in that class, but not right now.

Flacco is slowly and quietly making his mark on this league! it's just a matter of time before he must be considered as one of the "elite" QBs in the league.

The reason people don't consider Flacco "elite" is because he's so withdrawn from the media and out of the spotlight. People ride the Matt Ryan train like the seats are made of gold... yet Flacco has put up better numbers two out of the three years both have been in the NFL. Flacco is a facility rat and this has never made the light of day in the media. Yet Matt Ryan locks himself in the tape room for 10 hours and it's on the front page of ESPN.

Flacco still needs to weed out the boneheaded plays, like running to the sideline and having sooooooooo much time to make a decision, and then allowing himself to get hit and fumble (good thing it went out of bounds).

Hes great, but not elite. Thats pretty obvious. But thats more of Cam's fault rather than Flacco.

Pretty hard to be elite with him as OC. Just ask Brees and Rivers about that.

Joe Flacco is now 29,678 yards away from breaking Johnny Unita's franchise passing yards. (Yes I'm going to compare Flacco to Unitas instead of the likes of Kyle Boller)

Flacco is definitely not a an elite QB, yet! He is extremely slow in the pocket and in decision making. He has bounty of explosive receivers around him in T.J., Mason, Boldin, Stalworth..., but they barely get the ball. Just replace Flacco with Aaron Rodgers or Peyton Manning or Tom Brady and you will see the huge difference in passing yeards. Hopefully, Joe will improve and will rise on the ocassion.

Flacco will most likely break that record if he is fortunate enough to stay healthy and play long enough. Not saying that makes Flacco better than Unitas or anything...

He makes the same 'elite' throws that they make; and his decision making is on a very high level.
But I understand why people say 'not yet'. Those guys you mentioned all have one thing in common that Flacco doesn't -- a SB ring. In other words, they've been there done that. Flacco just hasnt had the time to accomplish what they have, so I have no problem with anyone saying 'not yet'.

In this league, you need to score a lot, and I guess that comes down to the plays called, but honestly, next to Manning, Joe throws the most beautiful ball I've seen, next to Manning of course.
Would I put him in the same class as Brady or Manning, no way, they've been around longer, and it's Joe's third year.
He'll continue to work hard and to get better.
Above was mentioned Brees, and while he looked amazing last season, he really hasn't this season, and Flacco just beat him.
Of course Flacco wasn't asked to do too much, but that is the way it should be.
That is Ravens football, and the game against the Saints, while it didn't go down in stats, I think that was one of Joe's best games he's ever played in the NFL, hands down.
He had a great game, and he had a good game today.
Apparently he threw a pick, and I missed that, but he's still learning, and he's doing a great job.

Flacco never had the chance to learn under anyone.
These elite QB's tend to have had a couple of years to study under other QB's, when Flacco was pretty much thrown to the wolves, and in Baltimore, who has not had a great QB long enough to learn from.

If you check the Atlanta press you will see that the press a little kinder to Ryan. In Baltimore, the press is just looking for a chance to say " See I told you Flacco isn't that good." The Baltimore press magnifies his shortcomings and brushes over his accomplishments. Most fans in Baltimore will scream when he does something bad but those same fans will over look those mistakes and be looking forward to the PLAYOFFS but not the Baltimore press, they will stay on the bandwagon until the team loses and then say, "See I told you so!"

Got to love the Baltimore press, if they know football, why are they talking it and not playing it?

Just saying.

When you hear Ravens you immediately think...Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, etc... not Flacco. The whole "Elite Quarterback" argument is overrated,we're primarily a running team. There's no bigger Flacco fan out here than me but until he puts up a couple 400+ yard passing games we're gonna hear this "Is Flacco elite" argument.

Right.
And so what if he is "elite" or not. Was Dilfer elite when we won the super bowl?

Joe is #7 in passer rating at this point and #4 of QBs that have played all their team's games this year (Vick, Romo and Rodgers have not played all). I think that's pretty darn good. Also, the Raven's running game has not been as sharp this year, the team has relied more on Joe to produce and they are 11-4, so what does that tell you? The NFL is all about hype, face it - the Ravens are near the bottom of the NFL list for promotion. And Joe is even further down, because the networks weren't yakking his name on Saturday's for years before he even started excelling in the NFL (e.g., Matt Ryan). Hell, they're all over Tebow now because he was on the field for one game the Broncos won. It's sick. Joe is going to take the Ravens to a SB win some year very soon, maybe then he and the team will get some more respect.

I agree. respect would be nice, but I don't want to be overrated. being one of the more underrated and least appreciated teams has its benefits, especially when we win :)
